That is how the maps are played for glowing frames, at least the earlier levels anyways. The reason why the score goes so high before a single creep is killed is because you get points for advancing a wave by clicking on it. The faster you advance it the more points you accumulate.

This is the only way I know of to get glowing frames for the first five or so levels. Levels after that you can get glowing frames by accumulating other achievements such as creating a level 9 gem or some such thing

I'm not trying to get a higher score....I SAID you cannot go back and replay the mission and get the experience it says it gives you...like if you beat it normally...it says you get experience except the experience doesnt even add!...THATS what I was talking about...I have no plan on beating my scores I can barely ev en get the same score over again

Just to let you know, it doesnt allow you to gain experience doing the level over again...so gaining xp is actually impossible, Im stuck on level 18, I cant level up to 19

@1Sandwitch1 Did the rules change? Back in the day, when I played it, the HIGHEST score was taken into account. So if I redo a level and get a HIGHER score that time, my total xp would go up. ;)

What i've yet to comprehend...is how anyone ever struggles desperately with getting glowing frame on the levels once they've gotten high-grade mastery maxed.

or calls the first epic hard, especially now that chapter 0's out.

My other favourites are mpdtd and the warcraft III map element td. But both are single match games, no campaign mode there.

You might try bloons TD (8 maps, no saving or skills) or the Defender/Protector series (which I think sucks, but maybe you like it).

Does the upgrading mana increase your score because it says it does but it dosn't

For me it does, as the mana I gain gets spent in gems, and they give points. More mana = more gems = more points.

upgrading mana gives more score multiplier, im pretty sure, not one big lump of points

i'll post some numbers from my first gemcraft "perfect run" - best attempts and final result attempt. (i follow your strict rules, but i move forward only after i set my personal record(takes A LOT of thinking, timing and reaction, and patience,heh - but it is VERY interesting and challenging,+ superb start(lvls).

So there is my statistics: Level 1: best numbers are - 874. 600; 889.000; 897.000 -and my final result was 901.910 - i think this is the best i can achieve there, so i moved on..

yes, zero xp and no skill pts (strict rules), it took me dozens of attempts. Red jem in closest turret, then, later - one more red turret even closer to the base, then another. did not let the crowd past first turret, killing them as much close to the base as possible, thou upgrade mana pool is main thing to do ( late waves give more pts) - avoid last pool upgrade and leave one last monster to run the way in the end, building/throwing gems to get amulet kill him right after it is all over.

3 towers amulet + gem amulets + fast killing as close to the base as possible (fast, but not mindless bomb spending - do not forget upgrades asap - and build my pool upgrade strategy according to the price of monsters in waves, after some waves it makes sense to kill the bunch, and start others with bigger pool) = good outcome. when you'll be around 860-880.000 - you are close to the maximum, the rest is reaction and good timing.

It should raise the bonus for pure colour gems. They start of at +10%/+20% and with maxed skill they are like +20%/+50%.

Good job, but I use a laptop touchpad so my micro can't be nearly as good. I'll just glowing the first level after I get to lvl 30sumthing with a lvl 5 red gem tower. You Taught me how to mass build, que building trenches, and queue the upgrading

I use the hotkeys, they are listed in the games description under "Controls": "the basics: click on spell buttons to select them drag gems to move, throw or combine them advanced: 1-6 or B/T/C/M/W/G selects spells hold ctrl to create/combine as much gems as possible hold shift to place multiple towers/trenches hold shift to create multiple gems P to pause click/space/enter to close tutor panels" To mass create gems, press "c", then hold "control" and select the level you want with the mouse.
