Cutting those things out will make Americans more arrogant than before. We need to know the past so we won't make the same mistakes in the future. Japan tried to do the same thing, but China stop them.
@BoredAzzF I hardly think Americans will be arrogant. What about China's school book policy. Do Chinese text books tell how many millions of Chinese were murdered by Mao Tse Tung to advance communism? I think you better worry about Chinese arrogance. Millions have been killed in China for not toeing the communist line.
@seethelightofgod -Better yet ! Start your own Masadra! Have them sit for hours quoting passages of the Bible. That way anyone can strap a bomb on them and send them out to blow themselves and everyone else up. They will not have the ability to think for themselves and believe any Idiot that says that's what God wants. He told me so.
Is anyone really surprised that these conservatives are trying to re-write history? If I were a conservative, I'd be uncomfortable with history as well.
Why is it that no matter how much we show these idiots the US Constitution, they will never stop trying to change it's meaning in the eyes of the future children. "Third Party Candidates?' - Well dad my social studies class didn't tell me about those, I don't think there is a such thing, just Republican and Conservative as my teacher says." Next up for Texas books, civics course dealing with, "Why preaching the gospel is your American duty."

If it were up to me I'd homeschool every kid in America.
And the only textbook they'd ever need would be the BIBLE.

This is also very scary because Texas standards have a huge influence on the major textbook publishers.

I don't think that all of McElroy's suggestions are nutty, but some of them are real doozies.

Ames and McLeroy are bible thumping right wing nuts who should not be allowed to dictate public school curriculum.
