  • it was very difficult for me to find this band cause i live in a country far of england, since i found them i was shoked!! hope someday they continue making music

  • Best band of the 2000's with out question....

  • obsolete....you will never be unheared!

  • I'am breathless. I could never think that such music could be made in a 21st century. YOU GUY's kicked ASS. Mark Heron is like the next drummer of RIDE....as are the whole band. JUST AWESOME!!!! TBC,,,

  • when I read the title to this song, i always read it as UNNNNNNNNNNFAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMILLARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

  • Thank you Biffy... This is a truly awesome song!

  • 22/8ths intro. Nice

  • I feel so accomplished. After 3 days of practice I finally learned this song on guitar. I may cover all 3 guitar parts plus the drums someday :)

  • this is a great band but Im really a new fan, whats up with all these RIPs? :/

  • @Qminoo they disbanded

  • @Xtreme090 any particular reason or they just wanna do other stuff separately?

  • @Qminoo They never gave a reason so it hit all the die hard fans pretty bad :(

  • I WISH THEY STAY UNDERGROUND FOREVER

  • @kikozup

    You wish.

  • I met one of these guys when I saw Amplifier in Sonisphere! :)

  • @MrsAbstinence it would have been Mie Vennart, lead singer and guitarist, he was playing rhythym guitarist for Biffy Clyro

  • @MrHarrisonnosirrah I didn't see Biffy Clyro! :O

  • @MrsAbstinence well then i dunno, but Mike has been playing with Biffy since mid last year and Biffy Clyro headlined Sonisphere this year..... so yeah, i dunno

  • love the intro! you guys should give Rems Floating Chandelier a listen:)

  • Oceansize is truly the most underrated band of the 00's. Why the fuck did they split up? No reasons were given.

  • I'd love to be the cameraman. And this is not even a porn video...

  • this DVD is fucking great!

  • awesome! you guys should give Rems Floating Chandelier a listen:)

  • I just checked out the tabs for this. Jesus fucking christ. Holy shit son. Dear freaking god.

  • @tristan344 The bass parts are freakin complex, which is unusual for a band with 3 guitarists.

  • these guys should have kept it instrumental

  • @algulvin wanker

  • Why?

  • What an amazing song, mind-blowing live!

  • fucking a I CAN'T believe oceansize split up. It's going to be a bit sadder around this planet.

  • look up "while the city sleeps - back when we knew", similar big soundscapes!

  • This song made me come. <3

  • fuck!!!! they have just splitted up!!!!

  • their drummer played on our two latest tracks, he is fucking epic! i prefer this band to kong though ahahaa

  • Mike Vennart now tours with Biffy Clyro - another great band

  • 29 people obviously prefer Justin Bieber.

  • @u03tf5

i.e - 29 people have no opinion on music.

  • can't believe they split up... i'm sure won't hear anything this good never again, only if they reunite someday, which i hope :(. Man i just love this guys -musical way- so much it became my dream to see them live... and now they're gone... just fuck everything

  • @cosoamarillo you might like the band "dredg"

  • It's just unacceptable that they're gone :(

  • ok this was the only actual band that i really like :( hope they make more good music in a future, because this is real art

  • I love this song, it has such an electric passion! I feel lucky that I at least got to see them twice before they broke. It was a bit of an aim for our band to try and support them one day!!

  • WHY WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY?!??!?!?!?!?!?!? D': D':

  • I like their style, is fresh and uncompromising. You like avant-garde and alternative metal? Check out my playlists of these generes and all kinds of Metal in my channel.

  • The universe has now official missed its chance to give this band the success they deserved. Shame on you, universe. The best British rock band of their generation.

  • R.I.P. Oceansize. Thank you for all the great, great music!

  • Thanks for all your music guys!!!

    Greetings from Barcelona, good luck!!

    Isaac

  • RIP to the best British band of the last 12 years

  • @lukebob60 Porcupine Tree?

  • Best wishes! because I can´t say goodbye... :(

  • New to the band; can someone give me some advice where to start please? Thank you

  • @winchuni22

Just start from the beginning with Effloresce till the end. Every album is very enjoyable to listen.

Oh yeah...they just split up. :(

  • @SpartanDeluxe

Cheers, I will do, iv got a mate who is realy into them and will not stop crying about them splitting up! Shame

  • RIP Oceansize, thanks for 12 years of excellent music!

