It doesn't work for me. MobileTerminal command line starts with "localhost", NOT "iphone". Anybody, please help? Another video says I need to "reinstall the firmware" (at 3:18). But how? Custom-reinstall with the custom firmware? Isn't it going to be the same? Please help! Thanks!

2 things that may cause people problems on Windows.

1) If you are currently connected to a wi-fi router, you may have to manually disconnect from that network and manually connect to the new ad-hoc network.

2) Since your iphone is now connected to your laptop wi-fi network, after you start "socks" or "proxy" running, you may need to return to your iphone home page and click on Safari to switch the iphone network connection to 3G. Once that is done, your laptop browser should work then.

Finally got it to work!!

I just have to wait a bit after i make the network on my windows xp, and go back an forth to the new network (that is seen on my iphone 3g, which I made on my windows XP), and between selecting that network and going back to general setting until the iphone 3g is connected to that network made by the xp and I can seethe ip address too... then after I do everything he said, I just have to wait a bit, surf oniphone first, and then surf on my windows xp (it take a bit)

your network card isn't giving out a wireless signal then... try uninstalling the drivers/program and reinstalling...
