I dont know much about recording but here goes. Me and my freinds are starting a band (soon to be singer, guitarist x2, bass and drums) and i was woundering what is the chepest way of recording all off these and then mixing it on cubase 5.1 so that each instrument is on a seperate channel, at the moment were recording all of us on 1 mic and it sounds awfull so your help would be muchly thanked :)
I like this video a lot, and have one question, I have Behringer 2442fx With 10 mic preamps and this is what I need, 10 mic pre amps, but offcourse the mixer record only stereo, but I wont 10 separate tracks when record, Can I get this whit this M-audio card that you use? I have 8 direct outputs on my board, but I need 10, so can I hook up the mixer with delta card with those 8 direct outputs and use those 2 mic pre amps on Delta card so that I have 10 tracks at same time?
Your guitar cable is going to be mono. Look at the tip of your 1/4 cable. If it has one ring near the tip, then it is mono. If it has two rings near the tip, it is stereo. Radio shack sells a 1/4" female to rca male adapter for just a few bucks. Record it mono and duplicate the track.
@bigrog74 hey what do you mean recording it mono and duplicating the track?? When you mean duplicate do you mean like Blend the two or merge them somehow once they are complete??? Im new to recording, thanks.
Hello I have one m - aduio 1010lt .. but not to install it to him(you, them) porfaor help me if .. you know one speaks about the jump 1 and 2 but not if to move them or dejarlso there espeor q you could help me to intarla the hadwart and the softwar .. I want to use them with my Berinherg B - 2 .. good I am of peru and do not dominate the Englishman am writing to you with an electronic translator wait could understand and answer thank you me
Hey i just got an maudio1010lt for recordin purposes... but I have a slight problem b/c I want to record with guitar, but I dont have any RCA cables and thats all the M-audio takes... they have dual 1/4 to RCA cables but if I only have one line out how am i supposed to use this?? would a single 1/4 to dual rca stereo work if I wanted to record from my guitar amp? Plz let me know if you can help me thanks a lot :)
Rly? well if its stereo then howcome I only get signal from one of the RCA jacks? The 1/4 inch Im using is stereo and only one channel works when plugged into "line out" on my amplifier...... that would lead me to believe the 1/4 for a guitar is a mono signal......
I dont know anything about guitars. But i do know that your cables are stereo. Cuz there is a red & white. So that would only leave your guitar or any other sources you are using. : /
I think your problem is you dont have phantom power. Condenser mics require phantom power to work. I run my mic through a mixer that has phantom power and then to my soundcard
Hi Soundman. Cool video bro. Hey I'm thinking about getting into Cubebase LE. Can Cubebase LE record at 48khz? Also, I know you're using an M-audio, but have you heard anything about the Tascam US1641 interface/soundcard?
Thanks a lot for watching my video! The Tascam US1641 looks like a very good interface. Just make sure you have a good soundcard to because if you have a bad sound card it wont matter how good the interface is the sound still wont be that good. I think it can record at 48khz but im not to sure. Dont forget to subscribe or rate. Thanks!
First you probably want to check your control panel for your sound card. Make sure all the correct inputs are selected. Also if you have a condenser mike your going to need 48v phantom power. hope this helped
too sluggish

quarter inch jacks are stereo.... so a 1/4 inch jack with "two" RCA jacks on the opposite side, would be stereo (left & right) channels...
