Juffo-Wup is the spirit & energy that flows through their life cycles & generations...from each spore to each full grown fungal being, for eternity...as long as things die, there will be juffo-wup.
I always thought Juffo-Wup was part religious doctrine, part philosophical ideology--when the Mycon talk of "Juffo-Wup", they're remembering part of their original programming as terraformer biots, and see that programming as an overriding, holy duty. It seems like the "terraforming" part got messed up, but they still seek to reproduce more Mycon and spread to more life-supporting planets, only instead of taking care of them, they destroy them to spread Mycon faster.
juffo-wup is is the mycon's reproductive process. Fungi are decomposers, meaning they break down other forms of life in order to grow. The turning of non into juffo-wup is consuming them, as a decomposer consumes a dead-animal
I think the Mycon might've been a failed (and botched) attempt by the Taalo to create a species that could tap energy from a planets core, so that they could power a giant psychic shield to safe the other races from the Dnyarri.
Everyone always seems to think the Precursors created them, but if they ever DO make a true sequel to SC2, I'm putting my money on the Taalo being their creators.
Their fungal biology might have been so that they couldn't be compelled by the Dnyarri.
I had read recently that what become known as "Juffo-Wup" was originally their original terraforming directives and instructions, somehow corrupted with the absense of their creators to guide them. The "Spore finds nourishment in decay etc." seems to imply something similar to Christianitys "Spreading the word of God" directive in a roundabout fashion.
The whole "Spore" thing sounds like it could have started off as programming on self replication to implement terraforming.
"Hot Light" could have started out as the concept of a fully terraformed world. The "Darkness" could be a metaphor for an uninhabitable world. Therefore bringing LIGHT to the DARKNESS. Terraforming brings life to where none before existed.
Im getting the impression that Juffo-Wup may not be a particular individual enitity but rather a religious doctrine. So Juff-Wup is more like. Like their version of the Koran or the Bible.
Juffo-Wup is the power of LIFE, it is the hot light in the cold Void. It is in all things, binding them together, making them one. You are non-Juffo-wup, you cannot understand. You must become Juffo-wup or void.

To me Juffo-up sounds like pantheism.

The mycon were created by the precursors to make planets enhabitable but had a bad programing and turned wierd and EVIL.

Look at all these comments. Each of them different theories.

Juffo-Wup is like the big bang for us. A single spore of Mycon DNA lands in a hot crater, releasing thousands of other spores.

I thought it was obvious now. I am Juffo-Wup.

I think its quite clear that Juffo-Wup is the name for the fungal-mass or mycelin layer don't you think?

Sounds to me that Juffo-Wup sounds like a kind of whipped cream

Juffo-Wup is the hot magma core of a planet. They send their seeds(Deep Children) into the planets core and thats how they are born.

What exactly is a Juffo-Wup? Sounds like a cross between an omnipotent diety and a non-dairy dessert topping

I'm not sure but I think it's who they worship.
