  • @knifenewbie456 It's an arrangement of the first movement of Prokofiev's "Romeo and Juliet" - "Montagues and Capulets"

  • Lindberg has his own publisher. Edition Tarrodi. Put that into a serach engine and it will come up. Any music listed on Lindberg's cds with Edition Tarrodi listed as a publisher should be available on the Tarrodi web site.

  • this piece is so good. i want this so badly but i cant find it in solo rep for trombone.. he must have put this together from trombone in piano... because i dont even recall prokofiev having a trombone solo either lol

  • @xXZapZipXx This was arranged specifically for this occasion or at least specifically for Lindberg. You might be able to find sheet music on his website but otherwise i don't think you'll have much luck :/

  • @OMGedInStoresNearYou

Try hickeys.com. They have most of his stuff.

  • @xXZapZipXx They don't sell it anywhere your best bet is to listen to it a lot and try to figure it out

  • if anyone would like a transcription of the first piece lindberg plays here, message me.

  • @ThatDevilishOne ey brother yo quiero una pudes pasarmela por favor

  • What a joy to watch!!!!!! Lindberg is the spiritual leader of classical music today!!!!!!!

  • Christian Linberg is probably the most important musician in classical music. He has the highest standards with the highest and purest enthusiasm.

  • BUM ba bum ba BUM ba bum ba bum ba bum ba BUM BUM Ba bum ba BUM ba bum Ba BUM ba bum ba BUM BI BUM BI BUM BIIII BI BUM BI BUM BIII

  • Incredible !!Incredible !!

  • amazing =)

  • You don't like his vibrato because it's not trombone vibrato. He started on trumpet and I think he carried over vibrato from that when he switched. It's much faster than standard trombone vibrato and wider

  • the only thing I don't like about this guy is his vibrato.. but it's what sets him apart from everyone else. this guy knows his stuff. I want to become as good as him one day.

  • Which Trombone and mouthpiece did he used for his first album Lindberg,Christian virtuoso trombone would someone tell me please?

  • @MadFireHat a Conn 88H trombone with the bell sawn off and replaced by a custom one crafted by Larry Minnick. He also played on a custom Minnick mouthpiece. Since Minnick has been dead for decades, you will never get to own a trombone like that...

  • A beautiful piece of music well performed!!!

  • he is amazing , every one should respect this man , !!

  • I wonder how many times he has shat himself in the middle of a performance. He looks like he has at points. It all adds to the virtuosity!

  • Gota love the dark theme to this song.

    I whant it.

  • where can I get the sheet music for romeo and Juliet montagues and capulets???????????

  • @jazzman09876 Check out "virtualsheetmusic-dot-com" - if they don't have it, they'll give you the option of checking out several other sheet music websites, either for the printable sheet music, or in a book of tunes. Good luck!

  • My director... dislikes Mr. Lindberg very much. Not only that, he hates anything having to do with Lindberg.

It's painful ): To say the least. I love him, he's probably my favorite trombonist.

  • @anthonyritchie your director's just jealous.

  • Is there nothing this genius can't do!!

  • @crazyrobotsrock7

He can sound very powerful at times, if the music calls for it. But he's still an amazing musician.

  • @crazyrobotsrock7

I agree, but he has style.

  • you should probably watch listen to him live before you can accurately judge how full his sound is

  • I own a Bach Stradivarius and the trigger is reall bugging me. It keeps flopping pitches when I change notes and use T1 and T2. Any suggestions?

And what's with the all the hype of the Lindberg moutpieces?

  • i have a 42BO, works fine

check your valve, it may be leaking, out of alignment, busted, and whatnot

i also use a Christian Lindberg 2CL, one of the best mouthpieces i've ever used (and i have gone through hundreds since i started using it)

if you can, try a 5CL in your strad, as the bores in our trombones are very open compared to conns and kings

  • @brassexpert

    I have the same.