  • RIP Oceansize.

  • First time listening to this, just saw that they split. This is fucking epic

  • R.I.P

  • RIP Oceansize.

  • This kind of music was labelled emo about 10 years ago.

  • @SpongyLikeALizard No, MyChemicalRomance were considered emo ten years ago, this sounds nothing like any sort or emo bullshit

  • If I were to label them I´d probably say progressive metalcore. They´re a lot closer to hardcore and metalcore than to stuff like dream theater. First time I listened to them I thought it was Ian from LostProphets in the vocals

  • @ThePhilosorpheus progressive metalcore? When I think progressive metalcore I think of The Number 12, Dillinger Escape, and The Human Abstract. This is more progressive rock/mathrock than anything.

  • makes me wanna go surfing!

  • I really love the bassist and drummer; there's a lot of raw talent running around in this band.

  • @ajschembari They're also in a band called Kong, very fucked up but definitely worth checking out.

  • it sounds good,I like it:P

  • Well what do ya know? I think this band just cured my diabetes.

  • space-y psychedelic rock is the right kind of indie-alt rock

  • I just stumbled across this band.. wow. super impressed.

  • Just learned of this band, their geniuses with time signatures kind of like meshuggah but soft

  • @NOBAMAftw check out "karnivool" then, guess you'll like 'em.

  • @progressiphiLe thanx alot got any more prog bands

  • @NOBAMAftw hm, i'm just listening to a few. textures and tesseract. periphery and animals as leaders would rather lead to meshuggah.

  • @NOBAMAftw

Download the album 'The Great Escape' by Seventh Wonder. If you like prog metal then you will LOVE their music. Being a prog metal fan myself I can recommend having a listen.

  • @radionactive this is pretty far from "prog metal"

  • @andrewneedsalawn ... Never said they were, but I see ppl describing Oceansize as a prog band... and I'm saying there are prog metal bands out there that kick this band's butt.

  • @radionactive Prog metal does not equal prog. They are different types of music with different roots.

  • @RedSandStudios Progressive Metal (Prog Metal) is considered a subset of Heavy Metal while Progressive Rock (Prog) is considered a subset of Rock. But historically, Prog Metal actually evolved from Prog in the late 60's and early 70's and was developed virtually 'side-by-side' with Prog until around the late 80's and early 90's when Prog Metal began branching out both experimentally and commercially. They are different types of music with the same roots.

  • fuck yes seeing them tonight such an amazing band

  • I love this album, I think the vocals really give this band a unique feel from other artists playing a similar style which usually have a darker feeling. This music is somehow immersive and uplifting, especially frames!

  • probably one of the most refined and sophisticated underground bands

  • @coolbraz Guess your not taking your big framed lens-less glasses off anytime soon?

  • The best band in the world i my opinion. Seen them live 15 times, it will never ever get boring.

  • @caustin1984 oh my, 15 times? may I please have your life?

  • The best band in the world i my opinion. Seen them live 15 times, it will never ever get boring.

  • These guys are pretty good.

and i know someone who knows most of the band members :P

  • Saw them tonight, they are somewhat strange but i like it

  • @FearlessSpinner me too... before porcupine tree. porcupine tree was awesome! oceansize was really bad O.o

  • @TheXaviaX War n mega soundbrei wenn du mich fragst,3 gitarristen gleichzeitig geht echt gar nicht und jeder hatte tausend effekte an....grässliche performance

  • @FearlessSpinner yep, war eine grässliche performance xD

  • Most talanted band ever

  • @thebuckcrow very.....biased

  • Best british band right now. They're as good or better than muse.

  • @danitafad oh yeahh this is much better than the most bands of the fucking world :D

  • @danitafad

    Heard of Porcupine Tree?

  • @danitafad

    Heard of Porcupine Tree?

And just to be sure, I'm not gonna argue with your statement. Love Oceansize too.

  • @papapk Yes, I love Porcupine Tree too, I'm a big fan for years, and their music is fuc**n' epic, but I think they are in another style... Oceansize's music gives me more possitive feelings. Both Great bands anyway.

  • great musicians, i really like the guitars

  • music's great...the vocals put this on par with tedious top 40 pearl jam crap

  • @earinsound WTF top 40 Pearl Jam crap?? Do you have the faintest idea what you are talking about?

