  • Had a mouse gnaw hole in the bottom of a plastic cube full of oil, very messy job cleaning it all up. :)

  • Ever thought about heating the oil with the sun?

I assume you get some sun in southern cal..

I am planning on building a "solar oven" around my barrel...

  • Do you also use this pump for collecting oil at the restaurant??

I have the same pump. Different colour though. I was able to almost triple the speed of the pump...

Message me if you're interested. Fairly easy trick...

  • Hey Mate, Just a little bit of advice about your battery, because concrete contains lime it produces a small electrical charge that will slowly discharge your battery. So you might want to sit it on a piece of wood or something to get it off the floor.

  • i've watched quite a number of vids about wvo. after filtering what does one do with the nasty leftover water ? thank you for sharing.

  • @rocknrolldaddio

I tend to "donate" it to the local restaurant's waste oil reserves

  • Great video...2 questions:

    - Was the pan hot enough? Seems like you were putting your face awfully close without it bothering you?

    - What year is your VW?

  • @McKinoza

yes, the pan was at 350 degrees. hopefully there would be no splatter since there should be no water present. One can tell if there is water immediately and it is safe to get closer after the initial contact.

2002, I don't think one should use the PD engines which I think started mid 2003 model year

  • hey bud, enjoyed the vid,,,

  • Did just hear correctly, that you are liable for federal road taxes for making your own gas? That seems so unfair. Does this apply to electric cars as well?

  • You are correct both state & federal, "road tax" for the upkeep of the roads. I think federal is $.24/gallon & state of California is $.18 or vice-versa. Don't know how they are gonna deal with the electric car issue

  • @joebro32 hub meter on all electric vehicles for taxes. or orwellian gps tracking. however good luck on taxing fuels that are untraceable.

  • @circusboy90210

true, it is the honor system for most people. Although some folks have gotten a knock on their doors from the tax collector

  • @joebro32 truth is your supposedly allready paying road tax by having a tag on your vehicle. fuel tax is an extra tax. double taxation is supposedly illegal.

  • Comment removed

  • @joebro32 Taxes on an electric vehicle would be easy. If they assign a base rate for mileage lets say $0.01 per mile thats $100 for every 10,000 miles. That seems fair cuz if you do the math for a gas powered car that gets 32 mpg that travels 10,000 miles works out to be 312.5 gallons of fuel. Now 312.5 gallons of fuel being taxed at $0.42 a gallon works out to be $131.25. I'm content giving a $31.25 tax differential to people with electric cars. They're not killing me with the smog

  • Placing the battery directly on concrete shorten the life... put a piece of plywood between the battery and the floor.

  • The fry-pan test for water in the oil is great. Thanks for sharing.

  • The fry-pan test for water in the oil is great. Thanks for sharing.

  • it would be alot econmical to buy/find a computer power supply to run your 12V pump instead of useing a battery and a charger so when your battery fails that would be another suggestion nice set up! =)

  • you know, you could save a lot of time/trouble by just building your own centrifuge...

  • why are you using thirdeagles name? and then sending me videos? you are a imposter fake profile

  • why don't you just take the good advice. my name is not thirdeagles.

i laugh at people who don't use a centrifuge to filter WVO. such a waste of time. building a centrifuge is pretty easy too.

  • thirdeagles name is william tapely. you are pretending to be him. then you sent me several videos saying here is real prophecy

  • are you using regular under the sink filters? if not what kind are they and where could I get them?

  • You want to get that battery up off the concrete slab. The slab will discharge it. A piece of plywood or any other non-conductive material would do the trick.

  • That was with batteries 30 years ago. The new plastic don't allow seepage, thus grounding them out and draining them.

  • I would Like to share a little info with you ...You can get a 12 volt converter to run your pump(s) by using a computer Used power supply inside of the power supply box is 12V+/- and a 6 volt .All you have to do is use a magnifying glass to read inside which is which. I hope this helps....

  • car battery's on bare concrete will discharge.

  • see above

  • I used to love this stuff. I would be happy to just get 40mpg like a TDI. If I work one 8 hour day at my regular job I can buy at least 40 gallons of diesel. So even though I may still support "terrorists" :) I know that I wont have to put money into a WVO conversion, and possible engine damage down the road. And before too long used oil will be sold instead of given away free EVERYWHERE. There is already a company here in Boise, Idaho BUYING the oil from every local food joint.

  • I think that is a great idea. Thanks for the tip

  • Do you think it would be ok to use the pipe heater on a plastic drum?

  • I think that would be fine, though I don't think the heat transfer will be as great since it is not metal.

    Search the forums

  • Great Video- Is it ok to have the transfer pump before the filters. on board systems seem to have the filters on the suction side. So that the water will not turn in to an emulsion. Also put your 12v battery on a piece of wood to insulate it from the concrete, so it do not discharge. Thanks

  • I think you are right on both counts. Better to pull the liquid through the filter & thanks for the wood tip, I've heard about concrete draining batteries

  • Like the simplicity of it compared to your first one. I was wondering, do you have problems pooring the cubies into the system? With me the layer of fats and other unwanted debris that has formed at the bottom tends to want to flow out when pooring, making the whole settling process not so efficient! Have you got any tips there? Thanks

  • Yes that does happen but if I take my time to pour and keep the liquid as level as possible while pouring it lessens the bad stuff getting in. When I can no longer pour the good stuff I simply pour the sediment into a new resettling cubee.

Most people use the 7" wide filter socks. I went with the 5" but in hindsight I would use the 7" because it is easier to pour
