@glyncharles its a 1.5L storm kettle base. I bought it from hawkinsbazare but they are better prices on ebay. personally id have gone for a smaller one if i was buying anouther its a bit big and i dont really need all that water. You can buy cooking sets with them but i made mine.
Thats the sort of thing needed so when the world system collapses the only thing you need to say is " how many want bacon sandwhiches" providing you have a supply of pigs of course! And that works both ways!
I do think it cooks better than hobo stoves etc because the fire is burning a lot better when you start cooking because of the storm kettle chimney. You can see it flare up when i take the pan off and I assume this is because all available oxygen is being used up. It doesnt seem to smoke much at all either. Its a light aluminium frying pan. I chose it because when the storm kettle is packed up it will sit fairly neatly inside the pan so the whole lot doesnt take up much more room than normal.
i made it myself out of a strip of perforated steel. im wondering whether a solid stip with a few large holes in one side would work better and stop the wind blowing the flame off the pan so much
Im not keen on cooking black pudding as it can fall apart in the pan. But maybe it is a good test of the system. Its hard to tell if its cooked properly too
What, no pancakes?

i would slice them up to thin them and make it faster to cook, then serve them over a bed of french fries.

we have one and hwen we camp we just take the base off and boil water in the kettle by just sitting it in the fire (its quicker that way)

those look good, to cook something like that on a campfire grill, do you use a cast iron skillet? (begginer of campfire cooking)

Cool attachment - I wish I could just buy one as I'm no good at making my own stuff.
Good viewing btw - thanks.

Did they taste good ? What make of sausages were they ?
Are they Halal ?
Lament1971 4 years ago
they were very nice Tesco`s own. I`m not sure you can get Halal pork sausages though
JonSpink 4 years ago
Do you do requests? Could you do me a video of you cooking a nice bit of black pudding?
Lament1971 4 years ago
It works better than normal because the storm kettle chimney gets the wood burning really well before I put the pan on
JonSpink 4 years ago
Woah, unbelieable, i dont belive the suasages, your editing that, you con artist, no cooker, cooks thats well!
