  • He is d'Ysaye.

  • What a refreshing interpretation. It seems that all the violinists I have heard do this piece before refined it at the same masterclass. This is a different interpretation but every bit as passionate and good. Love his tone, piercing and focused...amazing. One of my new favorite interpretations!

  • @mikebee06 I agree. Most versions I have heard all sound similar. Laurent does take a totally different path though and I like it a lot! After all, he's French so he naturally does things his own way and in his own time...gotta love the French outlook on life!

  • The problemwith music, and in particular violin compo's is the reference. Because the first rendition you hear will always stick and undeliberately taken as a reference.

So keep this in mind when you start judging.

It is always refreshing to hear performers that do not follow the elephant's path, therefore my regards to Laurent Korcia.

  • Is good to have one's own interpretation. I don't agree with most of these tempos. The whole thing it's too rushed and careless for my taste. There's a huge difference between being innovative and arrogant. But that's just me.

  • Adore It!!

  • Best version of the piece

  • I wouldnt go quite that far. Maxim isnt too shabby either!!

  • @calloffthedogs True. But Maxim's never quite looks like that.