  • @vitalogy

no, i don't have the faintest idea. i have a very solid idea. the music is somewhat interesting, but the vocals are terrible. no big deal, right? i can't stand that type of conventional wailing. sounds like eddie vedder or the stoned pimple pilots. you should check out Don Caballero.

  • @earinsound I think you'll find listening to hard, aggressive rock acts the indication that there is a far higher priority placed upon songwriting and musicianship (not amazing but there is some) and less is placed on an ability to sing. Simply, it's not what they care about and I think you'll find the target audience doesn't really care much either. Pop music does, or opera singers do. Some bands do, like Muse. It's certainly not PJ's fault douchey bullied at school new metal bands imitate them

  • @earinsound Oh and tracks like Strangest Tribe, Release and Oceans indicate a slightly different vocal style. There is no lack of diversity, only in the stuff the radio plays for you.

  • Saw this band live with Cog back in June 2009. I Hadn't been listening to them for that long before this. I was sitting down when they were on (regretted it ever since). This band deserves nothing less than absolute praise.

  • Beautiful song, and a profound band I wish I found out about earlier.

  • I'll see them as openers for Porcupine Tree in octobre. Anyone can telle, how they're live?

  • @Firotos They are amazing. I saw them the only time they came to Spain, I was in the first row, right in the middle... and it was awesome. You'll love it, I can tell you.

  • @Firotos They are frankly amazing live. You are basically going to be seeing two headliners since Oceansize is right up there with Porcupine Tree. Well, better in my opinion, but that's me :P

  • I love this band but If you want " unorthodox time signatures" look for Tool, Opeth, King Crimson, Yes, Rush, etc...Not this.

  • @maluko2 really? this band moves in unorthodox timing all the time, they just don't emphasize it as much as those bands like Tool, Opeth and more. Sometimes the real talented artist don't embellish what they know is difficult to create, regardless i love the bands you listed..and you should check out animals as leaders if you don't already know about them. I have been listening to them for a couple of years by now and Tosin and his gand are just now getting more popular

  • @maluko2 Oceansize uses far more unorthodox time signatures than those bands, and they do it so naturally. Their new song Build Us A Rocket Then... is basically math rock.

  • Lol, Nickelback. Now you are comparing my favorite band to my least favorite. Amazin.

  • What a lame band, so it's not surprising all you tasteless dullards like them. Sounds like their main inspiration was Nickelback. Grow up.

  • @mayonaises2002

Nickleback? Seriously? Have you heard them lately? Cut these guys a little slack.

  • Comment removed

  • @mayonaises2002 you are so pathetic.... keep listening lady gaga and stfu

  • @mayonaises2002 you are so pathetic

  • really interesting band, i'm off to explore some more....

  • Personally, I don't mind this band they are not outstanding though but I might get an album of theirs but wouldn't rave about them to my friends

  • i love this band

  • This is cracking song! glading through many styles, flowing through complex rhythmical parts so well put together, amazing

  • I bet half the people commenting don't know much about "odd time signatures"

    Great band nontheless

  • Fucking 'size Rock!! Can't wait til October, sweeeeet!!!

  • There's nothing sad with not being famous! They are simply too good for the majority of the people today. Since it's acts like coldplay, lady gaga and the killers are the most famous I'm pretty glad Oceansize are not that famous! :)

  • heavy, passionate, delicious. This is where Biffy should have gone.

  • i cant get my head around this music... its technically savvy and all that but its missing feeling i think.. just my opinion.....

  • @onspeliences

hmm i found this exact song to have a ton of feeling and emotion in it. not sure what you're listening to.

  • @sundinDT182

i guess different things appeal to different people. thats why theres variety. there a great band. im sure they play super tight , just dosent grab my attention... i enjoy istening to Elliott Smith, Radiohead, Eddie Vedder, NiN, BOB dylan............>>>>

  • OK all together say THANK YOU HUM.............good stuff though thanks for keeping the early 90's alive

  • i found this band today! amazing!

  • Oceansize is beautiful!! Please check out my band on youtube. Copy abrogateband and type it in the search area. You will find the songs: Sheets, In confinement, The ride(loosing yourself) and Exibithion doll. ABROGATE. Hope you dont mind a small band struggling to spread there music. Please check out and comment!!!! Thanks. ABROGATEBAND!!!

