Plain bullshit. The MP38 and MP40 differ in the years and mathods of production, but they both fire the 9mm Parabellum round. And all MP38/MP40 are metallic black as are most gun, but in the video the sun is quite strong so it may look silver.
As a collector wdo owns both an MP38 & an MP40 I can tell you about both guns.They are "cosmeticly" the same except the 38 `s reciever was made from milled steel blocks whereas the 40`s reciever was stamped from a sheet of steel,.It cut down on cost & time to stamp it.Also the 38 has ribs that run the lenght of the reciever housing the 40 is smooth.
Both are 9mm cal.
They are sweet shooting and very controlable and comfortable to shoot.If anyone has any other questions I`ll try to answer them.
well the very later production of 38 had a stamped receiver and the same safty of the 40(but only as the reciever guide) and a different charging handle cylindrical as mp41 and late production of mp 40, while late mp 38 and early mp 40 had a charging handle like the ak 47

Excellent video and a fine MP 38 Machinepistol. I collect firearms too but here in Canada you are automatically a criminal for owning it. I have a Longbranch Sten Mk 2 SMG with the sturdy stock. 9mm Luger /Parabellum. I have it and it is considered illegal by my government. Hell with them. I am a good moral man who believes that taking a human life is a mortal sin against our creator.

There's a whole wealth of history to be explored in small arms collecting. Each specimen speaks of a time in history. It is time governments realize that there is NOTHING wrong with collecting firearms. Think of remembrance day. It is always good to have a real prop handy. Like a Sten Mk 2 or an M1 Garand. Makes it more real. We always practice firearms safety so I just wish the powers that be get off our backs!

My question is why do all the "it's a mp40" asshats not know how to use their freakin' indefinite articles? Basic grammatical errors only further weaken your erroneous argument, it's AN mp40 (which it's actually not) not A mp40, the form of the article goes off the sound of the beginning of the word, "emmpee 40." The Mp 38 has a distinctive fluted receiver and you can see the "flutes" in the video. It is also made of more machined parts making it a more expensive MP 40.....MP 38 it is.

The German used the MP-40 instead of the MP-38 because since the MP-38 used a lot of machined parts, it was expensive and took a while to make. When the Germans used the MP-40, it used lot of stamped sheet metal and other stuff, so it was cheap to make.

no, this is a mp38 or mp40, a german sub machine gun used during ww2, the grease gun, was a american sub machine gun mosty used by tank crews beause of its compact size, it could fit into tight spots easily, but this is the mp40.

Plain bullshit. The MP38 and MP40 differ in the years and mathods of production, but they both fire the 9mm Parabellum round. And all MP38/MP40 are metallic black as are most gun, but in the video the sun is quite strong so it may look silver.

As a collector wdo owns both an MP38 & an MP40 I can tell you about both guns.They are "cosmeticly" the same except the 38 `s reciever was made from milled steel blocks whereas the 40`s reciever was stamped from a sheet of steel,.It cut down on cost & time to stamp it.Also the 38 has ribs that run the lenght of the reciever housing the 40 is smooth.
Both are 9mm cal.
They are sweet shooting and very controlable and comfortable to shoot.If anyone has any other questions I`ll try to answer them.

well the very later production of 38 had a stamped receiver and the same safty of the 40(but only as the reciever guide) and a different charging handle cylindrical as mp41 and late production of mp 40, while late mp 38 and early mp 40 had a charging handle like the ak 47

@GrimReaper129 Yes, there is a site called 'subguns.com" where both dealers and individuals advertise guns for sale. Go to the area that says guns for sale and click it. Then enter MP40 in the search criteria. Value depends upon the condition as to amount of finish, bore condition and of great importance is that all the serial nimbers match. A nice gun with all matching numbers can sell for as much as $25,000. I was lucky that I`ve had mine for 20 yrs and didn`t pay near that much.
