  • My relatives are on Magician Lake in Dowagiac.

  • That was definitely 90 mph.

  • Between CP178 and CP180 (Dowagiac) speed is restricted to 79 mph. All the crossings in town and all the switches were replaced this summer and fall maybe getting ready to bump the speed up to the new rating of 100 mph this year (hope). PS: the tack is rated 110 mph, high speed ends at Portage Rd. just west of Niles.

  • I caught her in Grass Lake, MI.

  • Looks like 90 mph considering that Dowagiac is in the 90 mph zone... Interesting doppler effect on P42 #(looks like #77?) with that re-tuned K5LA.

  • @railfan3066 Ooo that sounds fast! I wish that we had those speeds in my town. The Downeaster never gores above 50 mph...

  • I do believe that it was Superliner II Dining Car 38039 Phase IVb paint this is my best guess, they had slowed to 79mph to run through town and that's pretty fast. Six P-42 (Genesis)
