This church is one of the reasons I want to become a priest... so I can fix these God-forsaken liturgical abuses! If I am worthy of being ordained, and am assigned to a church like this, first thing I'm doing... good-bye, center altar! I just can't stand the idea of celebrating a Mass facing the people instead of God! Second thing... incense, gothic vestments, and surpliced altar boys are in! These bathrobe/vestments are too tacky for liturgical use!
The ultimate thing about this is that the Holy Mass is being transported in between heaven and earth quite literally, going back and watching the one sacrifice of Christ made present again upon the altar of God. Therefore, one should feel as if they are between heaven and earth, humbled and awed before the might of God. that is not superstition, that is reverence... and I attend the Novus Ordo Missae, because my parish priest does it without liturgical abuse!
Saced Tradition was established by God, and developed over centuries by man with God's guidance. You really think Christ just handed the full versions of all our most sacred rituals on a plate? No! It took twenty centuries of God's guidance to develop them from the simplest actions into what they are now, and this Rock Mass is going backwards! But they were the same actions, just down to the basics; basic is effective, but the more elaborate, the more pleasing it is to God.

First of all, as a member of this church I want to make something very clear, we are Roman Catholics. While everyone is entitled to an opinion, my question for all those who dislike this video is, why keep looking at it? When did it become so wrong to make unto the Lord a joyful noise for all that he has done? I just hope that we all realize that there are many different ways to praise God. We use various methods/instruments and as long as he is happy with our praise, then nothing else matters.
In Our Church we have certian liturgical actions that cannot be exempt except when prescribed. Like in Cannon Law or Various Papal Bulls or dispensations etc.
Also one of the 4 corners of the Mass is Adoration (Praise as it may be called).
That said, the far most important corner of the Catholic Mass is...(Traditionalists/Conservative Catholics don't awnser for him or her please).
With all due respect Adoration and Praise are two different theological concepts that can not be as interchange simply because you want them to. Similar in some ways but not the same. With that being said, the style of the music should not be the major cause of scandal in my opinion.

What a beautiful Church! I would love to visit and worship here. We can take away the center altar, FINALLY make use the of the high altar again, and have a Solemn High Mass. Im sure (or would hope) the people on this video would appreciate sacred liturgy if only they were exposed to it.
I am sorry but where is the reverence in this music and for the priests to be dancing and moveing with the music show there more concerned with that then the sacrifice of the mass. We sing the songs we sing at mass because they show reverance to God. This looks to me like a whole church that wishes to be prtestant. If they all want to go and clap and dance in the isle then please by all means go and join some chusr that does just don't bring the Catholic church into it.
I attended your church a few times and that was enough for me. I haven't been back since. I couldn't find anything Catholic there. I've seen this kind of crap in a few Protestant churches and I walked out of those too. If you want to practice the Protestant ways, why don't you just jump the fence and be done with it, but don't drag the Catholic name along with it.

Every Catholic church I have been to had alter girls. Also, the people walking on the alter were the people who handed out communion. The clapping is around in more and more communities. In my area, it is typically at Hispanic or Charismatic catholic masses. I'm ok with it as long as it is not done during the Eucharist.
That we see girls appearing as altar "boys" is due to massive lack of interest in male attendents in church. That these people handed out H. Communion is even worse. Only the annointed hands of the Priest can touch the Host. Looks like this particular church really wins the biscuit when it comes down to profanity and blasphemy.

I checked a few of his videos out. I agree with him on several things but I haven't had a chance to see more videos yet. One point I agree with him on is kneeling for the concencration. At the charasmatic center I attend we knell for concnecration and until the eucarist is put back into the tabernacle. We do this on concrete if need be. I am a female and was an alter server for many years. What's wrong with it? I was very good at it, we did not however have this type of thing going on.
It's inappropriate as that function is typically the first step to becoming a priest. For that reason Lector and Deacon functions are also for men. So seeing a female perform these functions is very uncomfortable. However, since in Novus Ordo masses the altar boy (or girl) is essentially superfluous, it's not that big a deal. Just from the theological point it's not fully right.

Awesome, I like how modern protestant praise and worship is incorporated into the Catholic liturgy. It's not traditional, but it's still a nice twist.

The ultimate thing about this is that the Holy Mass is being transported in between heaven and earth quite literally, going back and watching the one sacrifice of Christ made present again upon the altar of God. Therefore, one should feel as if they are between heaven and earth, humbled and awed before the might of God. that is not superstition, that is reverence... and I attend the Novus Ordo Missae, because my parish priest does it without liturgical abuse!

It took twenty centuries of God's guidance to develop them from the simplest actions into what they are now, and this Rock Mass is going backwards! I can think of no better combination! First of all, as a member of this church I want to make something very clear, we are Roman Catholics. While everyone is entitled to an opinion, my question for all those who dislike this video is, why keep looking at it? When did it become so wrong to make unto the Lord a joyful noise for all that he has done? I just hope that we all realize that there are many different ways to praise God. We use various methods/instruments and as long as he is happy with our praise, then nothing else matters.

