It's funny, even at maximum zoom you cannot see dislikes on this MASTERPIECE. What the fuck happens with that three noobs? :S Awesome once again, Mr. Bonamassa.
@UKRecordsTV I gotta agree that Mr Bonamassa is an awesome blues guitarist, but the best alive? not while a certain Buddy Guy is still with us, that dude is un-be-liev-able! he played with muddy in his hey day and taught hendrix a fair bit too. Check him out if you don't already know about this man!
@cmanners99 Understand my views are fuelled by what I listen to and what I like so in that sense, Buddy Guy may be the best to many other people. I think I have jumped into this discussion with some real blues connoisseur's who's knowledge of blues may well surpass mine ten times, however, the validity of my debate is solidified by my genuine belief in JB's ability to make the guitar sing and play blues better than I have personally heard.
@UKRecordsTV Youre from the UK and have never heard of Eric Clapton? You claim Bonamassa as superior?!?! SHAME on you, Brit.. Learn the blues for Christ's sake.
@ScreaminEagle1555 Course I know Clapton! And Clapton is great, however Ive always strongly believed that music taste is subjective and opinions are forged out of a subjective and very much biased view upon what sounds good to a particular individual. So I will say it again, best alive blues guitarist at the moment, in my opinion and if you dont agree with it, fair play :)
@ScreaminEagle1555 Kind of. Just generally a very opinionated person. In hindsight, that suck my balls comment was slightly aggressive and I wish not to divert this discussion from civility, so sorry.
hey ashton63 he is has 12 Lp's 5 platinum...the rest gold..in the studio now...he is known and allover the tube..just sayin man...Joe is the next generation..i remember this dude at like 13 years old just tearin it up...born to be in the game is what i said..
@ltuomela "born to be in the game" He's put his blood, sweat and tears into perfecting his music. And he will not hesitate to let you know it. He is apparently very conceited and enjoys his high horse...
@ScreaminEagle1555 noooooo he is very cool dude..sent me a whole LP to my phone..great guy man..very down to earth...dont know where that came from, but he is far from conceited...
It's harder to figure out whether he plays better than he sings or otherwise... I personally believe he is so amazing on guitar that he gets a bit of a lead on that. Regardless, JB is so sick that it's really hard to appreciate all of the aspects that make him better than the credit he is actually given.
Please guys, stop comparing Mayer and Bonamassa. Each guy has its own charm. Mayer nailed "I don't need no doctor" and "Clarity" as much as Bonamassa pulled the shit outta "Blues Deluxe" and "The great flood"... Listen and shut up.
@chev202...How can you be so close minded? People who make good music do it because it comes from their soul. They aren't trying to prove that they are better than any body else. And I agree with EpictheEpicest...your comparisons are irrelevant. I'm positive you know way more about the blues than me...but for some reason you got a stick up your ass that probably has no right to be there in the first place.
bonamassacre never played with a group that featured some of the most talented musicians of their time. Max Middleton and Cozy Powell sure were'nt no slouches and lets not forget Clive Chaman on bass. If it were not for Jeff's creativity, imagination, and raw talent, then we would basically have been missed out on a whole nother sound and style. no one can ever duplicate his sound. they can TRY to duplicate his songs, but good luck if you think I'll like it, because my ears know better.

OMFG!! This is one of the best blues guitarists/singers (god can he sing too!) I've heard, and bear in mind my favorite guitarist is Stevie Ray Vaughan, which sets the bar pretty high... Absolutely amazing!!
@Ashton63 don't ever take tabs from that website. one of my mates uni classes focuses on notating music and when they looked at ultamiteguitar and guitar tab universe and 911 tabs and about 90% of them are just wrong. its worth alot more if you take the time to learn the distance between all the notes in the major scale.
pm me if you want me to tell you a brill site that will teach it to you fast and effectively
yeah. the song is in C so take the C pentatonic from the 13th fret on the A string. play the 13th fret on the D and G sting and slide down. hit the strings hard.
@mattbonann I believe he is just hitting and holding down G, B, E with his index finger on the 10th fret, and sliding a couple of frets up. Works for me anyways. But this is the blues, just feel it and whatever works best for you will do! Hope you work it out! Best regards
@mattbonann Its a Muted quick slide release . strike the 1, 2, 3, strings together and barred across the same fret > almost simultaneously but ever so slightly after , release pressure on your finger to form a left hand string mute index finger barred ) your right hand palm should be lightly muting over the bridge for control . After striking the string then releasing to a mute then slide down the desired number of frets .
@mattbonann dont know if ur still intersted as u posted this so long ago but its a slide on the 13th fret of the b string and the 12th on the g simultaneously. ps this is not the easiest tune to learn by ear expect to be frustrated!
@mattbonann well, really he's just sliding his hand down the string without any pressure...its tricky in this situation because he has a high gain tone which he is controlling with his guitar's volume knob so its clean, but when he does that slide down he cranks the volume to get all the gain and get that beefy sounding tone, then back down with the volume knob for more clean tastiness :D hope that helps.
@mattbonann dnt know if u know it bye now but its a scale (not sure which one) you go up a couple of frets on the high E string n bend away. :) i worked the rest of the scale out by ear.
@mattbonann its just a bend but plucked with a finger not a pick. try grabbing the string and popping it with your ring finger while sharply and quickly doing a full step bend, its on the high e string 15th fret
@mattbonann its just a bend but plucked with a finger not a pick. try grabbing the string and popping it with your ring finger while sharply and quickly doing a full step bend, its on the high e string 15th fret. that squacky slide sound is all in the timing u gotta pop it at the exact time ur doin the bend
@mattbonann pretty much all you do, is find a high fret, and then slide from there down to the first fret, its kinda hard to explain, but once you get the right speed, youll understand.
Volume control is legendary, one of the tightest power trios ever. Eric Z with good old kenny on drums... LEGENDS. With possibly the best new blues sensation to come along in a long time on guitar! :D. Hopefully this is a sign of music to come! :D
@terzolilu sorry about your sex life!! but hell yeah! ear-gasms all day long!! this guy is unique!! old soul voice and flawless straight to the point chops. rare!!
@thereaflashgordon I KNOW! He is one of the most amazing guitar players alive!! Well, maybe that's an opinion. But he is definitely one of the greatest to come along since Hendrix or Stevie Ray, I think.
@thereaflashgordon I reckon it's 18/15 on high E with a quick hammer on/pull off then 18/16 on B, to 17 on G then back up the way you came down, repeat again a few times with lot's of conviction. I'm not kidding or being smart, I just think that's what he's doing. Amazing player.
This guy definitely goes in my favorites, right next to Melvin Taylor. Fantastic tune.

