@Zy959 sorry you must've not seen Kuroda win 2 rounds IN A ROW...? Pro Tournament and standard is 2 out of 3. It seemed like a casual setting between two friends just playing more rounds per match Vs something like a tournament setting...OBVIOUSLY! Hence why its 3 ou of 5 instead of the always standard 2 out of 3. Technically Kuroda won bcuz he finished him in 2 rounds, one after the other. Just wasn't sure if you noticed that or not?
@ShoTheNinja Nah Oro only uses one arm when he fights to prevent himself from killing his opponent, lol i thought he was one armed as well when i first played him.
Ladies in gentleman i give you every low tier players worst nightmare a 9-1 match up or atleast im sure this is a 9-1 match up against Q also Makoto is a 9-1 and they really show.
@doozer667 I did Q is low tier as all hell and Oro makes him look like a fool one of if not the best Q looking like a fool. You obviously dont understand match ups.
@ManowarHeigou Do you even know what a 9-1 matchup looks like? Akuma vs. Zangief in SSF2T is 9-1. There aren't any matchups in 3rd Strike that are that bad. Chun apparently has a few 8-2 matchups, but those make a 9-1 look like a cake walk.
@TheGreatReptar I may have exaggerated i heard somewhere makoto vs Q is 9-1 though. But o well 8-2 is awful. Also the akuma thing is kinda a bad example cus hes banned in tourney play in SSF2T.
@ManowarHeigou How exactly does him being banned in tournaments (in the US only, in case you didn't know, Japan only frowns on his usage) have anything to do with his Zangief matchup being an example of a 9-1 matchup?
@ManowarHeigou Wait, Oro is 9-1 across the chart? I thought Yun, Chun-Li were top-tier.~ I thought he was so weak that most people didn't even bother using him in tournaments.
@ManowarHeigou Oh ya totally, he has just as much life/vitality as everyone else. He also has random invincibility frames as well. Ya he's broken good.
@stretchypants123 Oro has Avg. Defense which is 1150 or 1120 one or the other just like Chun & Elena. Everyone has the same health, its the Defense ranking that separates them all.
Oddly enough I don't think most Q's don't know how much of an advantage Oro has in this matchup. It's probably his easiest matchup, though Oro doesn't really RAPE anyone, even Q. And while Thanatos isn't exactly the cleanest player, his skill should be obvious. None of this "I hate Oro" bologna, he's a hard execution character and you should respect people who work to get good with him. I wouldn't say he's the hardest character to use, though.
Oro power! My favorites are Hirochan and Dirty♪ but I mad respect Thanatos. I don't understand his playstyle, it seems like he's doing random shit and then all of a sudden he's doing a stun-only juggle on reaction to an anti air fireball, or a ground crossup after air to air MK. He's really skilled and unpredictable but it's hard to tell if you don't know what to look for.
Dirty Music is the best oro to watch if you actually want to learn to play him. I learned semi-professional oro purely off of Dirty's two beasting vids and Jinrai's oro guide, plus my own observations. PM me if you want to learn everything I know.
i remember i was at otakon this year and i was playing this with my gf i was using Q and got pwned everytime,i thought he just sucked but now i see i just fail...V_V
Naw, don't worry :) Q is a bottom tier character and one of the worst. Kuroda is just such an amazing player which is why- his mindgames, predictions and execution is pretty godlike!
It's much more entertaining to watch mid or low tiers with skill face off than to watch some faggy Ken mirror match (no offence to any possible Ken-fags out there, I know there are other top tiers but Ken is just so damn basic and easy to play with).
Ken, EASY TO PLAY? While i agree that his moves are basic and easily laid out, he's by no means easy. The really good kens have to mix their games up so much, with so many wannabees just trying to go at his metagame. It's one thing to have a good character but you still need a good player behind them
I agree with you about watching low/mid tier players though, this match was epic
The worst is Chun li players, regardless of level.
Look at Justin Wong. The "best" (or at least that faggot thinks so). He can parry occasionally and reads his opponent right once in a while. Whoopee. If Chun wasn't so exploitable, and required more then the HEAVY KICK BUTTON to turtle, he'd suck ass. Point and case? Street fighter IV (to an extent, he won nationals, but Diago rolled him).
And for the record I play Yang and Ryu. Roshi is ftw <3
You do know that he's doing extremely well at alot of tournaments, not only Third Strike right? >_> Also, you shouldn't be whining here, both Yang and Ryu are pretty easy to learn compared to most other characters in Third Strike.
The games not only about parrying. Wong has really good zoning if you watch his chun-li, often keeps a safe distance and turtling is tough when you're playing against pro's. Its hard being defensive while someones tossing a million mixups at you. Chun-Li definately is overpowered but wong uses more than feirce kick. His gamestyle is more building meter for SA and more often than not uses a low mid to chain into it. There are better chun-lis out there but Wong is still a great player
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
either the guy playing is greek, which would be new because I thought I was the only greek SFIII player, or he just picked a cool name by calling himself thanatos.
Oro is a nasty son of a bitch, he was played cheaply and without finesse here, disgusting to watch. Q player here got antsy and lost, threw away his last sa, could have used it to escape... But seriously the first and 3rd sa for q suck a fatty, the 2, deadly double is really where its at. Unless you prefer ex moves...
I disagree. The second sa for Q is by far the hardest to pull off, and the third I have to say is probably the most useful, because there are two grabs and then if you're running out of time you can just sacrifice some of your life for a lot of the opponents, not to mention ive found that people tend to defend a lot when the 3rd sa is used which means grabs are way easier. The first is the easiest to surprise people with and the easiest to combo into, whereas the second one is only when defendin
well..... very unrealalistic. i no its a video game but still. they dont really look like classic street fighter characters. a demamted old man and some big ass zombie with a metal face? its okay to have a few messed up characters but not as many as this game :/
OK. At least you're not complaining about the gameplay. You simply dislike how the characters look. I was expecting something like "Yun's Genei Jin is (blah)" or "Chun Li is (blah)." I don't know why you're complaining that it's too "unrealistic" compared to the old games, though. It's not like anyone in real life can throw a "Hadouken" or a "Yoga Fire" or obscenely stretch their limbs.
I think Oro is definitely more realistic then some of the classic SF characters like Dhalsim or Blanka or T. Hawk(Is he bigger compared to Hugo I wonder?).

