Goot lawd, if you plan on ever having a huge collection, NEVER organize by TYPE, like Blockbuster Video - that's one reason they're going outta biz. Instead, always organize by STAR, just like libraries organize by AUTHOR, and libraries aren't going outta biz. To imagine the unholy nightmare you're courting, just look a few years into the future, when your collection numbers into several thousand, and you've organized by type - there's 18 different locations for almost every actor under the sun!

Awesome collection. I have my DVD and Blu-Rays in alphabetically order and have the DVDs and Blu-Rays serperate from one another. At one time I did have them in genre order, but I confused myself on where I filed a movie and decided to go back to alphabetical.

I have a strange organization system. I mostly group by genre like you, but sometimes I'll group by director/creator, sometimes by actor, and sometimes by subject matter. I have a tiny little section for serial killer movies, for example, and that's where I'd stick American Psycho.
