  • mi hermoso brian jones

  • Most people are special but only a few are really special Its just a shame what makes the few so special is there sensitivity They can pick up allmost ever positive and negative emotion around them and there being so much negativity in life consumes them and in turn they lash out and become negative Its a shame That people view them as weak but really there jealous that there not as gifted so they write them off as crazy and shun them instead of embrace them They just wanna be loved- Rip Brian

  • Like I said, "just asking," I guess I'll have to find a reason to go on living despite your assessment.

  • He was handsome, talented and self destructive...Drugs took place instead of music in his last days...Pity.He accually was the victimof his time..Excessive drug usage was very common on that time for the musicians more than nowadays...

  • he was 1 of the 1st in womens clothing

  • The period with Mick Taylor was their best ...hence the track from Exile on Main Street (arguably their finest recording)

  • Today 42 years ago of Brian's death. R.I.P

  • thumbs up if your wathing this in 2011 and your a teenager and you've been inspired by brians work

  • Just asking, why would we use a song from the Mick Taylor era as soundtrack to a Brian Jones tribute?

  • @ih8tbush you idiot, this song was written about Brian, listen to the lyrics. haha.

  • i'd say that alcohol and downers is what caused brian's downfall

  • A true genius, like many geniuses he was misunderstood, to progressive for the times. He tried to open up his mind with drugs, and like many of those who did, he didn´t make it back to the reality.

    Rest in Peace dude.

  • te extraño y no t puedo olvidar brian eres el mejor hermosoooo.

  • :( , we miss you Brian ! Thanks for this beautiful video of my favorite Rolling Stones <3

  • Brian Jones was the best Rolling Stone.

thats why I made a tribute for him and the 27 club

  • I love you Brian Jones

  • (I've had my job 2 weeks longer than Brian's life lasted. Time flies. Adulthood's a bitch.) Brian was the master of the "Chess Records Encyclopedia of Backup Guitar". By late 1965 he was either doing the "color" (sitar, marimba, recorder) on tunes, or not participating at all, with Keith playing all the guitar parts. "Brian stuff" is tighter & more rooted than anything since.

  • "When this you see, remember me

and bear me in your mind..

Let all the world say what they may,

Speak of me as you find" Brian Jones

  • not a fraction of what Keith has! haha thats laughable

  • Brian Jones - Lewis Brian Hopkin Jones (28 February 1942 -- FOREVER)

  • Poignant tribute. Beautifully constructed video.

  • Brian was a very talented musician. Unfortunately he suffered from depression and

may have been bipolar. All this does not mix well with drugs and alcohol. The drug busts were brutal to his fragile state. Death was very suspicious... wonder if we will ever know?

  • i wish i had blown my mind in 1966

  • The first, the real, the only Rolling Stone

  • Thanks for this.

Brian was a unique and gifted musician. He pushed boundries but stayed true to his blues roots. A one-off......xxxx

  • 3 july. 1971 jim morrison 3 july 1969 .brian jones GREAT MANS

  • Jones was by far the best musican in The Rolling Stones. But he couldn't write songs, and Jagger and Richards could. I think they edged him out of his former leadership role of the band, and that pushed him even more to get loaded to the point where he could no longer contribute. The last album he really contributed to was Beggars Banquet. The Stones only made two or three great albums after his death.

  • @frank47hammer We'll never know that. In Jones time with the band, only Bill Wyman wrote a song that appeared on an album and that was because they were all fried and going through court cases. Brian co-wrote Ruby Teusday and wrote a movie soundtack. Being insecure about his stuff and knowing they would get rejected by the glimmer twims would have just fed his paraonoia. I beleive such a good musician would have had GREAT ideas. Maybe not in the Stones style but surely would found an audience

  • @genericgeorge Thanks for the info. I agree.

  • Gorgeous 0:31

  • 1:03 is the cutest thing I've ever seen!

  • Great video!! Thanks for posting..

  • Jagger had to contractually be in Australia for a movie; Richards knew it would be circus. That's why they didn't go.