Actually they slow down stun because of something called damage scaling. Check out Oro's 100% stun combo. All you do is get oro's leg to hit but not the rocks. None of oro's attacks will reset the opponent while he has EX tengu activated so he can do stun juggles without the stun, which builds stun quickly.
Q's moves are so slow that unless he used the jab or short (which wouldn't have caused enough damage to win the round), he could have missed Oro altogether if not using the Critical Combo Attack. Kuroda survives so well as Q that it's unlikely he won't build the super bar back up again. He's very strategic, and accurate.
I play Q pretty seriously and I'm a HUGE Kuroda fan, but that match was a bit disappointing.. not because he lost, but because of his performance. Some supers looked like they shouldn't have come out, and he didn't hit confirm half of his dashes into SC.. he probably played for like 15 hours straight and was tired lol.
It's the ability to notice when one of the moves you threw out landed with a hit instead of being blocked or parried, and reacting fast enough to link that hit into a combo or super.
There's alot of tricks to help.. first looking for visual signs of the hit (like the bubbles next to their reeling heads haha), then the part that takes practice:
Ex: Q's dash punch. Instead of charging back then fwd+punch, you charge back then half circle forward+punch, and then usually a quarter circle forward right after hitting punch. Why? So that if you notice a hit, you just hit punch to activate super. The two rotations have already been done.. one inside the dash punch (but fast enough so the back forward still executed). Crazy!
because each time he taunts his vitality increases. By the 3rd taunt he basically has 38% more life, making him the most resilient fightr in the game by a mile. He can soak up as much damage and he can dish out the pain just as bad.
I just wish he wasn't so slow! Although, that makes punishing people with him all the more satisfying.

Q's taunt increases his defence by 33%. If he gets it off 3 times before getting hit, he has effectively twice as much life.
And Q doesn't take much more than others to stun. Got a friend who plays Alex, I should know.

surely if he gets it off at the start of the round he has err, 1.33x as much health, not effectively 2x.

It's best of five. Not best of six. The most matches that they will have is five.

i don't even own this game and he annoys the crap out of me from just this one video!
I hate Oro too!

Bad reason to hate people. I like Q very much, and I'm not a big fan of Oro, but you can't just hate something without knowing about it!

Oro has an infinite, Q doesn't.
TheFairSex 4 years ago
It's not an infinite if it takes meter. The very nature of a finite amount of time in which to perform the tengu combo makes it finite.

I dont know, Oro doesnt have that great of pokes if you ask me :P
MrNomad 5 years ago
Actually, Kuroda does that a lot, usually to escape out of corners.
SFNerd 5 years ago
Oro is hardly low tier. This is actually a pretty lousy match-up for Q.
And how old is this exactly? It's not like Kuroda to toss out random supers like that.
