  • I can listen to this song at any time of the year :3

  • Wonderful, wonderful song from a classic album...

  • Great to have another Winter Solstice song. Some family was getting weird about our not celebrating the Christian version of the holiday anymore. I just enjoy celebrating the spirit of good will that St. Nick tried to promote. So has so many others before and after him. So why not celebrate the end of another year and the beginning of another new year? Happy New Year everyone. Thanks for the song.

  • Tune!

  • I never realized that Ian Anderson was pagan!!!!!!111

  • Merry Yuletide one & all

  • Just heard this for the first time not too long ago. Love this group, and as a flutist myself it's quite something to hear such fabulous playing. Anyway, thanks for the post, and happy holidays! <3

  • A Christmas hit for the connoisseur !

  • Mulled wine and Candles anyone-the Solstice occurs a few days before Christmas and the revelation of Gods son...

Well me being an astronomer can appreciate the Solisices and Equinoxes-good times and times to reflect...

  • Songs from the Wood a pinnacle.

  • I do like this, but it really sticks out as being a non-Christmas song for Pagans, nude erotic rituals in the middle of a field with bits of holly sticking out from certain places etc. Good fun though.

  • This is the best Tull album and THIS SONG IS AWESOME. either this or cup of wonder are my favorites... or the whistler.

  • Lost my younger Brother last year, he was a big Jethro Tull fan and loved this one .Happy memories. Thanks

  • Remembering the hours I listened to this album in high school!

    Happy Solstice everyone!

  • Yuletide greetings!

  • Thanks for having this here!!! I love this song (the best song of Songs from the Wood) Happy Solstice!

  • I agree. :-) Songs From The Wood is one of Jethro's albums, and this is the best song from it.

  • Merry Yule!

  • Takes me back to being a kid at Christmas, thanks for posting!

  • Thank you so much. Had the original single back in 76 but, like many things from my youth, it's gone missing! Thanks for bringing back the memory. Best xmas song ever.

  • I just heard this song for the first time. This is so going on my Christmas jukebox

  • I have often thought what this tune would sound like if sung by a full symphony choir with the members also doing the clapping - I am sure it would look and sound utterly fantastic!

  • excelente,excelente,magnífico.

banda igual a essa não existe mais.

nem nunca existirá algo tão fantástico.

  • Thank You for the song. I lost this album, trying to get it back. Now I can listen to this gem of a song anytime...........

  • John Glascock contributed amazing backing vocals to this tune. Some of it sounds a bit tricky. He is usually only recognized for playing bass with Tull. Love the years he was in the band. "Songs from the Wood" is my favorite Tull Album. Thanks for posting words to this track.

  • @jgfan79 My favorite era was the time Glasscock was in the band. They made the best music at that time.

  • Agreed, Nice to know of another Glascock years fan. Songs From the Wood Album would not have sounded the same without his contributions. Brilliant album from start to finish.

  • Man, I wish I could write something as cool as this. What an incredible song. Gives me chills as does much ot Tull's music.

  • to be quite honest i have never really liked jethro tull. but i have learned to like them as my partner does.

it was fun singing along to this. thanks for the lyrics :)

  • No problem at all, good you had fun.
