  • Happy Birthday Bruce!!!

  • This song was written by Bruce Springsteen. Orginal recording is acoustic. The album is called Nebraska.

  • @vwhummer sounds like a Springsteen song..thanks

  • @rickosports It is a Bruce song

  • @CSCtravelcommittee

    Springsteen..yes, I know..definitely sound like the Boss

  • It's from "Tales of the New West", the BFs first "album", circa 1984 or 1985. The whole album kicks ass.

  • why is that album so damn expensive? I want to get it but i havnt seen it under $75 On ebay.

  • because it's what you call a friggin real-deal collector's item.

  • @ironman3964 I had a copy as recently as 1996 and lost it. : (

  • quintessential Deserted Island Band.......

  • Wow this brings back memories, pretty blurry ones at that. Saw them at the Star Bar in ATL when Dick was still with us.

  • Never saw thme live; i used to hang with Dash Rip Rock when they were in Atlanta; they were buds.

  • i am so glad that i have experienced the BFers live, they are one of the finer things in life, and i will go to my grave a "happy boy" Thank you Beatfarmers for completing my life.

  • dude..not to offend but it sounds like theres not much to complete..

  • Well, I may not have as much to "complete" as you, but I do appreciate alot of the simpler things in life, whether it be the Beatfarmers or the best Blowjob, OK, no offense taken.

  • PS Have you ever seen the Beatfarmers live??

  • We used to go to every Beat Farmers show when ever they came to Colorado starting back in 89.

  • stand there long enough dog will run i promise

  • I agree. I'm a Springsteen fan(atic), but this is one of those rare occasions that someone else got to the essence of the song before Bruce. Although, the Man's version of this song on the Magic tour....

  • This is great; the studio version absolutely kicks; it may be the best version ever. Period.

And, yes, i *do* mean better than Brooce's.

  • I just paid $35 for Tales of the New West on CD - it is such a great song.

  • I caught them in concert twice, and it was a highlight of my life. I was really surprised by Country Dick's drumming. He was really good. I think he was known more for coming out into the audience, singing a funny song, and splashing everyone with beer. What a great band!

  • Makes me proud to be a San Diegian..

  • @NomoDoEye here here! i 2nd that! us homies needed something like the B'F's to wipe away the sour taste of the biggest song ever by an SD band, Dont Worry/Be Happy.... ughhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • the best group ever!!

    thanks a million, petho!!

  • Brilliant they were !! Thanks Petho :-)
