All the vegans swarm to the only vegan restaurant in our area, so that's how I've met most of my vegan friends. Oh, and through Food not Bombs. I love that group. But I don't even think of them as my "vegan friends" but just some of my best friends.
Even without the savings in medicine, my food costs about one tenth of the cost of my pre-vegan self. So, I could be getting sick more, and still be saving money.
