I would like to thank my mother for her wonderful and unique tastes in music. It was those very tastes that brought such passion and soul into my life. Janis has been a part of my everyday for more than 20 years and she will be untill the day I take my last breath.Thank you mom and thank you Janis. Such talent.......
The Greatest Female singer ever. Who needs 20 dancers and all the other bulls*& production. Janis is legendary and never better. Just Janis a cookin band. Hell Yeh, This is classic!
Thrilling. I've always thought that the saddest thing about her early death was that she was just starting to get control of her incredible voice. God bless Janis.
By far her best band. Great piano and organ players. John Till, a great guitarist. This was HER band, all picked by her and totally in tune with each other and her. They really cooked. Janis was really coming into her own as an artist and song writer. She could easily be singing and performing today had she not succumbed to heroin. The fact that she died alone when making her best recording to date was, and is, heartbreaking.
Absolutely amazing !!! Janis....you were and still are the greatest female rock singer our planet has ever had !! I hope wherever you are, you're still singing ! " If you believe in forever, then life is just a one night stand....if there's a rock n roll heaven, well you know they've got a hell of a band !" and an awesome lady lead singer !!
this woman was and is awesome and always will be-- what a voice and what a spirit-- i wasn't alive in her time but first time I heard her sing I was hooked. music doesn't have the soul and passion like this anymore... Janis Joplin : one of the greats
My favorite song from the Pearl album with the Full Tilt Boogie band. Great stuff, though her live Ball and Chain will always be the song that knocks me out the most.

THANK YOU JANIS JOPLIN for breaking the boundaries that allowed me to be the WOMAN I am today!! I know you're up there with James now belting out tunes... I'll be there to see you in due time :)
Man, she is such a lil firecracker! I love how into it and free she is when she is playing her music, you know the stage meant a lot to her. That was so amazing. I loved it, the guitar was really awesome too. Mna, but Janis really owns it. I love the way she dresses and the way she moves and how she knows the music so well. I really love her.
@Catastrophiccam I saw her at the Fillmore in 68...she was dynamic and so friendly and sweet, aside from her tremendous soul and talent. But she burned like a moth to a flame. You can't imagine what a shock it was right after Hendrix!!!
Yeah, I know. My mom saw her just a few months before she passed but she was really drunk and high but still put on an amazing show. I know, I can feel her emotion. I know, it was so horrible, both of them.
@Catastrophiccam When I saw her in 67 -68 at The Fillmore in New York City she was drinking from a bottle of Southern Comfort on stage..and was pretty drunk.
She was one of the worlds greatest gifts! She was with no doubt the best female singers of all time!Another great singer from Port Arthur Texas was Johnny Preston. Both of these singers touched the world"s heart.Janice you"ll always be remembered!Port Arthur Texas.
