it isn't the only one for sure!. before the launch of the 8-series, there were a fiew 650's built, just to test the all new V12 engine and is't gearbox. they were never intended to be sold to the public. you can see them on youtube by the way.
Tizyy, Beautiful work on the 650! It seems like you could keep it pegged, right at the ragged edge all day long without hurting it. What engine mods did you do to make it so durable? Also, were you able to use the e24's stock transmission? If so did you need an adapter plat of some sort? I have 100 other questions, but I'll stop here.

This is sweet I was just wondering if it could be done. Because there are quite a few of these cars for a reasonable price on ebay and I was thinkingwouldn't it be sweet ifyou could drop a v12 from a 850 into it and tweak it for maximum hp. Looks like that's what you've done here. Awesome!!!
it depands... Usually it´s not that difficult to change the engine. Then u will need to change clutch, brakes, add LDS and new exhaust system. If u wanna put the V12 to the E24 there´s just one thing that makes problem - there´s no space under the hood for V12 so u will need to add some space

Well I'm contemplating doing that or possibly installing a small block Chevy V8. I wonder how much power the stock manual transmission will handle?

If you go for a v8 why not use a m60, it can make great power, and as a BMW engine its a better fit.
