It's not a criticism. Those words are very sacred to people who chant Nam Myoho Renge Kyo and it's important that those words are pronounced and spelled correctly. You can Google the chant and you will never see it spelled this way.

NAM and MYOHO for example are two distinct words. NAMYOHORENGEKYO as you have here is WRONG. And Yoko is very much part of this discussion. Her name is included in the title of you video, am I not correct?

Nam Myoho Renge Kyo is the correct spelling. The title spelling is wrong....

NAM means Devotion. MYOHO means Mystic Law. RENGE mean Cause and Effect. KYO mean Sounds. MYOHO RENGE KYO - The Wonderful Law of the Lotus Sutra. Google the Lotus Sutra. It's beyond comprehension. The Buddha is talking about things 3000 years ago that science is now un-covering out in space.

If you really cared to be as accurate as possible within the constraints of romaji, you might want to indicate the long vowel sounds in MYOHO as MYOUHOU or MYOOHOO or at least MYŌHŌ......there several modern systems used in the romanization of Japanese, so there's no "correct" spelling.

My district has been one in which we support each other in our own life-journey and not necessarily dictate how one should believe but simply guide one in an Expedient Mean to bring about their highest life-state.

I am not a believer in SGI as it is a cult. I chant independently and practice my own as the SGI has ruined the teachings of Nichiren and has put Ikeda Daisaku on a pedestal as though he is GOD. SGI puts millions of dollars not only into Ikeda Daisaku's pocket, but propagates lies against other Nichiren Sects and distorts the teachings. Many SGI members will deny a lot of things because they are pledging a blind allegiance to a leader who uses his clout and prestige to gain more power and control of Japan. He caused the Priesthood problem to get worse over the teachings of Nichiren Daishonin (1222-1282) who lived in Feudal Japan and was eventually exiled to Sado island over his teachings against the Jodo Sect of Buddhism. He declared Japan would be defeated in a war invaded by Mongolia.

One of my favourite 60s groups is The Monkees. There is one episode of the TV series where the group use "Namyohorengekyo" as a chant. I think it was in the second series and one of the last episodes. I didn't realise it was a genuine chant. It's amazing. I assumed it was some sort of cryptic message of jumbled up letters, especially as it has "Nam" in it... which I thought it might be something to do with a protest against the war in "VietNAM". Now I realise I was wrong! Unusual song.

Chant This for personal happiness and world peace. This card was given to me from my mother's friends Buddhist teacher after she ( my mothers friend ) past away.
