  • Outta 10 stars, this whole album iz a 15...........

  • ..."I got a blunt for my chronic, good juice for my tonic"...

  • i want this album so bad

  • Only Nas can create a rap song this beautiful.

  • Grown ass nigga music, referencing his daughter's influence, demonstrating maturity in the rap game and doing it so cleverly behind a smooth jazzy beat.

  • this album is so underated!

  • Storytelling, flow, lyricism, creativity, imagery, literary devices, and breadth of topics. No other rapper has the mastery over all these elements the way Nas does.

  • Streets Disciple double disk in my opinion is in the same class as illmatic stillmatic lost tapes .. the vibe that the whole album is mad soulfull.

  • best song off a dope album...fully convinced if he would have made this a single album instead of a double (as i read in several articles like 6 months b4 the album even dropped)this wud have been his best album...just a few too many filler tracks...should have beeen like 15 songs every one wuda been a banger

  • @sbaker12 right...this album had so much replay value....but he definitely had 15 near flawless tracks on here...IMO, the first disc had the most

  • @DJisthebest1 It wont let me post the link but go to Google and type in J. Sands Nifty Q and its on the first page. It the Undergroundhiphop website. For me it was the first link. The song is in the middle of the page.

  • @Gerren25 iight thanks alot man

  • @Gerren25 It's basically a song off of a mixtape where he raps over "interludes", not really his work originally.

  • that beat at the end is super sick, damn that should be a song!!

  • everyone always talks about ILLmatic and stillmatic and gods son when talking about nas' best work, well this should be... one of his best and most overlooked albums..

  • this is my fav joint on the album...i used to get soo high and listened to this and it used to put me in a mood that only 2pac or Sade puts me in...

  • @hittzthagreat Word up...This song is beautiful to listen to when you blunted off the good...Especially when the keys and the beat breaks down, and the horns get loud...Atmospheric music showcased fasure.

  • @Wordisgood

  • I wish they made a street disciples instrumental... Love this beat. I remember playing this track over and over when this first came out years back. Imma have to throw this in one of my sets during one of those slow nights at the bar.

  • i thought this track was gonna be some hard ass beat when i bought the album. Prob the chillest beat of them all. So dope. blunt for my chronic, juice for my tonic. now thats comfort.

  • i've got a blunt for my chronic, a juice for my tonic,

i know now... that i'm feelin right if it goes down..

cause myyyy 3rd eye sees the low down..

and i know it's not my time to go now..cause god's got my back in this showdown..

so i know, we'll be alriiiiight..

  • @chirimumimba121 yea man i could listen to that beat for a long time, ive been trying to find where that last part is from but i cant, have you?

  • Any rapper dat says he went 2 hell 4 snuffin Jesus iz 1 bad muthafucka!

  • He's saying he took the place as the rap God's Son.... Saying he was the second coming of the God Rakim... No disrespecting Jesus or God im sure Nasty knows and has a strong faith.. Not necessarily strong religious values bt a strong faith.. like me

  • @Eweezie415 I kno dat lil 1 i wuz jus sayin Mr. Nasir Jones iz a bad mufucka by sayin dat line in Live at the Barberque(Main Source) ya kno "bad" az in meanin good! Like RunDMC said, "not bad meanin bad but bad meanin good huh!" lol.

  • got this song on my psp. This is the good joint. You are right. this song makes you think of you and your father cruising manhattan. Passing all those yellow cabbiis, buses, and crazy wacko drivers. lol.

  • increadeble

  • "Caught a glimpse of myself in the Barney's shop window

Kinda' see my father's features creepin' in a little"

Dang, true line. I'm starting to resemble my dad more and more each day. I love how Nas can make you think about your life with one line, it's so subtle. This is why Nas is one of the greatest.

  • Why juice for my tonic?

  • im looking eveywhere for the instrumental version of this song.. cant find it :(

  • this is my favorite nas track. i love this song. this song will be the story of my life.

