People who are strictly set in their beliefs won't accept outside criticism - no matter how sensical it may sound - if it clashes with their faith. That's just that nature of belief systems, not just Christianity. It's the nature of all religions really; past and present. Religion is full of paradoxes and contradictions, which is why no matter what religion one may choose (whether orthordox or not), or claim faith under it can be disputed.

@SunY33on That whole situation with credence and beliefs clashing can be seen all throughout history. A prime example would be the Christian overtaking of the Scandinavian lands where the Church of Rome openly asked them to denounce their gods, claiming them as false, and follow a new god. Needless to say, obviously the Scandinavians weren't very compliant, nor happy to see their religion persecuted. It's a very similar situation between Creationism & Darwinism and the problems that arise there.

They respected Jesus Christ for the fact he was able to die for His believes. And they always thought about similarities between Oðinn who was hanging on the Yggdrasill for Wisdom and Jesus Christ hanging on the cross for Resurection. But it doesn't change the fact that Norse Gods are much more powerful in my opinion than christian ideas.
