@Naddig74 Unidexter is funnier. It's often the rythm of the word that makes it funny, same as in Bedazzled where Peter Cook's Devil explains that the name he is known by in his current embodiment (which just happens to be George Spiggott!) is a "non-de-nym or pseudoplume".
I remember this sketch in 1971 when the (Australian) ABC showed a series of 'Not only ..but also'. But considering the number of times this sketch is shown here, I'm amazed that the punchline was omitted. Just as Dud. was leaving the interview, Pete called out words to the effect: 'Please call in the applicant for the part of Long John Silver.'
Thank you for sharing, it's one of the best characters Peter Cook ever invented and Dudley Moore was the perfect man for performing this role - he is so cute!
i love to watch it

Unidexter is a funny word and sort of fits in with the theme of the sketch in that uni = 1 and dexter is latin for right. So = one leg on the right.

Brilliantly executed!

Pedant strikes: The term for a one legged person/creature is not 'Unidexter' but 'monopod' XD

Thanks mathii for adding that bit. After seeing the sketch only once in 40 years, I must have forgotten the 2nd. applicant. Very apt.

@Britcomsarebest The real punchline is that, when he did so, a two-legged man walked in.

Dudley Moore must have been very fit to hop about like that.