  • Stones keep Rolling

  • All my LOVE!!!!!!

  • Brian Jones Not Dead

  • Love you Brian, you're my big hero.

  • Brian was not perfect but who was, He appeals because he struggled, he did not fit. He was interesting, so clever, so screwed up. I find him the most interesting, Keith is just a cartoon character who got lucky. He doesnt have a fraction of what Brian had.

  • @HP281 truer words have never been spoken.

  • @HP281 Come on Keith IS the Stones. Brian was very good but they carried on without him just fine

  • @genericgeorge

shut your face- keith turned INTO brian

  • @genericgeorge you seriously don't know shit

  • @kaka9419 tell me what i dont know and explain why

  • @genericgeorge i meant to say it to @HP281 sorry not you

  • @HP281

i agree with everything you said

  • since his death, the stones lost their soul

  • tears stepping in my eyes - thank's ~~~ it is really long ago - really really really tx - and dont' forget the boys in the band - Between the buttons :-)

  • Beautiful slideshow, he was such a great artist.

And since it's been a while, I'll just answer in my post.

boomerlesterok, the movie Stoned, is about the early Stones, and is focussed on Brian, it's a pretty good movie(it's historical fiction though, so don't view it as an absolute truth-type deal).

  • All these years later and people are still talking about him, thats quite an achievement. He isnt here to speak for himself so who knows. Most of us act like twats when we are really young and he was, he never had a chance. Very talented boy just lost his path.

  • I have a friend named Brian Jones lmaooo

  • Brian ...le regard perdu !!!

  • Brian was perfect.

  • Oh dear lord no he wasn't.

  • perfet song for this video....almost sends a tear to my eye, that this songs about him too

  • did they ever do a movie about the early years of the rs?

  • shine a light!!! brian jones et son regard perdu!!!! le dandy ultime le "mod" absolu!!!!! et un grand musicien!!! il suffit de réecouter "lirttle red rooster" des stones fan tas tik!!!!

  • i like that song!!!! but i don't know what is the name of this song?:( can somebody please tell me the titel of this song? please!!!!

  • "Shine A Light" off of Exile On Main Street

  • Brian looks like a total dandy. In fact he could be his girlfriend Anita's identical twin.

  • they were great with brian and taylor also but brian was the real stone the real article how ever he was a bad person nobody puts all those drugs i his mouth he was a pervert he wrote before his death dont judge me so hardly but at he same time he is the best stone ever

  • The period with Brian was their best....

  • i like more the period of mick taylor..their best albuns

  • @fuzzblow it is no coincident that the stones' best music was from 62-69 IMO.... the years with brian jones. he may have been difficult to deal and sacking him from the band was probably right at the time and despite the stones going on haivng a great career for a further 40 years.. they still rely heavily on their songs from the 60s that Brian helped create with his fantastic range or instrument playing ability! yes theve made good music since, but not as good as the 60s!!!

  • Happy b-bday

  • R.I.P Brian

  • what song is that?

  • It's "shine a light" from the album"exile on main st." (1972)

  • july 3 1969 truly a SAD DAY!

  • Before Jenise...before Jimi...there was Brian!

  • Ich Leibe Dich, Brian.

  • I love his smile

  • If the tumultuous life and tragic death of Brian Jones is important to you, see "Truly Blue: The Promo"

    Bless ya Brian!

  • R.i.P

  • Waaaasstted at 1:15

  • brian thank you for what you did to for me i promised to visit your tomb some day i wish i could be there.but so grateful i am from the bottom all my heart .rip

  • Brian was able to play more then 20 different musical instruments. In one life time, this is a miraculous accomplishment. For a man of 27, he gave birth to a legend. And no one has done that yet after him. Mick and Keith would be nothing with out the man with golden hair.

    And the teardrop guitar.

May your soul find the peace it needs and thank you for inspiring me to learn guitar. :)

I love you Brian. Thank you for so much.

Thank you for the Legend of a lifetime.

