  • @laserdudeman thanks laser dude! I first heard this song when Tom Jones covered it back in the '60's when I was in the army. it's wasn't the kind of genre I would've listened to but everywhere I went I got it second hand as it was being played over and over in the barracks and on portable radios. then it began to sink in that this was about the opposite of a bad dream, the guy had the nightmare when he woke up.

    Once I dreamed I was in a boat on a beautiful day - came true: in a flood rescue.
