  • Bardzo wzruszający film, prawdziwy wyciskacz łez.

  • This scene makes the movie for me!!! She has got to be one of the most gifted actresses of out time!

  • the best actress of all time. period.

  • Really love this film, can se it again and again, but always make me cry

  • I AM A ROMANTICIST. THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE MOVIES. TO GIVE YOUR FAMILY ALL OF YOUR LIFE. ONLY, TO HAVE, YOUR HUSBAND, DIE IN THE END. HOW TRAGIC! SHE WAS, IN THE END, GOING TO GIVE ROBERT WHAT WAS LEFT OF HER.

  • The movie is wonderful but if you have not read the book, it is a must.

  • Clint didn't have much films in the 90's. The Rookie, In the Line of Fire and Absolute Power are my favs but this film was very beautiful and touching too. Clint Eastwood is real genius. I love the 90s so much

  • J'adore ce film.............La musique est simplement SPLENDIDE. Un grand film.....Merci Clint et merci aussi à Meryl Streep (mon actrice préférée)

  • what an actress!!!! LOng life for clint eastwood

  • Why does this movie make me cry each time.....Obviously its a damn good one!

  • There are parts of the book which always bring tears to my eyes. Like the book, in real life there can only be heart ache and a very sad ending to a love such as this. I know because I was there.

  • No Moonwine - it's not about cheating! It's about her true love, obligation, & the sacrifice she made. You obviously don't possess the depth of character to comprehend the magnitude of this love story. This is quite possibly one of the most riveting & heart-wrenching scenes in the movie. The combination of the superb acting and beautiful music makes me want to watch this over & over again. Brava Meryl!

  • When I watch this part of the film, I forget to breathe. I remember all of the days and nights of our lives that we could not spend together, and I wonder if it was worth it; but there were his children.

I let the love of my life slip away, and he married someone else, eventually.

Fifty years later, I still feel the pain, and this film brings it all home.

Clint and Meryl made something wonderful, including the theme.

  • This is the scene that just makes me bawl. an older Francescia, but oh my the power of the love in the tears, the handling of his intimate items he left for her.

Oh lordy... am getting all teared up again.

to have four days in a lifetime of such a love is something many cannot nor ever will live and experience.

  • My life in turmoil, this picture puts it all together for me again. The pain, the joy and most of all, the power of true love that comes but once. I experienced that in my life and to this day, every day, I remember that one true love that slipped away, but my memories will go with me. This is true acting and both of them have a talent that is unsurpassed.

  • Some years ago, I was the man on the outside; hoping she would be able to be with me, but deep down knowing that there was no way. We gradually broke it off, both of us realizing it was the right thing to do. Not long after, I saw this movie in the theatre, and I had a very hard time not crying out in anguish! One of THE most powerfully moving, heart wrenching movies of all time.

  • fantastic y romantic picture y loving aguascalientes mexico

  • I'm crying right now. This is the best movie I've ever seen!

  • I'm crying right now. This is the best movie I've ever seen!

  • I cried

  • ncntry.

    May God bless you!

  • I have loved this mive from the first time I watched it in the theatre.......

If you have ever been in love, you understand the emotion that this movie brings out in everyone---men and woman.

I cry every time I watch it............

  • Robert James Waller wrote "Bridges". He has written several other great books but none were ever made into movies. He wrote "Border Music" and "Old Songs In A New Cafe". Both are worth the read!!

  • "I know you had your own dreams I'm sorry I couldn't give them to you"....67 yr old widowed male... F-4 pilot in Nam.. for most of my lifea macho schmuck.-until I viewed this incredible film..my God how I miss my beautiful wfie......

  • May God bless you!

  • Thank you for this great film!

  • Carpe Diem, A beautiful and emotional story.

  • @aBritaBroad I'm from the Philippines and i share mthe same thoughts with you

  • @aBritaBroad I'm from the Philippines and i share mthe same thoughts with you

  • also one of my FAV scenes from the movie... course I LOVED the whole thing...

  • LOL what a JERK!

you are probably one of THOSE "cheaters" liar or SHE cheated on you, OR you wouldn't be so upset lmaoooooooo...

and I am not a PIG or a DYKE: TRUST ME I love the men... but NOT a "hater" either like your sorry azz... and I am an Irish Redhead, I would say that right to your face and let you have it with my words: that would be ENOUGH to simmer you down: I make "mincemeat" out of FKTARDS like you DIK...

