People should get the facts BEFORE they make statements like that, There are many patterns out there that still today no one knows where they originated. I had not seen that one until Jenny showed it on the show, and I must have over 100 quilt books.
Keep up the good work Jenny! Too many people love you're show to let one person to discourage you.

This quilt block may have been around a long time, but there are always new people like me who have not only never heard of it, but wouldn't have a clue how to make it. I find videos are the best teaching agent for me as I have to actually see how the project is made, just reading a pattern doesn't really make sense to me. So thank you Jenny for taking the time to do this video, I really appreciate it.
Hi ladies! I am a new quilter and have visited you often here on youtube. You have inspired me to try new things and I am thankful for your eagerness to share your craft with us. Miss Karen at TQ should shut her yap. Just saying.
Hey-you have some of the best videos! I did pull up Quilting for Dummies believe it or not - but I had to see it to believe how to comprehend doing the strips/blocks. I am about ready to take my laptop up to the 20+ boxes of fabric waiting & create! More progress than in the last 10 years! Don't let anyone discourage you - there are scoffers in every field of "entertainment & hobby" that we visit! Problem is now I cannot decide how big the blocks should start out - and what pattern I like!
I just made my first block!!! I am soooo proud of myself......Thank you so much Jenny for being my inspiration, I'm sitting here across the ocean with my laptop on, my you tell me what to do, and I do it.......
When the whole quilt is done I'll send a picture if you like. And after that I will order my fabric at your store, just bought some here to try......

I have watched all your videos and truly enjoy them. Keep up the good work.

I just finished mine using POSH by moda. Thank you for this viedo. Love, love, love this technique. As soon as I get it put together i will post a photo.
Nice tute! I love D9P but I prefer NOT to use charm packs, which end up making the quilt really busy, visually. I like using fewer fabrics, say 5 lights and 5 darks (from the same collection to keep things easy if you can), or use a couple of solids to kind of tame the patterns. D9P is a great, fast way to put together quilts...I use it a lot for lap/tv watching quilts!
Thank you for a great tutorial! I would never have thought of doing the large 9 patch and cutting it up - genius! And I don't care who thought of it, thank you for teaching us about it!
I’m planning on making a quilt for my niece and nephew I have never made a quilt before but I wanted to make it out of their baby cloths and so I wanted to know if it maters what kind of fabric I use to make the quilt? can I use any fabric?
hi i love this sewing method it really cuts down the time what kinds of threads are strong to sew with on the machine im sewing a quilt together and im just wondering which threads is the best to use
Hi Jenny, love all your tutorial. I started with searching for the baby quilt and have been hooked to your tutorial since then. You're just a great teacher. I have learned lot of techniques not having any previous quilting background. Hats off to you!
Hello Jenny, I want to thank you for sharing this fab projects, I've alwas wanted to do a quilt and now thaks to you I'm so inspired that I'm thinking to start my own business. I just hope someday I could visit the MissouriQuiltCo.
I would love to be able to master this technique; I am not a "sewer," but I've made a few baby rag quilts and would like to try my hand at your version, but I am wondering HOW do you get the beautiful aqua in your quilt and along your border? and how do you get that wonderful quilt stitching all through your quilt? Do you have to have a special machine?? I don't even know how to sew!! (help!)
@1955annemarie I used the aqua as a solid in the center squares and also the border. We do have a quilting machine and that is what puts the quilting in. We are working on a tutorial for Hand quilting.
@jennydoan57 Thank you so much!! I am also wondering HOW do I get a "clean corner" border?? I just love the colors, and the way they come together, on the quilt in your demonstration...oh! how I wish there was a class that taught what you do!!
I found your site last night by chance and stayed up very late watching youtube after youtube with your wonderful inspiring quilting skills! I made two very simple but beautiful lap quilts for Christmas gifts this year and they were so well received and fun to do that I wanted to graduate to something a bit more challenging...this tutorial will let it LOOK more challenging when it is basically a breeze! Thank you! I'm your newest fan, but you obviously have many! Bren

I love all your tuts and you're a blessing to me!!

Shame on you for giving no credit to the author of this pattern! Copyrighted by Nancy Brenan Daniels - in her book, "Disappearing Nine Patch"! Published by the American Society of Needlework some years ago. Please give credit where credit is due..., especially when you are profiting from this!
@KarenQuiltsTexas Hi Karen, not sure what you're talking about exactly. I haven't read all the quilting books out there, but the disappearing nine patch has been around for a long time, so it may have been mentioned in that book. I am not profiting from this at all actually, I'm just helping people figure out how to master this technique. If you know of a book where this is also taught, that would also be a great resource, please share, but there is no need to call down shame on me
@MissouriQuiltCo As balaubacher said it so well. Don't let that nasty person discourage you. I LOVE all your videos. I've never machine sewn or quilted (I sew by hand and machine embroider)before but after coming across your videos I bought a new embroidery/sewing machine so that I can make a quilt. I'm a total newbie at quilting, I really like your clear and simple instructions. I'm going to buy your video Course at sympoz.com as I'm in London so wouldn't be able to go to a class in the USA
@KarenQuiltsTexas How does she need to give credit here? She is just showing how to make the 9 patch. She did not say she invented the technique! And she is not making money off of showing people how to make a quilt! The tutorials are free. So if I sell paper and pens and show people how to use the pen on paper and how to fold the paper into a hat, does that mean I must give credit to the person/s that invented paper/pen? Get over yourself. Stop being a drama queen and stop being a twat!!!
@KarenQuiltsTexas from what I've read, Nancy Daniels' book has a DIFFERENT pattern for the disappearing nine patch. Also, there have been other books published before or at the same time as hers with this pattern (Karen Hallaby's "Magic Pillows, Hidden Quilts" for example). To think that someone magically invented these quilt patterns as recently as the last decade is foolish. This is an adorable idea and I plan on trying this method tomorrow..can you do any size squares 4 1/2- 6 1/2 inches? Nine different fabrics great way to use up a stash. Can you do flannel?
I think this is one my favorite videos you have shown us. What a great time saver. You could even start with 8" squares or 10" (layer cakes) & sew up those nine-patches, for a really fast project! With the layer cakes, I'd think you'd want a significant print on all 4 outside corners as you pointed out, since these will not get cut down. If you used solids on the outside corners, these would make great open spaces for some appliques. Thanks Jenny
I love this idea. Looks similar to the "Take Five" pattern, but easier sewing. We love when the seams don't have to match up perfectly, it's much easier to assemble rows. Thanks for your enthusiasm & bright ideas.
I just LOVE this idea! I'm getting a "new" sewing room makeover and am anxious to make a quilt for our bed to make it look nice this winter. What a great idea! This is perfect because I've been looking for a new but simple way to spruce up my quilts. Thank you!

awesome idea.
I could do that! Would be a different take on my quilts... I'm always doing squares as I'm afraid of doing anything else just in case I stuff up. lol
