Awesome tune, for real. I just really hate that he doesn't play the clean part.....well, clean...like on the recording. It added such a brutal contrast and made the solo stand out more. Still an excellent job though. This song used to make me flip out when I was like 15 :-p haha

He only co wrote two songs on Ride and thats Ride the Lighning and The Call of Ktulu. In which case, he only wrote sections of the Rhythm. Both solos originally done by Hammett.
6 Songs out 40+ songs which made Metallica huge. None of those 6 were the ones that made Metallica noticed and instantly famous.
i think mustaine might have wrote the first part of the solo (before it goes to the high notes) cause dave does stuff similar to that, like in devil's island and kick the chair
But in Kirk's defence both solos sound like something he plays often too, maybe its a similarity between the too. Probably why Kirk didnt have a problem playing solo on the Four Horseman which is similar to the Mechanix.

This band kicks my ass so hard that it annihilates my asshole. This isn't their best performance of this song, but it's one of the greatest songs of all time by any band, along with Holy Wars and closely followed by The Conjuring, in my opinion.

Mustaine only co wrote 4 songs on Kill em All. He wrote one whole song himself. And he co wrote, Ride the Lightning and Call of Ktulu, in which case he only wrote some rhythm sections.