I don't think it's busted but maybe out of alignment. Maybe leaking. I'll get it checked with my teacher. Thanks a ton!

I'm wanting to try one. But like not have to buy it or anything. Just sit down and try out several. Thanks for replying. Helps a lot!

  • Where could somebody find the sheet music for this? This is an amazing solo.

  • @ub3rd00d Transcribe it :-)

  • este tio es el puto amo!

  • where could i the sheetmusic for the first song?

  • These have got to be the stupidest comments I have ever read.

  • @posaune1220 u should look at the gryfinndor rally cry from harry potter

  • great low notes, realy blend well

  • are there any mp3 recordings of this arrangement? i'm in love with it!

  • Yes there is a recording of Christian playing this piece on his album "THe Russian Trombone".

  • well I am a trombone player as well and i would like to point out that you cant tune bad tone quality. so improve you tq by using a better breath. my band director has been teaching us the wedge breath, which is actually a yoga breath that was used by billy shoe the trumpet player, he was recommended that breath by maynard feguson. Yeah I know Im spouting out trumpet players but the breath works on anything from trumpet to oboe, it's an extremely versatile technique. ask your director about it

  • aight, im 15, and for my age, i would say i am i good trombone player. if i were to major in music, how would i achieve that? anyone?

  • practice practice practice practice haha

  • You won't. The best trombonist in the world has probably never picked up a trombone and never will. The next best trombonist in the world plays his heart out every day, and will never be discovered. Lindberg is who he is because he is an amazingly outgoing, self-promoting person. All the talent in the world won't acheive what you hear from him.

  • good and bad tipps here. few ideas though. you can tune with your mouth, some don't recommend it because it distrubs your sound and tone, you can also tune with the slide and by using alternative slide positions, they (don't always) work the best. you can actualy use your air support as a type of tuner, but doesn't work all that well. don't use beginner trombones as a saver theory. they usualy play out of tune until they are finaly taught the importance of tuning the horn. i am a t-bone player

  • Comment removed

  • cool arrangement

  • trombone is not east to tune, yes the posistions are relatively the same but for say you have your middle Bb tuned perfect your middle F is going to be sharp.

and to the guy who said you cant be out of tune on trombone has obviously never heard a beginer trombone! i dont know why but all these people saying stuff about trombone that doesnt make sence mainly "megapuddin" kinda makes me mad.

learn the trombone and what it can do befor you make yourself seem stupid,

  • Comment removed

  • Excuse me, when you have a doctorate in music education and performance, and have actually become good at playing the trombone then you can say that I do not make sense. Until then don't bash on what you can't comprehend.

  • dude whether you have those degress or not doesnt mean you can sit there and tell people that they cant be out of tune on trombone. As far as tuning in an ensemble is concerned you need to watch for horns then trombones then everybody else. trombones tend to rush to adjust faster due to a more developed ear. so on that note take your doctorite and shove it because YOU obviously dont comprehend what a trombone is suposed to sound like in tune.

  • Wow, you're a veryyyy ignorant person! If you don't have anything nice to say then,,,don't say it. I hope your as good as your cocky mouth is!

  • My little brother used my account (i'm a percussionist). Also, You're one to talk about ignorance. The last time I checked very wasn't spelled with four Y's, you used "your" out of context. The word you were probably looking for is "you're" as in you are...

  • if you really have a doctorate in music you would know better than to make that comment that you did, i may still be in high school but i plan to minor in music in college and major in medical, i just thought what you said didnt make sence.

and sorry about bashing on you, i judged to quickly. theres too many kids on youtube saying crap that doesnt make sence

  • haha, you're a kid too kid. This is a message to all the fools making stupid ass comments on this video. It is impossible to be perfectly in-tune on any instrument including the tuning-fork (which is probably all you'll ever play). Obviously you can move a slide closer to in tune, but what really affects the sound is the musculature in your face. This is also why great trumpet players are usually in-tune. Lindberg uses mad vibrato anyways, and so is never in-tune but always revolving around it.

