Well, this is the first SM hack that doesn't look like someone sh*t out a bunch of tiles in random places; however, the caverns are boarderline ludicrous and that's a horrible place to fight Phantoon. Overall though, good.
Thanks for this video. I normally like finding things out for myself, but I was already aware this was a fairly complicated puzzle. Saved me alot of time. I only have 1 E-tank for the fight though :(
I didn't have any E tanks left for some reason. I just hit him with super missiles and save stated alot. I know about the charge and avoid flames things so it wasn't too hard.
@franchescolopez it's been a long time since I played this game, so I can't really remember. But I do know that they act just like the golden ones, it's just harder to avoid their attacks because you have no Gravity Suit at first
I thought it was pretty stupid of Drewseph to put that Stalactite facing the other way at the end. It breaks the pattern and is unintuitive, which is bad for game designers.
But yeah, Phantoon. I think he is the only boss in Super Metroid that I genuinely hate fighting. Not because he's hard, but the flames are quirky and not very responsive to shooting.
I have to admit though, those two platforms in his room really do make a difference. Drewseph actually made him easier, which surprised me.
I thought he was harder, because the room is smaller but the platforms can often defend you when the flames fall. I haven't found this out myself, when I saw this the first time I thought "Ah no, not again a maze-puzzle..." because I've seen such things in many other games. After I beat this boss I actually died because of one of those fishes^^
I realize I'm 2 months late, but calm the hell down there buddy, its called a TRAP, which is intentional in the game design. I wanted to trick the player, they need to choose left or right, and clearly they came form the left, so instinctively the only other way is right.
If onyl the can redesign this amazing hack again its just too difficult

In the previous room, a clue should be given as to how you get through the room with stalactites.
