i think most people figured it out when he put the balls in the tube without saying what the numbers were. a prediction means telling people what you think will happen before it happens.

you couldn't even argue that it was done for drama, as showing the numbers and seeing them come up one by one as the draw unfolded would've been far more dramatic.

i like derren brown and enjoyed the show, but i wonder if the camera trickery will do harm as people may now question the genuine things.

I saw when he "revealed" the trick. And he said there was only 3 ways that this was possible, either he predicted them, the machine was rigged or some third. That "Event's" explains earlier was petty and ironic!! Simple - The left side of the camera is a pre-recorded footage of static balls bein played in sync as a overlay with the right side [Split screen]? It was also a resync of footage so the left side is live again! Why did the cam freeze at one point? also 39 ball is higher! It was a split screen! - O well, stupid but gets people interested in magic and buying lottery tickets so good promo I guess!

He had at least 20 seconds while he waffled on before he revealed the "correct" numbers for the swap to happen. No ones attention was on those balls we were all looking at the live show on his screen. The friday show rambled on to its conclusion but even that group of people didnt know what numbers they had selected because Brown took away their scribbles for him to interpretate and calculate himself later. Good trick for the gullible but he aint fooling me.

Definately. He says that the BBC have the right to annouce the 'winning' numbers first, but until the draw was made his balls would have only had a prediction on them (although they were obviously blank). The BBC doesn't stop anyone showing predicted numbers. LIES, It's all LIES I TELL YOU!

It would be a way to do it, and I can see why you'd think it - but your 'proof' is not proof at all. I have it recorded on my Sky box in real HD (not the rubbish that Youtube provides) and trust me, there is no switch, there is no stutter, there is no pause, there is nothing.

Derren has always said he's not psychic. This is obviously a trick - but he does not deal in camera tricks. Never has.

software split screen doesn't have stutter, but if you watch the few seconds after the balls are announced and he goes "oh ahhhh" you can see the camera stop shaking and the ball go up as described in this video.

However it's been said that it's something you can do at home so it may be that cameras are not involved. Perhaps it's like that video with the kids throwing the ball around and the gorilla walking through - you're so focussed on one thing that you completely miss another.

You do have to wonder why he was incapable of making the balls neater on the rack? considering he had them sitting there before the draw (supposedly?) - they do look like they've been put on in a rush...

3rd camera man is fixed definately... the left side is a sync'd vid (the balls move (one rises)).

Also If you look before they look at footage from camera man 2, the perspective changes before and after (goes from 1st cameraman, to 2nd cameraman - to fixed camera with software shake!!)

Damn, good spot! Never noticed that. I believe that the only purpose of the 2nd cameraman at the back is solely to provide a transition between the 1st camera and the 3rd camera - We never see the 2nd camera again. The 3rd camera is a bit higher than the 1st camera.

Also the 1st camera at the start (Brown's intro backstage) the cameraman is stationary and is ALOT shakier than the camera when stationary after the transition from the 2nd camera (When Brown shouts Hello!) - more proof of a 3rd camera.