  • impossible to be in tune?

mabey when your playing a ballad or some other piece, but you can be in tune.

and if you couldnt why would they make tuning slides?

theres 2 ways you can answer that

1)so were closer in tune all the time(true)

2)so we can be PERFECTLY in tune with one note say F. tuning fork haha i play over 5 instruments.the embachure does affect the sound i can agree with you on that man, but the tuning issue is our own opinion nice arguing with you = ]

    later!

  • you cannot be perfectly in tune. "In tune" is a frequency of such minute specifications that no one could ever be perfectly in tune. Your muscle fibers twitching will cause you to waver at micro-frequencies, and thus, you'll never be in tune. Look it up dude. "In Tune" is a frequency per pitch that is written down somewhere, but only achievable at infinately small portions of time as your wavering passes through that frequency. thus you can be around a pitch, but never achieve it. • Plus I have no idea how he's getting those high notes so incredibly clearly. Is it the mouthpiece, or the fact that he's completely awesome? Or both?

  • i think its just him personally, he is pretty aweome haha CL FTW!

  • Yeah he's the stuff alright. How does he play in tune you asked? Listening, having good ears, practice! He's a one man show.

  • and on the bell touch you arent supposed to do because it dampens the vibration of the bell and the whole muscle memory thing earlier. But it doesnt affect it too noticeably unless your using room and horn vibration to sneak a very quick breath

  • Actually most european players use vibrato. maybe not as much as he does but they do. American Players use it very sparingly or not at all.

  • Christian Lindberg is amazing... Did anyone else how he plays in tune so well?

  • Vibrato! People complain all the time about his use of vibrato, but he does this specifically because he is a soloist with different groups all of the time. If you use enough vibrato, you'll be "in tune" all the time.

  • and I'm a huge fan of him, not bashing him at all, just answering that dude's question

  • In all reality a Trombone player can never be out of tune due to the fact that the trombone is a really large tuning slide.

  • Except when playing notes where the slide is all the way in, if your low Bb is flat, you can't pull in at all :P

  • then you would play the note in a natural position.or you can tune with your mouth and not have to move the slide at all, Its really all about air

  • well actually the trombone can be out of tune forever since we always have to adjust and valve instruments don't have to adjust all their notes just some and if they do its very little adjusment

  • I have no comments!

    Lindberg is a Lindberg!

  • love bell touch at 1:05 . People had this huge arguement a while back about how pros shouldn't touch the bell and how they don't touch the bell. Dude even tried to say that Lindberg himself got mad at people for touching the bell at a master class and told him not to do it. I showed him this and he shut the hell up haha!

  • Well it's a bad thing for high school players and such because they learn to tune their note by their finger, instead of the muscle memory in their arms, so in that sense it is bad. Lindberg obviously has no problem tuning, so he could put his whole hand on the bell and I wouldn't care. And sometimes, our fingers like to do their own thing, I find I rarely do let my finger touch the bell, but when it hppens it happens, no biggie!

  • is a machineee

  • or how long till its out of copyright

  • over a decade.

  • but its romeo and Juliet by who

  • Romeo and Juliet by Prokofief.

  • It's not by The Who, I think. ;)

  • Soooo in tune!!

  • This is an old recording of him playing on a Conn 88H. Now he plays on an 88H-SGX. Silver with gold trim. Open wrap.

  • what kind of trombone does he play on?

  • he is such an amazing player but a little too much vibrato for my taste but that's just me.

  • I took a class with both Lindberg and Joe Alessi. They are both phenominal trombone players! I would recomend to people on here to go check out Joespeh Alessi as well!

  • I took a master class with him about 5 years ago and he is amazing...everything is so effortless for him.

  • Comment removed

  • He used to play on a Conn 88H (regular closed-wrap valve). In past years, he has played on a Conn 88H-CL (to be more specific, he played on a Conn 88H-CLSGX [gold-plated sterling silver bell] and a conn 88H-CL that was nickel-plated, I believe).

