  • My late grandfather was a 14 year old boy in London on VE day. He once told me during the course of an evenings conversation that he was sure he remembered hearing this playing somewhere as the crowds celebrated in the streets. He said it remained one of his happiest memories for the rest of his life :)

  • @keithmcneill55 Nice Post :)

  • @TrapperMilan Thanks :)

  • My dad wants this played at his funeral since his dad used to call him nimrod as a nickname :) also because its a beautiful piece.

    So...Post. It! :)

  • this is music

  • @MrBirdy2010 For sure!!!

  • NIMROD, (the hunter?) is one of my very favoites, but puts me in a glorously sentimental mood....I love the version with Winston Churchill talking (expounding) to the English people and the entire world how the British will fight and fight for their tiny island.....ooooohhhhh I believe that Mr. Churchill stirred the hearts of all who heard him and personally believe that he and his great voice mustered those British forces to never, NEVER< Never never quit! GOD B LESS courageous leaders!!!!

  • Outstandingly beautiful, Thank you so much for sharing this

  • @TerryJG75 My pleasure =)

    TheMinuchim.

  • @TheMinuchim ♥

  • Noone understands Elgar better than Boult, the best interpretation by far

  • @wencarreg Agreed!

  • @wencarreg Boult - " the best interpretation by far".... I could not AGREE with you more, but NOT with this orchestra!!! Have u heard the 1963? recording by Boult with the London Philharmonic?? It is the best recording EVER of Nimrod- and I have studied literally dozens of them. I know it might amount to personal taste- but there is no one that brings Nimrod to the climax that Boult achieves with the LPO. It raises the hairs on the back of your neck!! It is a true musical Orgasm

  • Bellisimo,bellisimo,bellisimo! Mil gracias,no hay palabras..............

  • @TheMinuchim My pleasure.

  • Wonderful : )

  • @eyelightedcolours Yes, so wonderful and beautiful.

  • Thank you for this exquisite ulpload, I too feel that Boult and LSO have never been surpassed! Having said that, there are many other very fine interpretations and performances! Be Well, JSE.

  • @ScotsjohnSE A lovely piece! It is my pleasure to upload this wonderful music.
