why would you use cakes? Grain spawn is so much more efficient

We have another video doing the same TEK but using grain spawn for people more experienced with grain. This mix actually contains a mix of seeds which in my opinion always work better than grain. We use PF Tek jars (1/2 pints) in this method because its what a lot of people have easier access to. Traditional verm+rice flour+seed mix are way easier to sterilize than grain as well as moisture content is easier to judge. As you can see from the video it works really well every time.

Hi there. I'm a very happy owner of one of your 6lb grow bags. My bag appears to be pretty much fully colonized as of now. I know you can allow the mushrooms to fruit in the bag by itself, but I'm interested in using a cooler as a growth chamber. Can you tell me how to best transfer the growth medium to the chamber? Should I just mix everything in the bag by hand (using gloves of course)? Any information you can provide would be appreciated. Thanks.

The best way is to just leave it as a giant cake with humidity and air exchange in your growth chamber. 95% humidity. Don't break it up unless you are planning on casing it with one of our sterilized composts.
