@thebestacc1 yes size and weight does matter you can go to one of your local surf shops and they will help you pick out the right board. like for instance im 6'1 and i ride a 5'10 short board but i have been surfing for years and ride a much heavier wave. hope this all helps.

neither, you should get a funboard, theyre usually 7 - 8 feet, get an epoxy one, if you cant find that then get a softboard