In Our Church we have certian liturgical actions that cannot be exempt except when prescribed. Like in Cannon Law or Various Papal Bulls or dispensations etc.
Also one of the 4 corners of the Mass is Adoration (Praise as it may be called).
That said, the far most important corner of the Catholic Mass is...(Traditionalists/Conservative Catholics don't awnser for him or her please).

My BIG problem is the Ordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (The Bishops, Priest, and Decons) in this case appears to be three Priest NOT distributing, instead dancing and walking around shaking hands while the Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion distribute, This would be a violation of Cannon 230.3

Use of the piano, guitar, and drums are forbidden...

What a beautiful Church! I would love to visit and worship here. We can take away the center altar, FINALLY make use the of the high altar again, and have a Solemn High Mass. Im sure (or would hope) the people on this video would appreciate sacred liturgy if only they were exposed to it.

I am sorry but where is the reverence in this music and for the priests to be dancing and moveing with the music show there more concerned with that then the sacrifice of the mass. We sing the songs we sing at mass because they show reverance to God. This looks to me like a whole church that wishes to be prtestant. If they all want to go and clap and dance in the isle then please by all means go and join some chusr that does just don't bring the Catholic church into it.

I attended your church a few times and that was enough for me. I haven't been back since. I couldn't find anything Catholic there. I've seen this kind of crap in a few Protestant churches and I walked out of those too. If you want to practice the Protestant ways, why don't you just jump the fence and be done with it, but don't drag the Catholic name along with it.
Perhaps having your church struck by lightening was supposed to be a message from God. After what I've seen, I'd think so!!

nothing man made is either infallible nor perfect. he's a man. show me where in the bible it says all of this and i will agree. show me where God has decreed this and i will follow. but man counts for little in the God and relationship and religion part. if i am correct catholic pope, in their infallibility, have done some of the most horrific things in human history like selling heaven, people etc. and within the last twenty years pardoned galileo. not to mention the sex scandal with kids. wwjd

Ugh. I hate this personally. I guess this helps some people get closer to God though, so it's not all that bad.
Unfortunately, I have no choice but to go to these masses. I pray to God that the tridentine mass will at least be more available some day. I might have to succumb and go to SSPX...

hannahr77; first of all who do you think you are to call me a HYPOCRITE, watch your tongue, secondly what have I condemned that God has blessed, I said to report these three dancing priests in the sactuary which is holy of holies and not a dance floor. it's enough we put up with noisy music during holy mass, but dancing priests is just a disgrace, learn the theology of the Church and Holy Councils, nowere does it state that dancing is allowed!. David danced, rejoiced and played the harp as his own PERSONAL way of praying and praising God, thus you are left to pray as you want AT HOME the CHurch doesnt restrict the way you pray, but with the formation of Liturgy which was concluded by holy Popes and doctors of the Church the liturgical celebration calls for seriousness and sanctity, I don't expect you to understand , study Theology and and how it formed.

why is there a difference between praising the way god wants you to and the way church doctors want you to? if acts 2:1 has the church as a community of believers who love with all that they have then why cant the church accept it now? if the universal church can not allow relationship and joy to be shown then what is the point in worshiping a god if you cant love him with all you have?

What separates the current precepts of man from the ones that christ spoke about 2000 years ago?? nothing. what then separates the church hierarchy who oppose freedom and joy ( with respect) being shown , from the Pharisees and sadducees of back then? not much. stop taking God's laws and making them into human precepts.

Every Catholic church I have been to had alter girls. Also, the people walking on the alter were the people who handed out communion. The clapping is around in more and more communities. In my area, it is typically at Hispanic or Charismatic catholic masses. I'm ok with it as long as it is not done during the Eucharist.

That we see girls appearing as altar "boys" is due to massive lack of interest in male attendents in church. That these people handed out H. Communion is even worse. Only the annointed hands of the Priest can touch the Host. Looks like this particular church really wins the biscuit when it comes down to profanity and blasphemy.

I guess you meant "renewal". The renewal as organised by Vatican II is still very different than how it was put into practice. You just don't have a clue about what the liturgical renewal was all about, do you? Once again, Arinze's speeches are all on youtube. Watch them and weep.

I checked a few of his videos out. I agree with him on several things but I haven't had a chance to see more videos yet. One point I agree with him on is kneeling for the concencration. At the charasmatic center I attend we knell for concnecration and until the eucarist is put back into the tabernacle. We do this on concrete if need be. I will try to check out more of his videos soon. regards.

It's inappropriate as that function is typically the first step to becoming a priest. For that reason Lector and Deacon functions are also for men. So seeing a female perform these functions is very uncomfortable. However, since in Novus Ordo masses the altar boy (or girl) is essentially superfluous, it's not that big a deal. Just from the theological point it's not fully right.