yeah. the song is in C so take the C pentatonic from the 13th fret on the A string. play the 13th fret on the D and G sting and slide down. hit the strings hard.
littlegreenmanpeanut 1 year ago
@mattbonann nothing to learn really, just fret top 2 / 3 strings anywhere past 12th fret, hit them all and slide em all down
stratocastor2011 1 year ago
@mattbonann uh yeah, you have a slide haha

@mattbonann its called a les paul with a good valve amp, and the use of vibrato. strong fingers.
gromshit101 1 year ago
@mattbonann just use ur palm, mute the strings up on the neck and press it as hard as u can. and strum all the strings as you move down the neck
Tonguinho 1 year ago
@mattbonann I believe he is just hitting and holding down G, B, E with his index finger on the 10th fret, and sliding a couple of frets up. Works for me anyways. But this is the blues, just feel it and whatever works best for you will do! Hope you work it out! Best regards
TheJamesFive 1 year ago
@mattbonann Its a Muted quick slide release . strike the 1, 2, 3, strings together and barred across the same fret > almost simultaneously but ever so slightly after , release pressure on your finger to form a left hand string mute index finger barred ) your right hand palm should be lightly muting over the bridge for control . After striking the string then releasing to a mute then slide down the desired number of frets .

@mattbonann
Just grab 3 or 4 strings of that chord and yank your hand down the neck. Easy ! !
nontien 1 year ago
@mattbonann Hit a note around the 12th fret and slide down, releasing pressure as you go. Hope that helped.
RDVideosInc 1 year ago
@mattbonann Actually, hit about 3 notes at once and slide down.
RDVideosInc 1 year ago
@mattbonann he plays with the volume knob, look at the live version.
elco86 1 year ago
@mattbonann dont know if ur still intersted as u posted this so long ago but its a slide on the 13th fret of the b string and the 12th on the g simultaneously. ps this is not the easiest tune to learn by ear expect to be frustrated!
happyhardcore502 1 year ago
@mattbonann he's just sliding his hand down the fret board from the note he was on
shanemcgg 1 year ago
@mattbonann well, really he's just sliding his hand down the string without any pressure...its tricky in this situation because he has a high gain tone which he is controlling with his guitar's volume knob so its clean, but when he does that slide down he cranks the volume to get all the gain and get that beefy sounding tone, then back down with the volume knob for more clean tastiness :D hope that helps.

@mattbonann Just quickly pull down along two strings, fingered at a minor third I believe.
kevnar 1 year ago
@mattbonann You just slide down from the 12th fret E string and absolutely smash the note (Possibly bar the A string aswell)
Metalhead001122 1 year ago
@mattbonann vibrato
gromshit101 1 year ago
@mattbonann dnt know if u know it bye now but its a scale (not sure which one) you go up a couple of frets on the high E string n bend away. :) i worked the rest of the scale out by ear.
1994AlexJohnson 1 year ago
@mattbonann Hes just sliding down the neck from that note
BritishMetalIsKing 1 year ago
@mattbonann its just a bend but plucked with a finger not a pick. try grabbing the string and popping it with your ring finger while sharply and quickly doing a full step bend, its on the high e string 15th fret
zeppfan8472 11 months ago
@mattbonann its just a bend but plucked with a finger not a pick. try grabbing the string and popping it with your ring finger while sharply and quickly doing a full step bend, its on the high e string 15th fret. that squacky slide sound is all in the timing u gotta pop it at the exact time ur doin the bend
zeppfan8472 11 months ago
@mattbonann pretty much all you do, is find a high fret, and then slide from there down to the first fret, its kinda hard to explain, but once you get the right speed, youll understand.
jordy2332 11 months ago
@mattbonann pretty sure thats just string bending man. a whole and a half step up
donmeswimee 10 months ago
@mattbonann

Volume control is legendary, one of the tightest power trios ever. Eric Z with good old kenny on drums... LEGENDS. With possibly the best new blues sensation to come along in a long time on guitar! :D. Hopefully this is a sign of music to come! :D

@thereaflashgordon I KNOW! He is one of the most amazing guitar players alive!! Well, maybe that's an opinion. But he is definitely one of the greatest to come along since Hendrix or Stevie Ray, I think.

@Ashton63 how about Tinsley Ellis?
nyse41685 1 year ago
@thereaflashgordon I reckon it's 18/15 on high E with a quick hammer on/pull off then 18/16 on B, to 17 on G then back up the way you came down, repeat again a few times with lot's of conviction. I'm not kidding or being smart, I just think that's what he's doing. Amazing player.
