Wow, chica! Your voice is fantastic--very well developed for your age--and I love the vibrato that is developing in your voice. Keep working on that breath control, and soon that vibrato will be on every note and those runs will get a little easier. By the way, the ornamentation on the da cappo (the second time through) is completely acceptable. If you can get it, try to find the new version of"26 Italian Songs and Arias" which will have other ornamentation suggestions. Keep singing!!!
It was all right, a lot of natural talent. You need to form your vowels better, such as the a in alma, and the o in spirto. Also, watch the tendancy to go sharp in your high register. I know nerves will do that to you so that might have just been this performance. At the end of the piece, the tripplet thing you did with alma del core kind of ruined the song. That's not in the music and when you try to alter the notes, you can't do something like that to a classic like Caldara.
@supercutiepie For goodness sakes she's eleven years old! Anybody who sings that good at eleven deserves a toast from all of us!
PS. The triplet part IS in the version I'm learning. Besides, all the voice pedagogues I've learned from have stressed that Baroque (non-choral) music demands a bit of elaboration. Composers back then didn't write down all the minutia like they do now.
So good! You have exceptional poise. Only your eyes give away the fact that you were nervous (it's actually really cute the way they popped out when you reached the ornamental passages). No strain at all could be detected in your voice - it sounds clear and sweet all the way through. Brava! Keep singing and become a master of music! :-)
i love your act on the stage,i tend to stay still as a stone