  • the hook for this shit is dirty....son goes hard

  • cosign that shit, people think he can't do that metaphor/punchline all day type verses, like u said go check Nas Will Prevail, it's just that sun is always moving forward/never backward stupid/here's another classic.

  • @shonha1 yo sun real talk Nas is on another league, he has so many verses that just make me rewind that shit and awe what he really said. niggas don't have to see what i'm talking bout but damn this dude can't be touched lyrically!!!

  • Illmatic

    The lost tapes

    Street disciples?

  • Just when i thought i heard the best of Nas, my brother shows me this. sick shit..for some reason it reminds me of Pacs 'do for love'

  • when i got this album i played this song out!!!!

  • me too!!!

  • the beat at the end iz crazy.. i wonder why nobody never used it

  • I was wondering the same thing too. It reminds me of that pure and raw early 90's hip hop. Sadly it's the best part of the song IMO

  • christian hip hop, cmon man thats not even the same thing as this shit.

  • one of my favorite esco tracks by far

  • i mostly listen to christian hip hop, but i have a soft spot for some nas, mainly illmatic. but this jam was one of my faves off this album.

  • ... Christian hip-hop?

  • christian hiphop? get outta here...

  • i know right? thats what i thought too, but there are some christian mcs who would smack nas in a battle, i thought it would be wack too, but its dope. look for shai linne or stephen the levite, i aint frontin son, plus im trying to get to heaven, ya heard!

  • Sorry b but i would never listen to christian hiphop.

    1. i'm not a christian

    2. i need to have somekind of swearing or unnessercery langue in the shit i'm listening too.

    But nice try.

  • you need to have some kind of swearing, haha! You will hopefully grow out of that stage when your out of your teens. holla!

  • christian rappers or not; you would be better hard pressed to find anyone would would best nas in a battle, even at his age now let alone in his prime

  • the outro kills it ive chopped it and looped it that how much i love it

  • keep tryna be smart dont listen to dumb fawks tryna bring u down

  • word son i feel you!!!

  • this song = :)

  • his word play on this joint is very dope...sounds the way he wrote on Illmatic and It was written

  • great song.

    drums sampled from:

Jackie Jackson Is It Him or Me

  • i loveeeeeee the hook and the beat..classic

nas used 2 be the best...he sold it

  • thats not true

  • Nas & Black Thought in the 90's are the best

  • love this shit

  • best track on the second disc!

  • nas is the best period

  • this beat is unique i love these kinds of nasir songs

  • Comment removed

  • NAs is not crap wat are you talkin bout

  • i love nas i just said live he is

  • o ok my bad man

  • no probs

  • amazing track. the hook is too catchy

  • Fuck Lil Wayne bein the best rapper alive. I hear dat in public a lot and I think the industry really love to brain wash peeps. No disrespect to Lil Wayne I mean he incredible in my view. I think he critiqued in the mainstream element of what the industry makes rap out to be today. Der are many Raw hardcore rappers that don't get the credit dey rightfully deserve cause the mainstream. If yal want a great rap album go cop Raekwon's Only Built 4 Cuban Linx pt. II. Yal wont be unsatisfied.

  • True I look at it like this. Fuck who's better. Honestly I think Wu is the best in my opinion(Fact). To me it's each artists unique style that I look at. I think Nas is my favorite lyricist along with Wu. Nas deserves the positive feed back. I remember when him and Jay Z beefed peeps was like yo Jay Z better. I looked at them like are you serious? No disrespect cause Jay Z is nice but Nas can put down paper more than what Jay can cluster in his head. And I like Lil Wayne....

  • Wu's a group...Nas is an individual...Nas is greater then any MC on WU [individually]....He's been in the game since 91 and is still relevant 18 years later....Only rappers to go that long and remain relevant are LL Cool J,Busta Rhymes, and Tupac.

    You can't compare a single,individual guy against awhole crew....It doesn't add up.

