I don't see a big problem with sending a criminal to "the blessed isles" or sending the more promising kid to medical school (and the former example is especially suspect for being so bizarrely contrived). I must be a utilitarian, too.

I like this lecture although I'm a utilitarian, because of its brilliant down-to-earth luicidity and because of Roderick's excellent exposition of the bourgeois features of modern ethics.

I must say that Rick Roderick is a great lecturer. He did a very good job with explaining two complex realms of ethics: Kantian and Utilitarian. Terrific lecture!
