can you move your modx site around by moving the root modx folder?

You would need to follow these steps to move your site to other server:

1. Back up the db

2. Back up all your modx files

3. Import your db on the new server

4. Move your site files to new server

Not too difficult if you take the proper steps to ensure you've backed *EVERYTHING* up

I would think as long as then db is connected correctly. Just be safe and back up your files :)
