stunning utterly brilliant it reminded me why i love doctor who and why the david tennant years were my favorite the tenth doctors ending was so tragic
For me, the fact that we're all having these arguments about who's the best Doctor, and whether or not Tennant was overrated epitomizes the beauty of Doctor Who - everyone can have their own favourite Doctor, Master, bad guy, costume, TARDIS interior and, of course, story. everyone can find something to love (and, occasionally, something to hate) in this vast, 47 year long history. That's why it's beautiful. No other show, book or film on earth can do that. Just Doctor Who.
@Babelcolour Are you ever going to do an early tribute for the Eleventh Doctor? I really enjoy your others and can't wait to see what you can do for that Doctor.
@mozinqui Oh no another retarded ass tennant worshipper who calls themself a fan but really only liked Tennant. 11 is SOO good and nailing the performance. Trust me don't fuck with bowties! no only does Matt and Patrick have one but Ducky from NCIS. That just says that bowties are invincible so don't tlak shit about them!
@SuperShokan You have a problem with 11? He IS the Doctor to and frankly I reckon he's the best Doctor of the Revived series, then the 9th and then the 10th Doctor...and that's my opinion
Tennant was overrated. Of course all doctrs are great in their own way. But looking at Tennant (this is about him none other!) he could get really annoying!
@Smallvillenerd Thank God I'm not alone. I never really got into Tennant's portrayal whilst everyone was having nerdgasms when he came on. Maybe it was the writing, but I always went 'meh' in every story (save a few) from 2006 to 2009ish.
@CrimsonHawkArts thank yu! Mainly RTD's work on the show felt like either Series Fillers most of the time. And Tennant delivered the melodramatic lines so badly at times. And towards the end of his run, it got pretty bad (minus a few like Waters of Mars, Midnight and the Library ones).
I think this is why Ten is my favorite (besides his Hair), because he does have the two very different sides that mesh so well together. Don't get me wrong I love all the other Doctors (Pertwee<3) but Ten is my favorite and these two tribute videos show why. <3 <3
1- The Stranger 2- The Hobo 3- The Hero 4- The Clown 5- The Soul 6- The Speaker 7- The Trickster 8- The Warrior 9- The Survivor 10- The Traveller 11- The Professor
@SuperScotty97 Regeneration is what the character does. Remaking or revisualising is what the BBC and each new Production team does. These days, it's only done to maximise profits.. reel in new fans. Notice how mature Hartnell eps were, not highly "kid" friendly. Now it's the opposite - Matt Smith is childish, and not very adult friendly. It's a betrayal to Classic fans, in many aspects. And it pisses on the graves of Hartnell, Troughton, Pertwee, Terry Nation and many other original creators.
@SuperScotty97 And how many Classic Dr Who episodes have YOU watched to be able to make an unbiased judgement? New Who is VERY different to Classic Who. It's almost like comparing "Star Trek" The Original Kirk series, to "Star Trek" DS9 or Voyager. You can call it "Doctor Who" but it's not the same. There are 11 "versions" of Dr Who and not everyone likes all 11 - just as not everyone likes all types of "Star Trek". Saying he's "not a fan" is hardly a good argument. What makes you a better one?
What the hell is the abomination that is NuWho? IT IS CRAP ! I HATED David Tennant. And 9. And 11. New Doctor Who sucks. Where is the intelligent, twisting plots or the actual threat? It's a kid/retard show for kids/retards. Why get rid of the Timelords? The Daleks in every series! No new and memorable villans! The obvious agenda that the BBC have, shoving multi-culturalism and and homosexuality down the viewers thoughts in a kids show?
@CrimsonHawkArts I don't hate any Doctor, completely - with each regeneration comes a new format.. after 11 regenerations we come to accept that. Some Dr Who actors are just weak (Davison; hard to follow Tom though), some had bad companions (Davison mostly, imo). Some Dr's had awful production teams, despite being good themselves. Some never got a decent chance (Colin Baker/Chris Eccleston). Some suffered from shit budgets and effects (McCoy). I do agree with you though, the BBC Agenda ruins it.
@MarcusBritish I was a bit brash saying I hated them, I suppose. I had just watched The End of Time, and disliked it massively. Obviously, RTD wanted the Doctor to show emotion to flesh out the 'storyline' *sarcastic laugh*. But, there is a point at which I realised, during the epic final battle *sarcastic laugh* (: that no longer was the show a stylish, intelligent story about a mysterious time traveller, but a drama about an emotional wreck who travels the streets of London. God, I can talk.