(: now get out of my Comments box and email: YOU ARE NOW BLOCKED MORON

  • For those who dont get this movie: She didnt go looking to cheat, love came to her door, unexpected. When your soulmate knocks, always answer, even if life wont allow you to have a lifetime, anytime is worth it. She did sacrifice (her life) without her true love for her husband, her commitment, her children. Most men keep cheatin til caught. Feel sorry for those who have never experienced that kind of love. For those who appreciate this movie I say: read the book, soooo much better, more love!

  • @Broussel115

This is pure love, Im going to buy the book!!!... im in love with this movie, i cried!!!

  • @Broussel115 I am home alone for the next 5 days because my wife and my son are going to be 2000 Kilometre away because are visiting my mother in love. By you point of view I will be justified if tomorrow I find some kind of love and cheat on my wife. That make no sense.

  • @Broussel115 I so agree with you..Anytime is worth it!

  • @Broussel115 The only thing incorrect in your statement is that "most men keep cheatin till caught". That is not a trait owned solely by men. Women can hold that trait too. But the rest of it, life happens - I was once Robert Kincaid in that movie for another woman and it ended close to the same, changing both our lives forever.

  • @bwashinski Hugs and Peace, stranger, been there too, very painful...but, like you, I'd do it all again.

It only 'knocks' once in our lives, we knew it, so, makes us special, we have sweet and sour memory.

    Peace And Long Life, :-)

  • All of you haters, you don't have anything inside you at all. Enjoy this for what it is, a romantic film. It should tear your heart out. If it doesn't, you don't have a heart. Thanks for posting the clip.

  • Hahaha - Funny you mention this - I was about to start a thread on IMDB for the same topic - Hats off to you!

  • Hi Soul,

Funny, you're one of the rare few that agree with me. I didn't realize how angry I was when I wrote that LOL I think we SHOULD start a board about this double standard bs. I am really SICK of the double standard and crap movies like this just perpetuate it even further. I wonder how many married women have done this already? If you ask me, this crap is teen "fantasy" love crush crap involving grownups who should know better!

  • LOL my guess would be probably ALOT less then the married men philanderers out there from the beginning of time... you probably do it too, probably WHY you are pizzed FKTARD!

  • GROW UP WOMAN HATER!!!!

  • One of the best love stories of all time. What we do for the love of our families

  • wow. i just spent the previous 5 minutes bawling my eyes out. its weird, that even though i am 22 years old and have never been in love like that, i can still relate, for lack of a better word. i don't know if i ever will experience that kind of thing in my life, but i sure hope so. =)

  • Oh, how I love this movie.

    Its simple and passionate.

There are so many parts I cried---when Robert talks of certainity, when shes with her husband in the truck and he's leaving town, and this clip ---

Im all tears every time I watch this movie.

  • Lennie Niehaus' score in this movie is pure magic! What emotion and what power it had! God, I'm crying right now because of it.

  • The greatest love story of all time...

  • it is one of my TOP 5 ALL TIME FAV movies ever, and if you like this one, Titanic, Out of Africa and An Affair to Remember (the one with Warren Beatty and his wife Annette Benning) are poignant, Moving as well... also GORGEOUS soundtracks...

  • the best love film ever !!!!!! awesome!!! deep feelings in my head ,oh my god ,i can't talk !!!!!

  • wow I didn't know Clint Eastwood directed this definetly gotta rent this one weekend....

  • love this movie...

I gave my life to my family, I wish to give Robert what is left of me...

  • amo esta parte del final....

siempre em imgaino ami en al misma situacion de francesca..ay el paso d los años....

  • be happy, lets be happy

  • one of my favourite movies..but soo sad :(

  • Meryl Streep was absolutely ...FANTASTIC in this movie!!

    I just love her!

  • Mas vale haber amado y sufrido que nunca haber amado...

    te amo mucho.....Alexander

  • THERE IS A PLEASURE IN THE PATHLESS WOODS by Lord Byron There is a pleasure in the pathless woods, There is a rapture on the lonely shore, There is society, where none intrudes, By the deep sea, and music in its roar: I love not man the less, but Nature more, From these our interviews, in which I steal From all I may be, or have been before, To mingle with the Universe, and feel What I can neer express, yet cannot all conceal.
  • Love it!!

  • This is soooooo sad!

  • lindo esse final....realidade...

  • is the best movie...my movie !