  • Mick Jagger and (especially) Keith Richards are two of the most talented song writrs of all time. Brian may have formed the band, but Mick and Keith wrote virtually all of the songs and were therefore the most important memebers of the group (Brian was a great muscian, though.

  • Brian is BEST ♥

  • Since he died the Stones are far arway from being really great.

  • why his's fruggin serious than keith(which is already a voodoo)

    and brian is the leader

why he dislike credit himself in the early stones day?

  • brian was a brillian musician wasn't he guys?!

according to a youtube user called -

jaimeguitar50 he could only play barrechord on the guitar. and he couldn't do anything else, couldn't read music, nothing.

send him a message telling him what brian really was (a musical genius) to keep brians genius alive!

    long live the king.

    r.i.p brian x

  • why brian so genius

but only write one song(tuby tuesday) in Stones?

  • he composed a lot more than that but he was never really credited. he did the music for stuff like shes a rainbow, no expectations, lady jane, dandilion, factory girl and loaads more he just wasnt credited for his efforts much because jagger started to dislike him - i think because he was jealous brian got the attention from girls, brian was a brilliant musician.

  • because he added the stones sound in the sixties and could play was multi -talented musician who could learn a lot of instruments to play in a matter of hours!

  • Was this song shine a light written about Brain?

  • Rock 'n' Roll se lleva en la sangre un sentimiento bien adentro!!

Brian jones Jimi Hendrix Son unos idolos.

  • has oido my little one?? bueno si d verdad son tus idolos seguro has oido esa pieza

    es la mejor!

  • Brian was the true musician of that band.

Mick is a good front man and can sing,

but he can't compare to Brian

  • Happier days...peace, everyone!

  • the true rolling stone.

    R.I.P YOU LOVELY MAN!!!!

  • you were the greatest brian!

  • capo viejaaa!!!! sos el primero y el ultimo rolling stone chavon! a la verga con el puto de jagger

  • When a person says The Rolling Stones they respond, "oh yeah with Jagger and Richards" although they are correct they are forgetting the most important(and founder) of The Rolling Stones-Mr. Brian Jones!!

People need to give him a lot more credit, because he was amazing, No Jones No Stones!

    RIP Brian <3

  • damn straight!

brian was tyhe founder and a musical genius. then that cunt jagger destroyed him and stole his band!

  • brian was a dear talented boy and extremely handsome but as Andy Gibb he killed himself, not strong enough to confront life they were?nobody destroyed him lovely boy. who could work w/ somebody in the state that he was.

  • it wasn't all his fault, he had bipolar and living with bipolar is very hard especially non medicated, but brian medicated it with drugs and music. if he wasn't bipolar i think things would of been very different. it was bipolar that killed him, when he went into an episode and nothing felt like it was worth living for, mick put him down all the time and took his band away from him.

he was an amazing talent. much better than say lennon or someone.

r.i.p brian - we love you

  • his bipolar destroyed him.

  • No, ít was a little bit more complicated than that...

  • hmmmmm care to expand on that?????

  • I just meant that his bipolar alone didn't destroy him. Drugs, a broken heart and the fact that he got backstabbed by Mick, Andrew and especially Keith also contributed to his destruction.

  • You folks must have known him well. Is there nothing else you can torment your brain with?

  • Sadly no... Brain is tormented with lots of music. Being a Brian-fan is just a small part of it. Don't worry. ;)

  • I wouldn't be so quick to judge-- none of us had to deal with him everyday like Mick and Keith did, and all accounts Brian was a prima donna. btw, Andrew was out of the picture by the time he was sacked.

  • Brian was horrible in some ways and a very nice person in others. He was not innocent - that's for sure. When I blame Mick, Keith and Andrew (and Klein - I forgot him) it's because of the way they worked to make Brian a minor figure in the band i.e they took his band from him. Brian took the RS to the charts and worked hard to do it. But when "the Glimmer Twins" started to write songs there's was no room for Brian anymore. His way of dealing with it was to take drugs.

