i kinda remember some kind of trick that you did to make all pokeballs catch like masterballs. it worked about 45% of the time and even on legendaries
Ridiculous. The "Tapping A legend" is just that. A falsely created legend passed on by elementary school children. To prove this, I would think that you should test at least 255 pokemon. Drawing circles, tapping a, or b for that matter, is completely fictional. Only things that are flat-out stated to increase catch rate, will, in turn, increase the catch rate.
@Drakzensorri you're so funny. In case you didn't notice, or care to check, more likely, I have no videos. I never will. I am here to call idiots idiots. Simple as that. THAT was the purpose of my comment. If you went to school long enough to do a science fair progect, you would not only know the falseness of this video but the discreditably of it. Two pokemon? Of such low levels? Hilarious. And yes, freexax, I do.
@blobby292 I didn't say it works. I was only saying you don't have to say to people you should do it on 255 pokemon at least because you think and most of us think it don't works. But if you want to prove it you have to prove it yourself without saying to people do it and I will believe you or else you will say you used action replay
It seems to also work with pressing B and Down right when the Pokeball first lands, then holding until the Pokemon is caught. That's just my personal experience, some of you may have found it doesn't work, and I myself haven't experienced a perfect catch rate with this.
I really can't tell what's going on with it. Maybe it's an Easter Egg cheat like the Konami code in Contra and Gradius? Maybe it's a Placebo? Maybe it's just weird?
Imo its all totally random i remember i caught mewtwo once in fire red with my first ultra ball. I was most likely holding down B though. But still im pretty sure its all totally random.
I throw an ultra ball and don't press anything.. it escapes, throw another.. don't do anything..waiting...waiting.. oh shoot it was appeared to be caught. Im like fumin at this point then i try one more time mash the s#*% out of the b button, thing is caught no probz xD
damn so many.xD me i press a and b together as soon as the ball sucks up the pokeman(yes pokeman xD) and move the pad left right with the ball on legendaries and if it doesnt work, i do the a and b together with L and R all at the same time when its sucked up and it helps too but with regular ones or rare ones, i just hold a and b as soon as its sucked up. i can never just watch it try being caught without doing anything. xD
If CatchValue is 255, then capture is guaranteed. However, if not, then the second formula is taken into account. When you throw the Pokéball, and whenever the Pokéball shakes, a random number is generated and if the random number is greater than the value output through the above formula, then capture fails. If however, the random number is lower, then it will go to the next attempt and generate another random number. This is done for three shakes until the capture is complete.
Now the Maximum HP and Current HP of the Pokémon that you are about to catch are obviously not known by you, however that is what the colour coding is for and really the lower the hit points the better the chance
Status Ailments are a completely different amount however. Here is a small table stating the Values that each of the Status Ailments is given
It doesn't always work.The most common chance is that the pokeball will shake 3 times and the pokemon will pop out...But it also depends on the ball:If you throw an ultra ball and rapidly press b the chances will be higher than throwing just a heal ball...BUT!Usually u need to use the nest ball!!! If you are ex.at flower paradise and you want greatly increase the catch rates,u will need to use the nest ball instead of ultra ball...with that,the catch rates get huge boosts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
lol everyone has their methods :P mine is actually using my stylus 2 make circles around the pokeball at the bottom of the screen as fast as i can and after it wiggles i tap the middle of the pokeball 2 capture it
It actually works a little better if you HOLD B and mash the A button. Did it for all mah Pokemon games. Disagree if you want. I just wanted to tell you.
Hold A Not B Then Tap for every bounce except when it trys to break through the Ball the HP has to be at Half point I used this since Yellow Version No Fail Ever SincE!
The B + Down trick TECHNICALLY only worked on Red and Blue, since hitting buttons made the game recalculate the random numbers used to catch Pokemon, usually in the favor of lower values which meant closer capture rate.
Otherwise, it's superstition that we all use to pray we catch the Pokemon we want!
I caught a regirock with a pokeball by tapping b.Then i forgot to save before registeel and i killed it.I turned off my ds and lost the regirock.In sapphire................
in EMERALD uring a WILD (not pokemon u already got ) throw ultra ball hold b as it opens release when it closes if caught and if u do correctly u shud get a master ball
It actually doesn't work.. if you use an emulator on the computer, you can save at any point in the game and even during battle. so when you try to capture a pokemon and revert back to the save point and try using like the b tap, the number of shakes is exactly the same.. repeating like 10 times gives me the same results... sorry for the bubble burst..
B is not the button to use. Try holding down on the pad. It seems to improve my chances, even though logicaly, in the catch rate formula, no button will help.

@werwar666 wouldn't matter. if you look above her tests it 20 times. 9 with, 11 withou. 8/9 with caught, 5/11 without caught. also, pokemon of the same type and level can still be different.
It most likely is, I saved state and tried catching a jigglypuff and 5/11 times i caught it, but at the same time, I tried tapping B with save state (same jigglypuff) and caught it 8/9 times.

The formula for determining the capture of the Pokémon is as follows:
CatchValue = ((( 3 * Max HP - 2 * HP ) * (Catch Rate * Ball Modifier ) / (3 * Max HP) ) * Status Modifier
The Capture Value for that is then put through another equation to determine whether or not the Pokémon is to be captured
Catch = 1048560 / √(√(16711680 / CatchValue)) = (220 - 24) / √(√((224 - 216) / CatchValue))