  • my favorite movie of all time!this certainty comes but once in a lifetime.thanks!

  • Do what you have to to be happy in this life...

    There is so much beauty...

    Go well my children.

  • Oh my goodness she makes me cry in this part she is such an amazing actress ! I Love Meryl with all my heart! Black or white she is one of the most amazing people I've ever seen and I don't thinl there will ever be another Meryl Streep=]

  • Lets all understand others, be peaceful, loving, and respect of family, encouragement, and love with one another. Just understanding of ones life and work to make all happy. We have reasons, if not for ourselves, but for others.

  • Well Steven Spielberg had it in his hands at one time. And wanted to direct it, that means This would of been a John Williams score.

Steven wanted to do other things, and he gave it to Clint.

  • I read the book... 7 times and counting! I lvoe it! and i've seen bits of the movie and i want to see it all so bad! this is so... good... just like the book maybe better. Meryl Streep is amazing...

  • somehow this story hurts me at so many levels, gives you a push to live life and dont wast a second!.. Time to run

  • So many things we sacrifice-....

  • The Bridges of Madison County is touching in a delicate, almost lyrical way. I could watch it 10 times and still call for another go round. What a perfect symbiosis between Clint and Meryl, they just bring out the best in one another.

  • omg i cry soooooooo much at this movie!!! x

  • FOR F.

  • I found love like this many years ago. It was too good, to wonderful to last although now that I am old I have a box of letters and once a year I read them, have a good cry, put them away and wonder what if.... Cherish it if you have it....

  • i lov youtube. i was watching this movie on an old vhs tape that my folks recorded years ago and it stops right where this vid begins. thought i wasn't gonna get to see the end. now if i could only stop crying.

  • May 2009, almost 2 weeks away. I will let you know thru words and my pictures. I became a photographer several years old and documented my journey around the world, yes with my soulmate. I've set the stage for my wife who will be find financially. We are strangers behind 4 walls. My heart and Passion is 3000 miles away. Each day I've lived what Meryl has lived, each day it smothers my mind, soul and heart. I need to be loved and does she and my soulmate. God bless

  • for the record, I'd like my ashes scattered at coogee beach...a beautiful special spot...

    ...

    §

  • She looks so much like the character she played in The Devil Wears Prada

  • I really want to see this movie! I love Meryl Streep!

  • Forever ...

    I'm loving you...

  • Daaaaamn,i happened to cry again X(

  • they aged her really well. it looks very realistic.

  • I'm crying .... beautiful movie

  • what say the book "for days"??, when she read that she cries, what?? please!!!

  • robert and francesca spent fours days togather during one summer

  • The title of the book is 'Four Days', the amount of time they spent together. Wonderful movie, heartbreaking.

  • but, wath say the book???

  • Meryl Streep is such a wonderful actress.

She is the only woman that can make me cry.

Clint Eastwood's score is so passionate and evokes the sentiment of the story so well.

  • I'm crying now. So beautiful :'(

  • For all women who have unrequited love.

  • I've never even seen this movie, just watching this scene I teared up :/

  • this movie brings me tears every time i see it, so beautiful

  • i love the ending it makes me cry. and i love meryl xx

  • a very moving ending to a lovely film, just brillant, thanks amberblewett

  • fabulous this is my favourite film of all time love it!!!!!!!

  • well i think she made the wrong decision.... we've got just one life and therefore we should do as much as we can to be happy. in the end you can see she feels so sad because she knows she has missed her chance to truly LIVE her life.

As she writes in her letter: Do what you can to be happy in this life.

It's so tragic. :-( she wasn't able to enjoy her time with the love of her life......

but as for her children, the decision was right

  • I dont think that she thinks she made the wrong decision..it was very sad, but it was inevitable..she did know that if she goes away with him, she will felt guilty for the rest of her life, so she could not be happy anyway..that's beautiful, the unconditional love for her family, she gave her live to her family, that's it

  • i think at the time mad tv or SNL spoofed this ending?

  • when she receives the box, I cried like a baby :-( you can just FEEL the despair ...of all the years wasted...knowing the dream is gone now..

did she make the right decision? for all who stay.... a question to answer...

  • it breaks my heart.. god bless you all..

  • what is the movie ?please

  • Bridges of Madison County

    book written by Robert Waller

    fantastic love story !

