Gregory Davis, Miles's eldest son, with whom he had become estranged, has a new biography out about his dad titled: "Dark Magus," which is also the title of one of Miles's albums from the '80s. His take on their lives together and subsequent falling out might make for interesting reading. Miles's biographer, Ian Carr, who was interviewed in this documentary wrote an excellent book of Miles's life.
Thanks so much for this. Every other known jazz player has become a series of lame solos and standards; Miles is the only one who's still fresh.

Thank you so much. A man with extraordinary talent and vision. Controversial and with many faults. All these make him a fascinating being.

@HipHopkins09: Thanks for the correction on the release date of Dark Magus. Yes, it's a shame that he never reconciled with his two eldest sons.
