@FadeToPuppets Then he should start playing with his fingernail so his drumming could improve... Seriously - He's not even in the top 50. He only makes the top 100 because of his band's success - not necessarily on his own skills behind the kit. You are certainly entitled to your opinion and I admire your belief in your hero - but he does not have the critical acclaim of the drumming community - no matter what you write - that will never change.
Neil is defiantly up there. Most people confuse the "best drummer ever" for being able to play super fast. Neil is know for many of his complex rhythms that your average drummer, even some professional drummers can't play. What I see, is that you're just some asshole going around trolling on a video where obviously, everyone is going to have a different opinion than yours. Go appeal to a different audience.
@BlackKnight1100 This video is praising Neil Peart as an awesome drummer, and THAT is the opinion I have and shared. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, only children have to resort to name calling to try and prove a point. Lars doesn't make the top 25 drummers on most if not all commercially published "best of" lists. However, Neil Peart is usually 1st or 2nd on EVERY list. Do your research and learn something, and learn to respect others opinions without acting out and calling people names
@BlackKnight1100 Furthermore - I am not "trolling" on a video. I have been a subscriber of Rockbandmom for quite some time - she is a beginner like me and posts great videos - so before you call people names and make irrational statements you should get your FACTS straight.
@FadeToPuppets Check out this top 100 Drummers list from: everydrummer (dot com) 1. Neil Peart.... 57. Lars urlich. Every top 10 list has: Neil Peart, John Bonham, and Keith Moon - I've NEVER seen Lars make the top 10 of any best of list. 'nuff said.
@FadeToPuppets Come on - I Like Metallica, and Lars is good - but I don't think Lars would even make the top 25 list of living drummers today. Samantha Maloney is better than Lars, just my opinion though.
Why do people always neglect the metal drummers? Come on, I get that Neil Peart is awesome, but there are plenty of metal drummers that go way crazier than this guy does.
There are definitely living drummers who play at Neil Peart's level: Dennis Chambers Peter Erskine Steve Gadd Dave Weckl Carl Palmer Stewart Copeland Tony Royster Jr. Vinnie Colaiuta Bill Bruford and there are many I have certainly neglected to mention.
And to think his first "drum set" was a bunch of different magazines layed out on his bed that he would use as his "drums"... All three belong in the hall of fame.

I love 2:50. Neil throws up the stick, and misses, grabs another one and still makes the entrance! Great video!