  • What about Snoop? And Jay has been in it a long time too (Although not as long as Nas)? Or Ice Cube? The list could go on. There are a lot of other rappers that have been in the game since the early 90's, even more in the underground scene. I do agree with you that putting Nas against Wu Tang Collectively is not fair. Individually, Nas outshines each one of them. In my opinion, Nas is the best individual lyricist from New York making Hip-Hop music.

  • Ice Cube is not relevant these days, and Snoop had to make commercialized mainstream songs to stay relevant....Nas has kept the same formula his entire career, and "YOU OWE ME" was the only song that pushed that boundary....But Nas has mostly sold skill, and good music that caters to the fans that he's always catered too...Snoop has had to switch his formula up and cater to different crowds. Peace.

  • JAZZ vs HIP HOP = doasidnsgfsdijfic BEAUTIFULLLAH!!!

  • There would be no Big L without Nas. He was mad influenced by Nas, you only need to do a little research to realize that... This aint no shot to L, dude was nice, but saying he was better than Nas is like saying Nas is better than Rakim. Who's better, the teacher or his student. Debatable.

  • Well....Newton influenced Einstein...But who's more considered to have one of the greatest minds in history???? EINSTEIN IS!!!!

Newton might've influenced and been a teacher-type presence to Einstein, but Einstein is far more acknowledged and regarded as more monumental in the physics world than Newton was <<< The same can be applied to the Rakim,Kool G. Rap, and Nas argument you just stated.

  • stop tryin to be smart nigga

  • Stop tryin to be smart???? So I guess I should sound dumb like you then??? Fuck outta here.

  • lol

  • Ahh!! I would say WAS!! Being that he passed. R.I.P. Though I can see why you said is because music lives on.

  • respect that

  • Please.....Big L didn't get the chance to flourish and grow like Nas.....Nas came before L, and has grown and bloomed into a greater MC after L.....No one touches Nas's catalogue....NO ONE.

  • and duh felaria wtf

  • this hook is hot!!!!!!!!!!

  • Everybody in the picture is Nas.

  • Until lil wayne comes out with a song like this lolololol............he just cant compete with "real" rappers like nas.

  • Sounds like J Dilla at the end

  • Actually it's better then Dilla....Because it's live instruments. :-D

  • j dilla almost always used live instruments elroy, this wasnt a dilla beat though, kinda sounds more like salaam remi to me but regardless nas is the illest mc ever, and rip j dilla!!!!

  • Not always...I can distinguish certain old school samples from lots of his songs.

  • nas will always rock daa beat!!!Pz

  • always loved this. i bought this album when it first dropped.

  • the man who pours, looks a lil bit like premo

  • yo I used to say the same thing to myself lol thats crazy!

  • its nas, everyone in the pic is nas

  • Comment removed

  • no shit. I know this song was from around 2003-2004. I never got tihs album, I guessed that he was talking about Kelis on this song cause they became a couple around that time.

  • Nas and Kelis broke up, from what I hear. I think the woman he refers to on this song as the new woman in his life and the woman he is watching her chemistry with his daughter is Kelis.

  • On the CD he's talking about Kelis...she's on a track asking him if he had a chance to mess with one of his exes...and he also had a song called GETTING MARRIED from the same disc this song is on

  • Yea and plus this song was made from 2004...Nas and Kelis just broke up in 2009

  • Nas was born with the talent. His surroundings and upbrininging shaped his talent and made it what it is.

  • Why is nas so good?

  • some are just born with talent

  • nas is good cus he makes hot shit like this

  • sick song!

  • this was one of my favorite albums from the top five mc Nasir Jones it was slept on badly

  • I feel the same way. People just don't buy into somebody trying to do something different.

  • 1st verse "Yeah, Brooks Brothers overcoat, know the ropes, smooth is holdin' those

Briefcases, silk ties, slick as them older folks" I used to work at Brooks Brothers, so NaS must have some fucking DOUGH!!!!

  • yo these lil fucking ringtone fucking comments are starting to piss me off !!! wtf ? fucking losers!!!

  • can anyone tell me if that site newtones4 u or other ones are legit ?

  • one of best hip hop tracks !!!!
