Back when cars could hold a road, weren't made out of carbon fiber, & could go through a cinder block wall & still get you home in time for dinner!!:)

The build materials are not important... The shape of the body and passion in making the car is what matters. However, we will never see machines like these again due to the lack of and limitations of coachbuilders.

They are both important. Steel, aluminum, wood-these materials were used by the greats in order to give the cars stability & as a real test of the power of their engines, etc. Rolls & bentley still use these materials today(2 of the few)-for a reason.

Also, as I explained earler, w/ steel or aluminum, you get a 'ding', it can be pounded out in 5-10 minutes. Do that on a carbon fiber 'car', and, the ENTIRE BODY PANEL has to be replaced.

As bitchen as they were,and still are,Duesenbergs didn't quite measure up to what Delahaye represented.Delahayes were/are equivalent to Bugattis and Hispano-Suizas.