  • its ok he'll re-spun out into heaven........who knows, maybe its him writing this now....tee hee

  • yes he does i had experiences of communication back in 1970 he guided me.i was 13 now i still have psychic experiences.but not so strong as before

  • bria jones wll be a rolling stones bless you you are die i am 5 years olds and since i love the stones i have 10 yea ol when i hard the since i can't wake up morning without lstening stones

  • brian jones

    brian jonestown massacre

  • When he died, we died with him !

  • In Tony Sanchez's excellent book, 'Up and Down with the Rolling Stones,' he gives an account of Brian and the boys in New York City (I think) and Brian, wearing a full-length mink coat, lets it fall open and, being naked, began masturbating while the other Stones watched. Jagger reportedly delighted in this shame.

I've done shameful things in my life that I've regretted, and so I suspect it was impulsive stuff like that which caused him to want to erase the pain via too much drugs and alcohol.

  • nice

  • Jimi Hendrix...not Jimmy Page,idiot!

  • don´t forget jimi hendrix

  • Ask Anita Pallenberg or Uschi Obermaier ,Keith Richards ,even Mick..

we shared everything that time,Brian is alive.....right now....!

  • ...AND he had the prettiest Lips.

  • listen folks, brian jones was not murdered, what happened was, frank dunks brian's head a few times, gets in brian's face and says something like, "you're a nothing, a nobody, your band is gone, your girl is gone, you cant write songs, you cant sing, you can barely play guitar u doped out freak" and at that instant brian told himself "yes frank you're right" and when frank dunked him again, brian said fock it, ive had enough, and took a nice deep breath of pool water.

  • I have read in numerous places that he's been sticking to wine & was paranoid about illicit drugs. As for prescription medication, I'm not sure.

He was indeed a blues man & did start The Rolling Stones. He WAS decieved by lots of people, but he too had decieved a lot of people. He peaked too early.

Keith was only on smack for 10 years. They've had a couple of decent albums since '74, but to my mind their 'peak' was the Mick Taylor years.

  • ya Brain was stoned alot. but so was Mick and keith. the stabbed brian in the back. Keith was a heroin addict for 25 years for Gods sake, taylor made up for Brians absence by making the stones the greatest live band in the world but after he left. they have been shit ever since. I love old stones but they havnt ,made a decent record since 1974

  • He was indeed young & a gifted musician. Genius? I doubt it. A true genius is able to channel their abilities.

They tend not to beat women, rip-off their bandmates, be so off their head that they constantly miss gigs even though the world's at their feet.

He was on his way back as far as drink & drugs, but I don't think he had anywhere to go musically.

He was murdered alright. Had he not been I still believe he would not have made old bones.

  • drinking was only getting worse as far as i know due to the lack of drugs. and musically he was a blues man through and through, the stones were getting away from the blues into rock n roll, where the money was at and that lead to tension on both sides.

to the best of my knowledge

  • The way that he played slide guitar on "Jig-saw Puzzle"...Brian,a genius passed away a long time ago.

  • Hail Brian Jones, leader of the Stones, always! Mick did him in as surely as Yoko did John in. Then had the nerve to celebrate in his pretty white dress.

  • Brian Jones lived a seriously hardcore drugged up life, and charlie watts was that suprised to see him die at 27? I mean despite all the drugs and alcohol he drank, he died in a fucking pool... if the drugs wouldnt have killed him, some other accident while being way too intoxicated just as easily could have. Charlie watts is a fucking idiot. Morrison, Joplin, and Hendrix died at the same age, about the same time, it wasnt fucking uncommon.

    Fame+Fortune=Drugs-thinking=death

  • Charlie Watts was young in that time too. It's great difference between losing friend when you're young and when you're adult. When you're young it's unexpected and fucking shocking even if your friend treats like Jones, Joplin, Morrison and other.

  • Charlie Watts was young in that time too. It's great difference between losing friend when you're young and when you're adult. When you're young it's unexpected and fucking shocking even if your friend treats like Jones, Joplin, Morrison and other.

  • Keith Richards and Mick Jagger didn't even go to Brian's funeral, and they were his best friends. Some friends. At least Charlie went, he's a friend.

