One thing I love about Runescape are the quests. The quests all feel like effort was put into them, unlike some games(World of Warcraft) That just tell you: go kill 5 of a certain creature. Now go collect items from the same creature. Now go do the same thing for another creature. Move on, rinse, repeat. This goes on until higher levels, with few unique levels inbetween. When it takes until you get to a high level for a game to start being fun, and your forced to pay $15 a month... no, just no.

"This will screw over anyone who doesn't have any food": It's called PKing, knowing how and when to eat your food is key. If you aren't equipped for a fight, don't bother going into the wilderness. You'll just end up dead.

@BazzCott I thought the same for a while, but if you read the rules and restrictions, you'll find that this isn't necessarily true. You can legally play the game if you're not 13+, but such players are retricted to the quick chat feature. Quite frankly, I think this is a great option to offer preteens the thrills and advantages of this great MMORPG, without the potential dangers that come with online communities.
Runescape is, in my opinion, one of the best MMO's out there. If they released a downloadable version with WoW / Allods / Fiesta graphics, people wouldn't talk so much crap about it. It's also the only reason I don't play anymore lol.

i used to love this game. me and 5 of my friends would go do clan wars and shit and would grind classes. until one of us bought membership. then the other 3 did and then finally me. we just became hooked. at school we would discuss what time to get on. i would rush home from school, get on ventrilo, boot up runescape and wait for my friends to get on. we would train combat skills, earn gold to get better weapons and everything. then we bought wow. !!!!!
Runescape was really good, but recently Jagex has been making "upgrades" to it which have slowly been ruining it for vets. For newer players, I guess it'd be ok. I actually bought rs memmy today because my x-box broke, so I have nothing better to do. =|

@Ajofk exactly. the only people you'll ever interact with are : people you trade with, people you know in RL, people in minigames/quests. every other encounter is just bullshit and repetitive. you know what i mean if you play the game.
EG// you start cutting trees when people start asking what your level is in woodcutting. before you can answer they've already told you theirs.
It's this need to brag about their skill levels that i hate about RS.

Runescape isn't bad, but if you get to the nity grity of the game, it's not as great as people say, comparing it to WoW is like comparing shit to a gold bar. I used to play RuneScape, and it's not my cup of coffee.

i used to love this game. me and 5 of my friends would go do clan wars and shit and would grind classes. until one of us bought membership. then the other 3 did and then finally me. we just became hooked. at school we would discuss what time to get on. i would rush home from school, get on ventrilo, boot up runescape and wait for my friends to get on. we would train combat skills, earn gold to get better weapons and everything. then we bought wow. !!!!!

I'd still play this game if it were the way it was right about the time construction came out.

Runescape was really good, but recently Jagex has been making "upgrades" to it which have slowly been ruining it for vets. For newer players, I guess it'd be ok. I actually bought rs memmy today because my x-box broke, so I have nothing better to do. =|

Game sucks. I played in 2006 through 2008 until i got to level 70. then it started to suck...jagex killed this game. For no fucking reason. God i hate brits...they are fuckin retarded.