  • must warch movie... i liked it very much.. the only thing i donno is a title of the soundtrack (last scene) :(((

    samiruzza

    from Azerbaijan

  • The soundtrack at the end of the scene is the score from The Bridges of Madison County.

  • yeah i got it as i have seen that movie...but what is the title of this song? I'd like to download it..

    samiruzza

    from Azerbaijan

  • "Doe Eyes"

    Composed by: Clint Eastwood/Lennie Niehaus

  • ckuhn555:I hear you buddy, I went through the same thing....only decided to stay with the family. But there is not one day that I dont think about him or cry about him. It tears me up everyday. If there ever was any regrets in my life, it was that I didnt go to the love of my life. But I truly believe in things happenning for a reason. Hope you made the right choice for yourself, think of your own happiness. God bless.

  • I'm set to open the door, few things to to clear up, more later

  • My goodness, I'm already excited and happy for you. Glad that you have more courage than me, I was just scared what the future might have brought me. But there is still hope for me, the other one is still waiting for when i finally get the strenght and the courage. I'm behind you all the :-)

  • that was supposed to be..."behind you all the way",LOL!!

  • What happened??? Hoping for the best for you :-)

  • Ah, ah, punk-I know what you're thinkin'. Did he shoot six bridges or only five?

  • i wish the crazies would stop trying to burn up the bridges and "Francescas house". The whole county is so beautiful and peaceful. If you stop at one of the bridges you might meet a biker or a young family having a mini-vacation. Iowa is full of wonderful adventures. Venture there sometime, but please don't try to burn the bridges. B

  • Sometimes in life things happen, and sometimes it's better to play them safe... How do we really know what would have happened if she would have went with Robert? Remember, she wanted to keep the BEAUTY of what they had, and not to spoil it... This way it will always stay fresh, and new in their hearts... Even though it hurts, we never know if the grass would be greener... but love lives on, and on, and on...

  • this is my favorite scene...meryl does so well in acting the character of this movie. makes me cry again and again!

  • I thank God everyday that he gave me the strength to "open that truck door" - It opened my door to true love and I married the love of my life...in THIS lifetime. i used the theme song for my wedding song walking down the isle! I love this movie so much....

  • I could watch this movie over and over again and never get tired of it... this is truly a classic! I always cry at the scene when Clint Eastwood put Francesca's necklace on his rearview mirror and touched it before he drove off (not in this clip though)

  • Sometimes we play our lives safe...

  • this is so sadly said :(

  • i wanna cry when he husband richurd says he loves her...for he did love her in his own way. But it hurts more that she stayed with him and looked after him up to his dying day. So in turn what she did, her sacrafice was amazing and for that, she will get her ending, even if it means on the other side...^_^ thanks for posting x

  • I think it was return to madison county but I am not sure.

  • there's a sequel? What is the name of it. I never knew...

  • only a book... it wasn't widely circulated but it goes in to how he wandered the rest of his life alone. At one point he goes to Iowa but they don't meet up..sad.

  • Thank you so much. I love this story. As good as this movie is I still loved the book way better than the movie. Only because I don't see Meryl as Francesca..just my opinion. Still an excellent movie. If you don't cry watching this movie then well, I guess a person doesn't have a heart or a soul...

  • they were together only for four days...but their love last for ever without loosing her strength..this is the true love..maybe its a dream...

  • I love the sound, Doe Eyes. It's form the soundtrack. It's makes me tear up every time i hear it.

  • I'm at that crossroad and have to make a decison by Oct 1st. It tortures me daily. Children are grown on their own. I worry about the mental/heartbreak for my wife if I leave and the heartbreak of myself and my soulmate. I will let you know.

  • oh my, I hope you make the right desision.

    lol

  • wow, just stumbled upon this tonight. this movie is a favorite, the soundtrack it so touching. i guess it's because i saw million dollar baby this weekend and my heart was ripped out of my chest and stomped on. clint eastwood is so talented. take in in your decision and good luck. life is not easy, that's for sure.

  • What happened?! Did you make the right decision. God I hope so.....

  • March 2009, the time is near, and I shall let you know. It's been a long journey

  • within 45 days, I open the door...

  • Everyone talks about her sacrifice. What about Roberts torture knowing the women who made him feel whole is not next to him. In the sequel book, he wanders thru life alone. What about his sacrifice.....

  • That scene where Meryl Streep cries on reading the lines of Byron- one of the very very few scenes when I break down- somebody should also upload the ending credits scene- it brings a lump to my throat every time I see it. Francesca's sacrifice is supreme and commendable- she really did it for the family..