  • Oceansize are the best!

  • great!! i love the transistion..

  • just listened to the feed to feed version of this album - i forget just how amazing 'size are sometimes. when the music industry blows up, oceansize will be supreme rulers of the world

  • Hey this is the first time ive ever heard of this band...are they well known or anything??? just curious cause they are mind blowing!

  • they're well known amongst musicians and enthusiasts, they don't get a lot of mainstream coverage.

  • Simply amazing. That is all i have to say.

  • The end of this song is just majestic. Nobody does loud>quiet>loud better than Oceansize!

  • @THelperCell Nobody bur Smashing Pumpkins.

  • the first 20 sec..are the best that ive ever heard!!!

    Perfect intro...awsome

  • Nice, but a bit too much already. It gets a bit messy in all honesty...

  • awesome !!

  • this band iis so unfamous... that is very sad...

  • @anus52546 157, 134 views on youtube, doesn't really represent an underground band... still deserve to be bigger

  • @anus52546

Trust me when I say you don't want them famous. Fanbase will become babbies and it won't feel as special. I love these guys for what they are now!

  • @anus52546 just like cardiacs before them :(

  • @anus52546 i think it isn't. what if they were mainstream? being unfamous filters dubious people, so living with and appreciating that would be my advice.

  • @progressiphiLe I see where you're coming from, but personally I'd rather the band enjoyed some success. For every dubious person there'll be at least one person who genuinely enjoys it, and that can only be a good thing, for both that person and the band.

  • @PeepingTomWaits word. but if i imagine dream theater (my all time inspiration) to be more famous than now and my friends dubiously listening to them, this would be fucked up to be honest.

  • @progressiphiLe I would be happy if dream theater was more famous than now.

  • @MlkePortnoy what for? the more mainstream they become, the more dependent from the music industry they get.

  • Just saw these live... The live show was a bit sub par tbh...

I know with these post-rocky bands you don't expect ludicrous jumping round the stage etc... but you still expect a performance... these guys didn't really deliver one, in my humble opinion :(

  • @MetalheadBen88 it's sad that in their newer videos they don't seem to have the energy they once did... i'm going to europe next year with one of the highlights being seeing them live along with a few other bands, it better be good!

  • @Andrewneedsalawn: Sounds awesome, is it some kind of festival? :) Which other bands are playing alongside them? :)

Also, @ ratings, it was just an opinion, I do like their music (in fact, this is my favourite song by them :P) ... but it's a bit silly to downrate someone's opinion :P Each to their own, etc etc.

  • they tour all the time though so i'll just plan around it, if i'm lucky a few other bands over there (a gazillion) that i'm into should be touring.

  • This video is far better than most music vids with story lines. Amazing camera work.

  • musics not bad, but im not digging the vocals

  • this song is in dire need of a guitar tab. who's with me?

i'll do Steve's part if i can find volunteers to do Gambler and Mike's part.

  • i have the tab

  • care to share?

  • weird hearing this version... i like all the dragged out bits! this kind of doesnt make sense

  • We are a band called Koi,and we just finished our debut album "In Tomorrow Hid Yesterday", and it's coming out soon!

If you're looking for new bands check it out, if not...don't :P There's a free download link of the album! It'd be nice to get some feedback from fellow Oceansize fans after spending the whole of 2009 to the recording of this album. Search for "In Tomorrow Hid Yesterday" or klick into our channel, all of the tracks sound very different.Hope you like it, rock on!//Patrik

  • I love that song!!!!!!!!!!!

  • as good as oceansize are, they are no way near as good a band as radiohead. They perhaps have sections of music that I prefer to that of any radiohead song, but to call them a better band... sorry

  • you've gotta be fucking kidding. maybe if you're 14 years old or have cunts for ears, but otherwise no.

  • Im 14 and i love radiohead what is your problem?

  • as long as you don't have cunts for ears, you're excused.

  • i'm afraid i'd have to disagree, radiohead are horribly overrated in my opinion. Oceansize are yet to receive the recognition they deserve I feel

  • @rorz999 I fully agree with you about Oceansize, they are in my top 5 favourite bands for sure. I just feel that Radiohead are the best band that we have seen in the last 20 years, with the exception of maybe Opeth

  • and Tool!

  • Tool rules...xD