@MarcusBritish Also, I did not care for Tom. Well, he was good in the first 3 or 4 years, but soon the stories went down in quality. My top 3 Docs are: Pertwee, Hartnell and McCoy (season 25 and 26).
@CrimsonHawkArts I'm surprised at anyone who doesn't like Tom, he had a long run and put a lot of work into the character. I think his time started to drop due to the fact the BBC never sought to increase DW's budget and improve production, fans didn't get bigger and better episodes, they kind of remained too similar. JNT tried to improve things, but you either like him or you don't - his new direction for DW was quite different. Pertwee was wonderful, a gentleman. I love McCoy and Hartnell too.
Out of your three Tenth tributes I'd have to say this is the best one. I think it shows the tenth's true nature the best. Sure he's goofy at times, but I'd say his melancholy attitude was who he really was
Can we not make this a David Tennant vs Matt Smith debate? They're both fantastic in their own way, but this specifically is a tribute video to David Tennant, and a fantastic video at that! Great job, as usual, Babelcolour!
He was the best Doctor, no argument there, but I have given Matt Smith a chance. I must say he's good, but he will never be anywhere near as god as David was, never. David just was the Doctor, he didn't even have to try to be, he just was.
If you have a problem with this comment, I dare you to challenge me, I dare you.
I will admit that Tennant was a bit dark at the end there, but I think that's just in following with the Doctors progression. 900+ years of watching and sometimes being the cause of alot of folks dying is bound to leave some marks. Yeah, he's saved countless lives, but anyone will tell you that the worse things that happen are almost always the things that remain clearest in your memory. If he could go through all he has and NOT be affected I would be very worried.
These were great moments for Tennant, when he could show the sadness & darkness of The Doctor. At times he went TOO dark, especially at the end, for my view, but we'll need time to judge how good he was as The Doctor.
I love David Tennant as The Doctor and you picked the perfect song sung by Scott Bakula. ("Quantum Leap" was another favorite program of mine.) :) Great vid!
have you ever thought of doing a doctor who meets red dwarf or halo or something like that. i have a feeling you are the only one who could do it well :-)
The song Is Fates Wide Wheel by Actor Scott Bakula of Quantum Leap fame. He sang it in the episode 'Glitter Metal. It perfectly suits Quantum Leap, and Doctor Who.
This, in my opinion, is a better video then the video Doctor Who- Fate's wide wheel where the Doctor covers his eyes. Don't get me wrong that was an excellent video too but I think this has brought that video to number two with a Quantum Leap song mixed with Doctor Who...Brilliant
Nice vid. I like the contrast to your other tenth doctor vid, there is definitely need for both to show the contrasting aspect of his personality. (it would be interesting though to see one vid that managed to capture both)
Let's have a look at it Realistically, not everyone is going to be pleased with matt smith. Not everyone was pleased with Tennant believe it or not. Fact is, nobody is better than nobody. Every doctor is fantastic in their own way.
They all have to be different, if they all stayed the same there would be no point to the regenerations at all. It's part of what helps give the show its originality.
Yeah david tennant is awesome, but whenever he has a still shot taken of him he looks like he just been on the recieving end of an electrical shock, I think its the hair, and the wide stareing, eyes
Bring the pretty! I could watch every episode on mute and still enjoy them :D
But seriously, this guy was brilliant. Hit every right spot and all the best quirks of the Doctor as a character. Damnit...I wish he could've stayed for just one more season.
I swear the eyes that David Tennant has are out of this world. If you can move so many people with just the eyes.... AAAAAHHH Damn, boy !! Whoo !! Go David !! Love 1:29!!
Nice Tribute Video there to the 10th Doctor who will be missed. Great track 'Fate's Turning wheel from the Quantum Leap soundtrack, another fav show of mine. Thanks for sharing.
Wow... that nailed the angst half of 10. Really, very fine editing, I was thoroughly impressed, and not a little shaken by your powerful interpretation of 10. Bravo.
One reason that I think this song is such a cool choice is that it's being sung by the captain of the Enterprise. A nice little convergence of "Star Trek" and "Doctor Who" there :)
