That's because Iranians are genetically related to Europeans. They are part of the Indo-European populations (same as Caucasians). Around 19th and 20th centuries a subrace known as the Aryan race was thought to be the "master race", the idea that was especially embraced by Hitler (incidentally that's why Germany and Iran were on good terms in WW2). These race things are not really clear though, but there is a big connection b/w Iranians and Caucasians.