  • brian,

l'origine des stones c'est toi, le meilleur musicien et arrangeur c'est toi, tu es et tu resteras l'âme des stones!!!!

  • como se llama esta cancion????

  • Shine a light on you

  • Brian Jones was having his house redone at the time of his death... was apparently of drugs and known as a strong swimmer. On his deathbed, builder Frank Thorohood confessed to killing Jones by saying "I did Brian"

  • I heard that story as well!

He apparently heard him calling for his 'help'; well he 'helped him die' !

  • Brian Jones was the founder of the Rolling Stones. Brian's swimming pool death was not accidental. This is not a "new" revelation - murky details about the death have been scrutinized pretty much since the day after it happened in July 1969.

  • I read somewhere that Jones had the ability to pick up pretty much any musical instrument and be proficient at playing it within a half hour. But I also read where Charlie Watts stated that they had to cut him because his talent as a musician wasn't up to snuff.

So I'm not sure what to think (except that the girls seem to adore him because of his looks).

  • I heard the same thing about the instrument proficiency but I also heard that the reason he was not "up to snuff" after a while, was bc he was taking too many drugs. I guess to be that proficient he had to leave drugs alone.

  • Brian was one of the most handsome men I 've ever known!

  • el numero 1. Capaz de lo mejor y de lo peor

  • i'm not homosexual but Brian Jones was the best lookin Rolling Stone

  • Yupe, by far, AND he was the best dresser, too.

  • that's not saying much; jaggar and richards looked extremely ragged, even in their youth

  • brian jones , el alma de los stones. saludos desde argentina y muchas gracias por estas hermosas fotos. good bye my friend

  • Which song is it?

    RIP Brian!!

  • The song is Shine a light, from the fantastic Exile on main street.

  • Brian Jones was awesome. So many instruments that he knew how to play. Awesome.

  • He certainly had the best hair!!!

  • ok!!! my babe!!

    tudo certo!!!!!!!!

    obrigado""

  • Thank you Brian Jones for showing it is possible for a blond man to make it in the music industry!

  • Another musician who died at 27? What is it about that year and musicians dying. RIP Brian!

  • Brian was a true and great stone.

  • rock with god brian alan runcorn

  • I thought about Brian on the 39th anniversary of his death. I was only 10 when he died...what a beautiful, talented, sensitive soul. RIP Lewis Brian Hopkin-Jones.

  • His girlfriend at 00:36 looks just like Sienna Miller. which is a fucking good thing because both of those chicks are fucking are and i bet they have some nice tight clits. Cheers and drink Heineken,.

  • what?? you have been watching too much porn - this is about a great man and his music not an opportunity for you to express your sexual frustration....

  • este era el mejor stone pero lastima ya no esta

  • What a beautiful remembrance!

  • do we have to listen to mick jagger while we are watching this?

Jagger is one of those that killed him.

  • brian would have remained a stone if he wasn't gone. he was kinda like syd barrett the only difference was he died young. and nothing? u call let it bleed, ya yas out, sticky, and exile nothing? some girls, emotional, tattoo nothing? i beg to differ.

  • brian was only 27 that's to yong poor brian rip brain

  • fkn sex on legs ... love you brian x x bless u xxx

  • RIP

  • THE BEST STONES MUSIC WAS BECAUSE OF THIS MAN! RIP...

    (my opinion of course)

  • Yes it was. The albums he was on I have even early stuff. If he wasn't on an album I don't have it or want it.

  • RIP, beautiful Brian. Still miss you.

  • the best rolling stones music was when brian was alive, he was a genius

  • Brian Jones was considered the driving force behind the Rolling Stones from the bands early origin... He could literally play any musical instrument there was...His contribution to the Stones success was obvious..... I remember hearing about his passing in July of 1969 when I was 7 yrs old.... May Almighty God rest his soul.... Kerry

  • holy fuck, if that his his girlfriend at 00:37 sec then she looks exactly likes Sienna Miller.
