  • The Sennheisers performance was disappointing. Surprising.

  • @larspallesen

really? depends. for recording audio straight ahead only i could hear the speach and not so much surrounding sound. like when the girls were talking this mike picked up their words from quite far away and i could hear what they were saying. I own this mic and the mke400 and have to say the senheisser when set up on boom is slightly better than the rode (or at least as good )

  • " the 908C is excellent with a Rode "Deadkitten" added". is there a specific Rode Deadkitten that fits perfectly and snugly and well upon the 908C?

    Thanks! Marc

  • @PhenomenalWorld - I think there is only one "Dead Kitten", made for the Rode microphone (it is $25 plus shipping from B&H Photo, and excellent on the Sony 908C.

  • I think the Rode has the slight edge.

  • the something-dude rocked! great comparison btw!

  • I choose the rode stereomike

  • Very nice comparison. Although my sound system should be better, I would rate the SONY908 the smoothest. No. 2 would be the Sennheiser. No. 3 would be the Rode. The others I did not like at all.

  • "say soemthing!" "something" ^^

Excellent Mic test. It really gives a good overview about some of my candidates in action. I really liked the Rode Stereo Video Mic but also the Canon ZM 100. They sound very clear allthough i suppose the Rose Stereo has some more audible mids.

  • @KRAFTWERK2K6 "MOAAAAR" - "more" :3

  • The problem with this type of video is most people have crap for their PC sound system. Also YouTube isn't known for sound quality. But valiant effort. It was apparant that the Rodes sounded best. The video clarity is good for streaming video. I'd be curious to know what your upload settings were. Also your opinion on the best mic.

  • See the expanded comments with this video for the latter. As for the former, it was uploaded as 1280x720p, but I don't recall the format (HDV or AVCHD), sorry.