The 88H and the 88H-CL can both be bought for under $3000 (about $2000 for the regular one and about $2800 for the CL one), but the gold-plated sterling silver one was about $4000, I believe (basically, it's just under the Edwards/Shires price).

  • Oh wow, I have a Conn heh, Artists Symphony though, has the copper bell etc its great heh :P Good choice Mr Lindberg, and thanks for the info peytonio

  • Hi, could anyone tell me what type of Trombone Christian uses here? I will go do some research now using the ultimate tools of knowledge - Wiki and Google, but I like the tone here :D

Im guessing its some signature series

  • lol 6:16 that lady's really into it

  • Maybe she's asleep :P

  • This is a great DVD. I would highly recommend any aspiring Trombonist or Trumpeter to buy it. :)

  • what is the dvd called

  • This guy is so amazing...

  • Does anybody know who the pianist is?

  • his name is Love Derwinger

  • Where I could get this score??

  • I'm sure at local music store, you just need to call them and tell them what you want a few weeks in advance so that they can order it.

  • Ok, I will try it. Thx!

  • you can't. I tired. The company is german and they don't print it anymore. Tarrodi (lindbergs music company) doesn't have the rights to it because it isn't out of copyright yet.

  • mt loko!!

  • lol i love the vibratos

  • how does he sound so open at such high notes?

  • practice makes perfect :)

He must have been playing for god knows how many years. Im sure he's had his share of time to practice getting those high notes up to perfection.

  • Loads of air. Practice for sure... but it takes a lot of control of the embouchure, and a great deal of air to maintain a pitch... especially such a high one.

  • /watch?v=fFH0khjgA0U

  • Kurcze że też ja tak nie potrafię. Przegość!

  • absolutely beatiful during romeo and juliet.wonderful high range.just hate magic flute. song not player

  • un grandissimo dell'interpretazione del trombone superlativo

  • They are just great i love romeo and Juliet i don't what more can i say they are great ;)

  • What a great high range he has. I am not crazy about the vibrato but that's just my opinion. Very awesome sounds for sure.

  • is there any music for this???

  • oh my his tone damn nice please

  • fuckin gorgeous AHHHHH

The Romeo And Juliet one by prokofiev fuckin

    Gorgeous :D

  • mawagashy, learn how to speak English, then you can comment.

  • I noticed that he plays his second position fairly flat sometimes. I wonder if that's because it was so hot where he was playing.

  • heat isnt the only thing that influences the tuning....all trombones are different and even more different are the embouchures of each individual...also you gotta see if his tuning slide was the cause of that adjustment

  • That's a good point. I know when I play I have to make many adjustments for notes in the same position- like A below middle C is brought in a bit more than the C# above it and E below it.

  • got the same trombone as him. It plays sharp in normal 2nd position. Epecisly when it's hot. :)

  • His trombone is custom made so i dont think you have the actual one he has.

  • I love that you could complain about a trombone being sharp in a given position.... you're playing a tuning slide! ;-p I know what you mean, though.

  • Didn't CL only start playing at the age of 19? Even those who don't like him have to give him credit for that.

  • Close, 16, but he played baritone horn before that... but still all credit to him.

  • dude, your wrong. he started playing trombone when he was 17 n before that he played trumpet not a bari. THANK YOU!

  • Dude, you're half-right. He started playing trombone at 17 and before that he played baritone horn not a trumpet. (Wikipedia) THANK YOU!

  • LOL. "your wrong" "your half right"

  • Dude, what are you doing reading comments from so long ago? Duuuude...

  • Is there anyone who has the sheet music for romeo and julliette? I'm looking for it for years now, can't find the trombone-solo version...

    Grtz

    Ruben

  • Superb!

  • Dang, This is pretty dang cool. I enjoyed it.
