  • The reason why the heavier rocks work better in your longer slings is because physics cancels the weight out

  • I would agree with this. You're putting out good info. I say this because there are so many self appointed experts out there that really don't know what they're talking about. It's refreshing to hear someone saying things about slinging that are correct. Also, I agree with TheMightyUsopp about slings and sling shots. They both have their uses.

  • I wish you were my brother

  • how long have you been slinging for

  • thanks 5 stars

  • i heard that the shorter the better aim but the long the more distance

  • basicly yes

  • If you stand on top of a barrel while shooting, I don't think you can hope for much precision. Maybe some long range, but even there you may be seriously hampered.

  • It matters also the thickness of the line/rope/string you use along with its weight. The less stretchy synthetic materials work best for longer slings, than natural ropes or leathers. The more give/strechyness = the more knots will form apon release.

Long, Unstreachy heavy, slim lines work better for longer slings, anything longer than 5 foot get SMALL steel cable garantee best results. However, it will only last a few dozen uses before it strands begain to break.

    ..X..

  • 2ft 3inches- 58 cm i huess, i was able to get up to 100 ft, not so great, but i've only gotten to practice 1 time

  • ive only been slinging for a year , my sling is 5 ft from the loop to the pouch, and 10 ft 3 inches overall lenth, because of little practice, im only able to get a spherical golfball-sized stone 1100 feet (366 yards.) but there are other people who can easily sling farther, since they have practiced more.

  • What distance have you thrown with the long sling at the end of the video?

  • greets dude,,

personal preferences are 24 inch braided sling for close up and a 30 inch para chord sling for distance work, golf balls are nice ammo.

a good guide for sling length is to put your arm by your side with your fist clenched then measure the distance from your fist to the floor that should give you about the best sling for you

  • Marbles travel faster then steel balls or rocks & they have same impact, which means the range is much better. I guess its because glass is lighter, then steel balls or stones I think you have some. (cool weapons)

  • I prefer the modern slingshot & my ammo of choice marbles, they travel faster & have the same impact. If not better I once shot a guy in the, adoms apple with a slingshot defending my home.

  • slingshots are fast and accurate at close range or if a tight area e.g dense woodland or inside a house, but they have no real power or range or accuracy at range

  • I feel at home in the woods because I spent my childhood there,so its the perfect weapon for me. But I kind of disagree in saying that slingshots, aren't good at long range I have a German friend. Who told me why they banned wristbanded slingshots,in Germany because it smashed. The face shields of riot cops & peppered the bottom,of their helicopters & as said before.

  • ha very funny!! a slingshot will put a little dent in someones head, but a sling is able to blow somones head off!!!!!!!!

  • It depends on the sling shot

  • no slingshot comes close to the power of a sling

  • what about a wristrocket?

  • a wrist rocket has just a little more power than a slingshot but htey both are powerless compared to a sling, because i used to own slingshots and wrists rockets for years till i discoverd the sling!!!!!! i know everything about both, trust me!!!!! a sling is a better choice!!! people have made calculations that a sling can shoot a projectile with about the same amount of power as a 45. (hand gun)

  • Both have advantages and disadvantage. The slingshot is a lot easier to aim at things while the slign is more powerful and shoots further.

  • I used to use slingshots for target and accuracy shots and was able to split a playing card in half from 18 ft. But it does take longer to get good at accuracy with slings though, i guess thats the only advantage with slingshots is that they are easier to aim.

  • @ShawnSamLeahUsername .Thats true,a 2oz lead sling bullet moving at 100 fps will strike with the same force as a .45 cal pistol round.

  • @ShawnSamLeahUsername I`ve heard that too,a 2oz piece of lead shot at 100 fps will have the same impact force as a .45 pistol bullet.

  • Heavy rocks obviously means more gravity. Which would drop faster: a paper or a paper balls?

  • your getting better at the whole: being on camera thing. Nice vid. Going to have to talk to my friend Koda about it I was going to talk to him about making our own slings. X^)

Just have to find a place to use them though.

  • Cool Video!