  • my throat hurts from cryin looool

  • so sad it always make me break down and cry i can only hope i can one day find a true love.

  • Acting masterclass

  • One of my favourite films ever!!!

  • the best film ever

  • what a master acting lesson! nobody could have ever played F so greatly. thanx for posting this scene! my fav novel ever... and my favourite actress, all in one.

  • A great movie, really.

  • We should all learn from Francesca's sacrifice! Poignant story!:)

  • i cried in this scene..i don't know why??i think its because of the sacrifice that francesca made

which is to be with her family till the end and leaving robert, the man he love.

    so, thanks for posting this..

    i loved this movie!!

  • this movie was amazing. it was so sad=/

  • for the one who sent me a message, sorry but i actually bought a dvd of this that's why I can't refer a certain link for this film on the net.

if you liked Streep here (and spent sleepless nights thinking about her after watching), you try THE HOUSE OF THE SPIRITS. as powerful (with a SUPERB casts you wouldn't imagine to be in one film).

  • I've been here, tasted love & passion, yes I opened the door and left. Male here, but in Meryl role. Guilt, daughters (grown) families and of course my wife. 13 yrs have passed & I wake each morning with her on my mind. When their are vacant minutes in my life I think of my Love, amazing woman. She adored me, even though I never divorced. We are together, but I'm still married. My wife is a wonderful mother and wife, but this affair, now relationship, just had so much more of what I needed.

  • similar experience ....I love your last line. Just had so much more of what I needed. thanks.

  • sh*** i'm completely clueless about mr.eastwood's ingenuity. i've actually seen this film for about ten times already and i still cry at the end!

  • One of my fav movies of all times.. I love it. But I am always crying at the end. Why not leave with Clint.? But family first, I know. Been there, done that.

  • this movie is fantastic. I can't stop crying, when I watch it. Pls upload the whole movie...

  • It is said that movies mirror life. If so, this movie has indeed captured how love can touch our lives in so many different ways. And although love entails sacrifices in so many ways, lucky is the one who gets to experience true love.

  • thnxx so much i love this movie alot can you upload the whole movie plzz

  • this happened to me bout 10 years ago, I was on vacation an met a man, I was in a relationshi at the time... I never stoped thinking about that man, he lives in another country , I wish I could see him one day...

  • I am so going to tell your husband!

  • its not my story....duh.

  • LOL! No, not you haha, I meant charomiami's story.

  • LOL! No, not you haha, I meant charomiami's story.

  • oh...sorry...i dont agree with the morals...but i love the movie...

  • It's all good. I think the movie actually has some good morals. Love the movie too!

  • What morals don't you agree with? She sacraficed her own happiness, her soul mate to stay with her family. You can't get any more moral than that! lol

  • spare me the "christian morals" nonesense about marriage amberblewett. This isn't a perfect world where every marriage is sweet and dandy. People have affairs and get divorces. Just the way it is and sometimes it is for the better. Some marriages aren't meant to be. In this case, this character wasn't meant to stay in this marriage but she did. Gave up her own happiness and love to stay in it. This movie is about that rare and true love that some never get. Very moral movie.

  • shut up

  • ONE ONLY THING FANTASTIC FILM....

  • Dear T- what we have is so incredible - no matter what happens in the future -i will remember you the rest of my life - you have touched me like no one has -i can hardly see the screen because of my tears- thank you -thank you - thank you

  • Love sure is a powerful thing, huh? We need to guard our hearts better...?

  • This is a wonderful movie which reminds me of the greatest love and the onlyone in my life. Dear J. we cannot be together and you know that. But like you once said, hopefully we can meet in another life to live our love.

  • finallyonenick:this is not who I think it is, is it? Is this you M? If it is pls reply back even if it is'nt reply anyway so I know. I hope it's you. I miss you!

  • I am sorry.. i just read your comment... I guess i am not "M". I am from Argentina... Sorry and I really hope you can SOON find what you are looking for. Take care!

  • Oh forgive me, thank you for giving me the courtesy of replying back. I wish you all the best. Thanks!

  • Thanks a lot!

  • It gets me everytime, love love LOVE this movie.

  • there is no movie that has made me cry more than this movie... and this scene in particular. i love this movie so much.

  • yeah this movie rocks and hopefully when my ex see's it she'll be mine again ahahaha
