  • wow what a beautiful bird

  • My dad used to fly these for TWA. Beautiful birds!

  • one of the most beautiful sounds of aircraft in history!

  • I wouldn't fly on that shit even for a million bucks

  • I just so know the sound of Connie that I run outside to see her fly over, husband thinks i'm bonkers when I bolt out doors for no apparent reason that he can see LOL

  • Beautiful aircraft, delivered to QANTAS in 1954, fully restored by Historical Aircraft Restoration Society using 16000 volunteer manhours.

    Great video. Thank you.

  • @klausb48 You're Welcome :)

  • @mrrentaspace my Dad was FltEng on that 1954 delivery. It tears me up everytime I see it fly.. Thanks for the 1080..

  • @klausb48 You're Welcome :)

  • @klausb48 one of the most beautiful sounds of aircraft in history

  • @klausb48 Actually it wasn't ever delivered to Qantas. It originally flew in South America.,

  • @7772go Correction. VH-EAG s/n L-1049C-55-81 was accepted by QANTAS on 28 March 1954 and flew continuously until March 1960 when it was leased to Malayan Airways. The aircraft above,S/N 54-0157 which was re-registered as VH-EAG, was originally a USAF aircraft attached to 1608th Military Air Transport Wing based at Charleston, South Carolina. It never went near South America (unless the CIA took it there).

  • @klausb48 Actually this one was never a qantas plane...it belonged to the US air force serial no 54-0157 and was found in Tuscon in 1990.... flown to oz in 1996 and restored.

  • @andgate2000 That was basically what I've been told - but it was restored in Arizona and then flown down to Australia.

  • great takeoff!

  • This plane is beautifully designed, and the sound, wow !!!

  • @GringoMuchachos I agree :)

  • I swear I heard someone go "shiiiit" lol

  • Why is there flames by the engines?

  • I live in Orkney, Scotland. One day around 1980 I saw one of these flying North Eastwards, very high up. Luckily I had binoculars on me at the time! That's the only time I've ever seen one. It must have been heading for Norway or Sweden. I still wonder who was using a Super Constellation at that time and was flying from the UK to Scandinavia. They could not have been very common by then.

  • How on earth can this video get dislikes. I don't uderstand some peoples expectations.

    Great Vid!!!!!!

  • @kwakaholic As stated, some people just have to higher expectation..... There was nothing more I could do to improve this video when I took it... it was the first weekend I had used the camera lol

  • Another Beautiful "Connie" lift up.

    Fly little princess.

  • My first flight--ever--was in a Connie, New York to London, refueled in Shannon, Ireland. June, 1963.

  • The best plane ever built

  • The Super Connie and the Comet 4, the two most beautiful commercial aircraft ever built. IMHO

  • What a beautiful airplane. The Air Force used these as AWACs in the 50's. I remember the RADAR dome.

  • My all time favorite airliner.

  • the most beautiful thing with wings i ever seen

  • >>>>OMG listen at 0:16!!!!!<<<

  • Nice video, great camera work.

  • Oh God, what a sound!

A good thing about Connies is that they would never have a tailstrike on take-off! :D

  • Watching this Vid was the best sex I have had this month.

I would gladly Lick Shine VH-EAG

  • Howard Hughes was awesome, tremendous vision. Kelly Johnson was a genius.

  • God bless Connie :D

    And keep her flying!

  • OMG, I have experience in that plane. From Lahore- Dhaka (Bangladesh) in 1960.

  • @aminul56 Really

  • @mrrentaspace Yes,I was then a pre-school toddler, I still remember. It was a bumpy journey. I screamed "mom, lets go back to home". I tested my life`s first soup there, it was in white plastic coffee cup. This beautiful machine reigned the sky in pre-jet era until the arrival Boeing 707 (or Comet).

  • @aminul56 Ive only been in it on the ground ahaha

  • @mrrentaspace you have to born earlier ;-), But you will see lot of new thing after my departure.

  • @aminul56 Yeah I guess, I was only born 50years to late..... hahahaha :( I wish I could experience the older aircraft though..... But even the many DC3's that used to fly around my area have disappeared :(

  • @mrrentaspace the first video you get if u serch : Boards of Canada - Corsair, has an old version of this plane (i believe)

  • @pyromohanzed Really? Interesting

  • @mrrentaspace its a really good song

  • @aminul56 The Comet did many things but it never reigned the sky. Comet 4 too little too late, like most of Britains post war aircraft. Could not see beyond their own island - too bad really.

  • nice!

  • It's always a thrill to see these planes fly today. Nothing less than a thrill!

  • @SenorSpode I know, It was the highlight of the day

  • Why was I born too late to experience aircraft like this !! I would have lived at airports just to watch them !!

The sound is superb, much better than jets !

  • @turboslag I would agree

  • Great video.

  • The most beautiful airplane that ever flew.

  • @7772go I would agree

  • @mrrentaspace Thanks. And if you want to see another really nice looking airplane check out FR-47 Seafire "The one and only". My Grandpa flew Spitfires but had the chance to see a Seafire up close but he never flew it.

  • Where's the super-like button?

  • @predatorec hahaha thanks :)

  • Beautiful, speechless

  • @traveler08a Thank you :)

  • Excellent video! What kind of video camera do you have?

  • @zildjiandrummr12 Not sure about exact model, but it is a Cannon Video Camera, I will check later today at exactly what model :)

  • Flew on this yesterday......smells like an old car on the inside.

  • @andgate2000 haha well I went on it at the Qantas Open Day at Sydney Airport and I think we caused that smell there as it rained a lot and everyone just crouded inside it :)

  • magnifique !!!! beautiful video

  • @adriendu57580 Thank You

  • Love that sound!

  • @ScrapyardApe It Is a beautiful sounding aircraft :)

  • The most beautiful commercial airplane made in world!!!!!!!!

  • @kilzwes yes, but their afterburners were a b***h to fix all the time hahaha (sourced from my pop)
