There's a girl named Sarah, she works at the grocery store as a teller...she has two young children, two adorable little boys...our town is small, we have 4,000 people in the entire area, 10,000 if you count the 3 other adjoining "towns". Do you really think Sarah is able to go into the city every weekend and play gigs and try and find record executives to listen to her music?
No...but she was able to go in for one weekend and become discovered. She didn't make it far last year and was able to come home, work on it and she's back in Toronto now. If she makes it, she'll be able to handle having a family and a career and balance it with the extra money.
They don't start bad...Kelly Clarkson was an amazing singer to begin with...she didn't start out popular she just showed up on the show and slowly gained a bigger fanbase.
As for music...let me tell you that it's one thing to stand in the back and play notes off a sheet...and to stand up and bare your soul singing for a full house. Some muscians are GREAT some singers are GREAT some are backup.
