video's concern about number of shooting days stuff is rather petty. they may well have done the actual shooting with actors in 6 days . other days may have been the backdrop shooting etc
@maxflower13 - Hobos, yes! Thank goodness. I listened to it twice! I know hobos - Hobo Kelly was a childhood favorite. The modern age has warped my old brain, apparently.
movie needs serious kinky drunk sex scenes...they both were "living together in sin!"...it could have been depraved and torrid...(she should have been a satanist pervert!)
Also in The Shape of Things to Come, Greil Marcus discusses the life of Tom Neal, leading man in Detour, through the 50s and 60s to his untimely demise in the 1970s. Neal actually was convicted of murdering his wife in real life!
In his book The Shape of Things to Come (FSG 2006), cultural critic Greil Marcus says that David Lynch based Lost Highway almost entirely on Detour. Marcus has a quite a bit to say about Detour in his book. Marcus' essay is what brought me here.
Vera - evil manipulative hag that she was - still had a feminine vulnerability that I found touching. I love the way it ended: innocent man headed for the electric chair - no happily ever after, no reprieve. Great stuff.
What a charming, sharp and still pretty old lady Miss Savage was. Sorry to hear she just died. Love the way she spelled out "B-I-T-C-H" - ladylike behavior sadly gone the way of the dodo....
ANN SAVAGE - talented, gutsy, smart, and beautiful. True talent stands the test of time, and My Winnipeg validates Ann's staying power. She was one of the original tough, independent woman on screen.
thanks for the upload
ann and movie are great
